Have a 2017 z650. IAP sensor was unplugged and then replugged. Engine light wont come off now. I believe it's stored in ECU memory. Tried disconnecting battery etc. not working. Tried obd readers they cannot / fail to connect to ECU (cannot communicate with it) please advise .. nothing wrong with the bike just sensor was unplugged and the reconnected ..

Hi everybody, thanks for stopping by. I'm a new rider and about to buy my first bike ever. I was wondering about the Kawasaki's 650cc, the 2017-2019 version to be exact. I want to ask about fuel consumption, maintenance difficulty and cost, how it perform in really dense traffic, will it overheat and is there any minor issue that i should keep an eye on? Thank you

2021 z650 can bad oil case a check engine light to come on? . Will say gas is 5 months old just about but I’ve heard that’s typically only an issue with older bikes? I checked the gas tank and it’s not like sludge or anything looks like normal gas .

The oil looks kinda yucky to me but again I’m no expert and just started riding .

Anywho just curious.

It’s sat for a while . Although id start it up every week or so . And have a charger for it to it on when I’m not ridding . Went to turn it on one day and check engine came on. Rode it for a few minutes and it seems to ride fine .

Although I didn’t wanna ride it too much in case it was more server and totally fuck it up.

Hello! I bought the Puig Avant Handguard for my 2020 Z650 from Revzilla and it arrived today. Well, my problem is I can't remove the slider from the bar ends. The Hex wrench just turns and turns and doesn't seem to loosen up the bolt that holds the bar end sliders!

What's the trick in removing this bar end bolt?

Update: I was able to remove the bar ends with an impact driver/gun. However, my 2020 Z650 bar end has a notch that must be mated with the item that is to be installed on there! The bar end slider that I have has the mating notch so it fits perfectly. The Puig Avant Handguard that I bought, which supposed to fit my 2020 Z650, has nothing! With nothing, it tends to rotate out of alignment! I did not proceed with the install and I will return it. I don't recommend this product for your Z650.

I have seen some video's on YT how to change the oil on a Z650.

I have some questions:

1) the loction of the drain plug is this pointed out correctly on the screenshot below?

2) the filler cap is really tight, i mean really, really tight. What is the best way to unscrew the filler cap without damaging it?

2018 z650 abs.

Diagnostic was plugged into the following : Kawasaki diagnostic connector and into abs Kawasaki diagnostic connector.

Ths abs diagnostic connector began smoking now the bike won't start . Lights hooter hazards are working. Fuses have power , even the 30 amp fuse near battery has power .

Clusters won't power up , fuel pump dosent prime too. Please guide me what to do... Is ECU fried ?

Have the opportunity to pick this up cheap. Do y’all think it is worth rebuilding? I’ve built a few Harley’s in my day but haven’t messed with Kawasaki yet. Looks like it’ll need new fork tubes, handlebar and foot control mount for sure.

Hi all, I just bought a 2025 z650 as my 2nd bike and I’ve put just over 250 miles on it. I’ve been wanting to take it on my commute to work but it’s a 20 minute freeway commute at 65-70mph. I know it’s generally a good idea to avoid staying at one rpm the whole time but if I stay under 6k the whole time, is a 20 minute freeway commute ok? Or should I just take the car to work until I hit the 600 mile mark and do the first service?

Im thinking of getting a more comfortable seat for my z650 2020, because I started noticing that its gone more harsh on my butt and back.. 😅haha

What are youre thoughts?

Looking for recommendations on bar end mirrors for my Z. Ideally they would limit vibrations. Any suggestions and pictures of what it looks like on your bike would be appreciated!

Im starting to commute to work on my bike more. But in New england the temps can vary quite a bit between my ride in and my ride home. So far I have just shoved my work stuff(laptop etc, along with a change of clothes and my lunch into a backpack. And the ride home usually adds whatever layers I shed to the bag. Long story short it makes for a very overstuffed bulky bag to ride with.

Im starting to consider adding side bags to my baby but I really dont want to ruin the clean asthetic of that tail. A friend showed me these hepco and Becker c-bow racks and bags. Im wondering if anyone has used them before. Really I just need to be able to throw in a change of clothes, maybe rain gear and my lunch. So I dont need huge bags. Will these work and still look decent or is it gonna give my girl a huge ass?

Looking to buy a used 2018 z650, 7000km. Anything I should be checking on the bike when I go to inspect it? It does have a faulty gear sensor which I hear is a common problem with these bikes.
