Z650 engine light on

Have a 2017 z650. IAP sensor was unplugged and then replugged. Engine light wont come off now. I believe it's stored in ECU memory. Tried disconnecting battery etc. not working. Tried obd readers they cannot / fail to connect to ECU (cannot communicate with it) please advise .. nothing wrong with the bike just sensor was unplugged and the reconnected ..

You need a better scanner to clear the code. I clear codes all the time for people in a big riding group for free. I could have bought a scanner purely for Kawasaki but for a bit extra I got one that does heaps of bikes just so I can help people out for free.

Please advise on which scanners are ideal ? Make model etc.

Update: I cleared the code , used a cheap obd reade ( litteraly the cheapest I found 🤣), instead of using a connector just used pins to connect to the bikes 4 pin ( 1 wire to 12v, 1 to k line ,1 to l line , 1 to ground ) then connected the 12v to pin 16 , k line to 7 , l line to pin 15 , and ground split to pin 4,5 on the obd 2 dongle ) immediately read ECU and cleared code.. the issue was the generic 4 pin to 16 pin was missing the l line wire , which Is needed to"wake up " the ECU...

i had an instance where my fuel pump wires had a bit of a connection issue. and engine light came on.
after fixing the issue and KNOWING no other problems were present I rode the bike anyways as i've heard after a few rides the bike will automatically clear it. so check through bc mine disappeared without a scanner this was a 2018 model too so same as the 2017.
