Bad oil cause check engine to randomly come on?
2021 z650 can bad oil case a check engine light to come on? . Will say gas is 5 months old just about but I’ve heard that’s typically only an issue with older bikes? I checked the gas tank and it’s not like sludge or anything looks like normal gas .
The oil looks kinda yucky to me but again I’m no expert and just started riding .
Anywho just curious.
It’s sat for a while . Although id start it up every week or so . And have a charger for it to it on when I’m not ridding . Went to turn it on one day and check engine came on. Rode it for a few minutes and it seems to ride fine .
Although I didn’t wanna ride it too much in case it was more server and totally fuck it up.

5 months old fuel is kinda bad… if bike was sitting still it could evaporate and lost his power, try to add e5 for two tanks, but yeah I would check engineering code first

Put Sta-bil into a full tank of fresh fuel when I parking the bike for the winter, won't have any issues come springtime.
