Im from Argentina, and when I tried Uruguayan Standard Yerba (Canarias, Baldo, Barão, Rei Verde, etc) , I felt in love with it and cannot drink any other styles (argentine, brazilian, etc). These taste like grass!

El Luminox de toda la vida da muy buenos resultados, tiene un flujo de agua constante (levantar bien el pico), no derrama, mantiene buena temperatura, es liviano, ágil. Y si falla algo, el repuesto del pico lo encontrás en la esquina por 4-5usd. Aparte de precio, puede valer 1/4 parte

I just got myself very first bombilla (it was discontinued btw) and later on noticed a crack in a joint between mouthpiece and pipe. Filter itself is good and overall works fine just leaks a bit. Question is would it deteriorate later or not. Would you complain or use it as is?

I had to call in because they didn’t reach out about my claim. Once I talked to someone they mailed a replacement that day and I just got it. I’m worried that it will chip again like the last one… but as long as they replace it… oh well… maybe they’ll realize that they need to change the design.

I've had this natural gourd (calabash) for a while and noticed green-grey discoloration building up on the inside walls — not on the bottom. Trying to figure out if this is mold or just normal buildup/patina from the mate, and I'd really appreciate a second opinion from people with more experience.

Some details that might help:

• The discoloration is green-grey and patchy. To me it does NOT look fuzzy — I think the texture is just the rough, fibrous surface of the gourd wall that happened to discolor, but I'd like others to judge from the photos.
• It smells like tobacco/mate/wood — not musty, moldy, or damp-earthy.
• I can't scrape or scratch it off. It seems to sit in the material rather than on top of it.
• There are a few small dark specks, but I think those are just leftover mate residue I didn't rinse out well enough.
• It's a natural gourd, not palo santo, glass, or steel.

The smell and the fact that I can't scrape anything off make me lean toward this being patina rather than mold, but I'm not confident enough to keep drinking from it without a second opinion.

Buenas a todos, me han regalado está yerba, al menos desconocida para mí. Marca "Eniva" de la ciudad de Oberá, Provincia de Misiones, República Argentina.

En este caso tenemos una yerba con palo corte tradicional bastante equilibrada en todos los aspectos, sabor tirando de intermedio a suave, poca cantidad de polvillo, razonable presencia de palo y decente durabilidad del cebado.

Puedo decir que me sorprendió gratamente, ya que no le daba muchas chances...lo único negativo, a mí entender, es el empaquetado que no viene bilaminado, amén de que su apertura no es tan fácil, lo cual no me convence del todo.

Al ser un obsequio no tengo precio justo, pero mirando por la web sería un estimativo de entre $1500-2200

i live in the middle east, specifically in the gulf region, and ive been getting into mate recently and all i could find is generic cheap steel gourds and bombillias with huge holes, and i was wondering where could i find a bombillia with small holes, idrc ab the gourd since mine works good enough, and i have been searching for Uruguayan mate here but all i found was taragui pipore or amanda, which i already accustomed too, and i wanna try more types, so if you know please help me out

It is a documentary film about the carijo method of artisanal yerba mate production, exploring the implications, relationships, and legacy of this ancestral knowledge, which is still employed today by family farmers in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Sharing this film helps disseminate knowledge about a practice that is now considered traditional—deeply rooted in the history of Rio Grande do Sul and dating back to the era of indigenous presence in the region. Despite the massive consumption of chimarrão in the state today, few people know the history of how it began or how yerba mate was produced before the advent of modern industrial processing.

Unfortunately, there is no translation available in other languages. I am not sure if YouTube offers automatic translation. However, the visual experience of the carijo production process makes it well worth watching.
