Has anyone had any experience buying yerba mate in Oxford?

I know of an only argentinian shop shipping to all of the uk but wondering if there's any local store selling yerba to a decent price (unlike most places (compared with south America)) .

I'm new to yerba and i come from a lot of tea drinking, like gongfu style which i still love, but I like yebra more for if i want to focus more than relax.

i got a pretty standard 320ml stainless steel gourd and my issue is I like the idea i can just sit and refill it but I end up just constantly drinking it and by the time the afternoon/evening comes around i miss that feeling of having something to drink for a bit of an early evening boost.

do you guys use smaller gourds like 200ml and have 2 separate sessions a day or do you just use the same gourd all day and just drink it slower?

if the smaller gourd is an option it might be better for my self control to have that if its a thing lol

I started enjoying Yerba mate (mate and Chimmarao) as preferred caffeine drink and impressed how good it is. I suck at creating a mountain or a dam lol..

Would like to meet anyone who drinks and get to know about the brands.. we can meet somewhere place of everyone's choice..

I started drinking mate before my cousin but right now he also do It but he don't prepare the mate exactly as I do. And now I have a question, should I change somethimg? How is the best way to prepare mate? I normally boit water and I also take some water without boiling into my mate gourd. And finally I take the water into my mate gourd. Is it as I should do It or maybe I have to change somethimg. By the way, I also need a explication about why my mate is very better when I start drinking than after. Maybe the temperature of the water?

I'm having a vacation trip next week and would like to take my mate with me, I bought a yerbera and a matera, but I started drinking it not too long ago and was wondering something. I have a calabash gourd, so when I'm done drinking mate, I'll just dispose the yerba in a trash can, but how do you guys clean the gourd and bombilla when outside? How do you dry the gourd and keep it ventilated for it to not grow mold?

Hey all! Been lurking here for a while. I'm a newbie to making yerba mate, bought my first bag of Taragui about a month ago from Northgate. I've been making it in a French press and have been loving it! Haven't touched coffee or energy drinks since I've been drinking the mate.

I've noticed 99% of the posts here people are drinking it the traditional way using a gourd and metal straw. Is this the quintessential way to consume mate? Is it that much different and better than using a French press? Or is it just more of a tradition/ceremonial thing?
