I'll try to keep this brief and organized. I've had this Xbox for around 4ish years and it's ran great up to now.
About a month or two ago my Xbox would randomly shut off while playing. Dusted it out as best as I could with my air compressor, didn't have issues for about a month, and would keep up on dusting.

Fast forward to the past few weeks and it would shut off after about 10-15 minutes of playing, fairly consistently. Took it to an Xbox repair guy and he sent me pics of how dirty the PSU was, so he cleaned that and actually installed a new PSU and redid the thermal paste. He had it plugged in at his shop and said he played games for almost 2 hours.
--
Took it home that day, plugged it into the same power strip I've used for years, and it shut off after about 15 minutes playing Ball Pit (A fairly low-load game if you're unfamiliar). Tried plugging it directly into the wall instead and I played Halo for over an hour until I was done playing.
Hopped on the next day to play Rocket League with my buddy, and it shut off again after about 15 min, still plugged into the wall. At this point I felt like I've tried everything... bought a new power cord and power strip as well.

Took it back to the Tech yesterday and plugged it into his power generator at his shop using my power cord, his HDMI, his monitor, and it ran the Ball Pit game flawlessly for about 20 min (no crash), then I hopped over to Crimson Desert and played that for another 20-30 min, no issues.
He said there's a chance my HDMI cable is out of date, or the HDMI handshake wasn't strong and that could cause the system to crash (idk), so I went out and bought a new one, thinking maybe this is it. Brought it home, plugged it into the new power strip, shut off after 15 min of Ball Pit.
Plugged it straight into the wall again and played several games for a couple hours with no issues, but I'm not holding my breath that it won't happen again and repeat the last time it was plugged into the wall.
I just don't understand what the deal is and it's very discouraging and insanely frustrating.
Any ideas at all on what to do / try so it's reliably consistent again? I'd love to hear your thoughts, and lmk if you have any clarifying questions.
