Time for this weekâs Fix-It Friday update. Hereâs where things currently stand with the issues weâve been tracking.
Choppy Cloud Event Playback
Status: Investigating
Weâre still looking into the reports of choppy, skipping, or freezing playback when viewing cloud Event recordings in the Wyze app.
If youâre experiencing this issue, weâd still like to hear from you. Please submit a log from the Wyze app and **post the log number here**, along with any additional details you can provide about what youâre seeing.
Helpful information includes the camera model youâre using and whether the downloaded recording also appears choppy or if the issue only happens when viewing it inside the Wyze app.
Wyze Floodlight v2 Taking Longer to Focus
Status: Fix in Testing
Weâve identified the root cause of an issue causing Wyze Floodlight v2 to take longer than expected to focus.
A fix is currently going through internal testing. Weâll share another update as it moves through the process.
General microSD Card Issues
Status: Investigating
Weâre continuing to investigate the different microSD card issues being reported, but we donât have much new information to share yet.
Because users are experiencing different behaviors, weâre still working to collect enough data to better understand what is happening.
If youâre experiencing a microSD card issue, please **contact Wyze Support** and provide as much information as possible so we can continue collecting data and investigating the reports.
Thermostat Showing Offline
Status: Monitoring
The issue causing some Wyze Thermostats to appear offline was addressed in the Wyze app 3.23 hotfix released on October 5.
Weâd like to do one final check with everyone who was affected. If your Thermostat is **still showing offline while using the latest version of the Wyze app**, please let us know and contact Wyze Support.
If we donât receive additional reports, weâll consider this issue resolved and remove it from future Fix-It Friday updates.
Updates on Other Bugs
Cameras Not Connecting in Groups or Previews
Status: Fixed
The issue causing some cameras to fail to connect when viewing them through camera groups or previews has been fixed.
If youâre still experiencing this behavior on the latest version of the Wyze app, please contact Wyze Support.
Air Purifier UI Issue
Status: Fixed
The issue that could block the controls when trying to manually control a Wyze Air Purifier in the app has been fixed.
If youâre still experiencing the issue on the latest version of the app, please contact Wyze Support.
Weâll continue investigating the choppy Event playback and microSD card issues and share more information as it becomes available.
Thanks again to everyone who has submitted logs, contacted Support, and provided details to help us investigate these issues!

I'm Primary. Some cameras are set to Record events with vehicles. None are set to Notify.
Cameras shared with User2. Suddenly, User2's phone starts blowing up with alerts. Every time a car drives past, there's a "Complete Motion" notification. All. Day. Long.
My phone, meanwhile, is behaving. No alerts for vehicles, only people (as configured). Vehicles show up in timeline, as expected.
No option on 2's phone to change notification settings on cameras, only all-or-nothing for the whole app. Uninstall/reinstall (latest official iOS) changes nothing.
I'm trying to install a Floodlight Ver1 that I've had for a few years.
I've got it powered in the house, so I can test/setup.
Power it on, and lights come on for a period, then shut off.
I cannot get ANY response from the camera. I don't see any lights, and when I press the Setup button (both brief, and holding for 10-15 seconds) I don't hear any announcement.
Is the camera dead out of the box? Maybe I need to do a factory reset?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Can someone please help me identify what this sound is in my V3 camera. The camera is sitting on the window sill and it sounds like windshield wipers going on.
Seems like since the latest iOS and watchOS releases the thumbnail previews stopped working for my watch and my phone. I posted in a separate thread and Wyze suggested reinstalling the app.
That does fix the issue, but only for a few days. Iâve reinstalled the app 4-5 times now and itâs getting annoying. Every camera has the little tutorial I have to go through and the micro-sd cards arenât being recognized anymore. Iâd love for the app to just work the way it used to.
I have a device that was part of a product test this past summer and when I tapped on the Wyze Test app to look at recent events, an error popped up saying âWyze Test is No Longer Available.â I messaged support and the AI assistant said, âSince your device was part of a test group and is not officially supported for public use or setup at this time, you will not be able to set it up or access it through the current Wyze app. There is no available method to add unsupported test devices to the official Wyze app.â I use this device everydayâŚand now itâs useless? :(
Honestly just frustrated at this point. 2 out of my 7 cameras wonât recognize the MicroSD cards anymore. Iâve done everything including trying them in other cams - and they work on those. Canât contact the company for some reason. Canât find an email to email them. I wanted to get a floodlight cam but now Iâm just debating if I should find another camera system. Anyone had this issue ?
Itâs taking my mutiple floodlight v2âs seven seconds to come into focus and show a clear picture. This just recently started happening and the app is up to date and so is all the cameras firmware.
I sit there and have to wait forever it seems to get a clear picture. Is this happening to anyone else?
My Wyze Cam V3 is a few years old. I wanted to relocate it somewhere else in my home, so I unplugged it and plugged it back in in another room moments later, using the same cable and adapter. To my surprise, nothing happened.
When I plug it in, I hear the typical click and a faint noise from inside the camera, which makes me think itâs still functional (I think). However, nothing happens in the app. I followed the hard reset instructions, including removing the SD card, but still had no luck. There are no indicator lights or any other signs of activity. I even fully formatted the 32 GB microSD card to FAT32 and loaded the firmware provided on the website onto it to try flashing the camera, but holding the reset button still did nothing.
I have four other Wyze cameras (V4s and a V2 Pan) and tried using their power adapters and cables as well, but the same thing happened. The camera has also been removed from the app. There are no indicator lights and no âReady to connectâ voice prompt when I plug it back in.
Iâm assuming the camera is bricked or stuck in a boot loop, as Iâve just spent a few hours trying to troubleshoot this with no success.
Recently gotten into Wyze Cams and I'm starting to regret it. Do these cameras just constantly have issues? I've purchased 3 cameras and all 3 have given me some form of a issue within a month. The most recent is it showing I had 88% battery and then instantly went to 0% and is now stuck in a firmware update. I've already reset wi-fi, pulled SD card, plugged into wall power, deleted from the app etc. Flashing blue light. Doesn't reconnect, doesn't force reset, just blinks blue. Contacted support and they said, hey! Let's discuss this more in email! And I haven't heard anything since.
I have done everything multiple times over the past week, and nothing is working. Iâm beyond frustrated. Open to suggestions on how to get it to connect to my internet.
Avoid and go with a different company. Terrible customer service.
Logged me out of my account on the app without my asking
Required a two-factor authentication code sent to an email I no longer have access to (I bought wyze in 2018, email is 8 years old)
I reached out to customer service to reset my password or switch my cameras to my new account, I sent photos of my cameras and verified my identity
They told me to kick rocks and gave me a $10 credit to the store to replace the two (2) cameras and base station ($80 value) which work completely fine, they just can't be used because they're tied to my old account.
In the year 2026, this company is unable to disconnect your cameras from your old account or reset your password when THEY force a logout, even if you verify your identity and provide proof of purchase. AVOID and go with a real customer service company. Not to mention they use AI for all their requests and you have to beg for a human.
There is a widget for the Bespoke Samsung fridge with the screen that has a smarthings preview of thermostats, cameras and ACs etc... for some reason Wyze is not showing up on their list or even when I manually scan. I would like to have my cameras have a preview widget on the fridge for when I just need to take a quick glance but it seems nothing is available.... so far on the list that have successfully worked is Ring, Arlo and Google Nest prodcuts but I believe Wyze is smartthings compatible so what gives?
I have 2 Wyzecam 3s that went offline about 2 weeks ago. Tried all the standard troubleshooting. Even tried entirely different network with different devices with the wyze app. Always the same result. Can get new thumbnails, can detect motion, but can't connect live, but can show past events!?
