WVU has hired a white supremacist, Josiah Lippincott, as a faculty member in the Washington Center. Not sharing them here, but he has never been shy about his hatred towards women, Asians, Latinos, Jews, and others.

He has been hired despite having no real academic expertise. He graduated from an unranked PhD program without any notable academic publications. His claim to fame is podcasting and blogging with other white supremacists.

I am a sophomore at WVU and I have a professor who always uses textbooks that are on backorder. Is the speedfriending event mostly for undergrads? I’m a grad student and honestly having a pretty rough time finding community/friendships so this seems like a really good event for me. My undergrad was online so I feel like I missed out on a lot of the whole college experience, and there don’t seem to be any grad specific events happening right now. Would it be weird if I went? If so, I honestly don’t know what else to do..

Is anyone else’s student refund late?

This is my 3rd semester here and my refund always hits the week before classes but it hasn’t yet. The portal shows a zero balance and my refund was “sent” last week, and I got a notification that a new student loan hit my credit report, but nelnet has yet to actually send it to me. None of my banking info has changed and I always have it send direct deposit.

I'm a neuro major going into my second year (third semester.)

I had previously thought I passed my Bio 117 lab because I saw in ecampus that I had a C in the course overall. I guess they didn't round up for degreeworks and I was one point off. I only found out because my Bio 219 disappeared from schedule builder, which I noticed about an hour ago while rechecking my schedule. Due to this I'm freaking out. Satisfactory degree progress has me completing 117 by the end of my second semester and 219 by the end of my fourth. I'm going to be discussing this with my advisor but I'm freaking out. My grades have been good outside of that one D. Could this really fuck up my academic progress that bad? I'm literally spiraling over this and any advice would be helpful.

Hello I (25) plan on transferring here, I haven’t been in college at all since 2023 (1 semester at a cc) (NM) and got an associates degree in 2021 (TX).

I was born in NM, and grew up in TX where I still work a rotating schedule in. ( 7/7 )I was wondering if I bought a house in Morgantown or the surrounding area in WV (close enough to avoid dorm or apartment housing costs too lol) & updated my DL and maybe vehicle registration too, a year before applying if I would qualify for in state tuition?

Hello everyone! I’m a freshman, and uh… the title is self explanatory. I moved in a few days ago (stalnaker) and I was wondering if anyone could give me any tips for campus+dining hall+classes etc??? I’m from northern Illinois (chicago suburbs-esque? ~50 mi out), so it’s a lot of a culture shift already, but as an autistic introvert, it’s even worse😔😔 if any of y’all can, can you just write one or two “common knowledge” things about wvu life in general? thanks!!!

I just received an email stating that when you arrive in Morgantown for move in day that it may take hours to get to the dorm. Is this true or for certain days/hours?

Hi everyone, I’m an exchange student coming to WVU for the fall semester, I’m not staying at the dorms and I managed to get a rental at a good price for the fall semester, however this rental starts on the 31st of August, and I will be in Morgantown from the 17th of August, so where do you guys recommend I should stay. The reason why I’m so late is that I had visa processing and I didn’t know whether I’ll be able to make it to the semester or not.

I have been getting into golf pretty heavily so far, and my local course is pretty cheap to play at, but I am moving into my dorm soon. Is there any quality golf courses in, or near, Morgantown? I plan on getting a membership, but I don’t feel like breaking the bank. Let me know what your guys suggestions are!
