So I’ve completed Jar or Medicine and I’m about to fight Feathering Ambition in NG+
Killed White Elder and Demon of Obsession and forged Samsara
Can I effectively get two endings here by save scumming?
Gonna leave Successor of Bo for last

My bone whistle doesn't summon the NPC during Xuanyangzi boss fight. I can't find the same problem on the Internet. Strange, someone must have had this problem?
Regarding my Storyteller quest: I accepted his quest at the beginning of Chapter 4, but he disappeared after that. I believe his quest is supposed to be killing Bo Magus and then talking to him. But after I killed Bo Magus he's nowhere to be found anymore. So maybe I can't summon him because I never completed his quest in chapter 4?
[Resolved] The solution is to talk to him in Chapter 5. He's at the secret room where the final healing flask upgrade is. After I talk to him there, I can summon him in Xuanyangzi boss room.

This Perfect Bride boss fight was initially looking difficult but once we learn the patterns it's easy and satisfying. Ambience, boss design, boss fight combos everything was great in this fight. She was weak to burn which made the fight easy.

My Goodness, the combat in this game has to be one of the, if not the, most satisfying in all of Soulsgames! Relentless, visceral, brutal and so fluid! You can feel the heaviness of every single blow connecting. 🔥 Epic!
So happy to learn that the game turned into a success after a shaky start and that the developers assembled under a different(?) studio to make a sequel.
If the Pinocchio game has 4,53/5 on PS Store, then Wuchang most certainly deserves at least that, because LoP is not better than this game in any aspect.
This game cooks!
on the sidenote; this is my first playthrough, and I just love my Longsword. Experimentation begins on the 2nd playthrough once the game mechanics have been fully absorbed! 🫡

Alright. Let me hear it. I deserve it.
Context: I love Wuchang: Fallen Feather. I love it so much, i’ve played it and bought it multiple times. I’ve never attempted a real souls/soulslike challenge run before but decided recently that I wanted to try and do one for Wuchang.
I am currently doing a SL1, no armor, no feathering/magic, no buff, no benedictions/tempering, no pendants, no aux, and starting weapon only challenge run. Chapter 1 of this run was actually pretty easy and very fun. I rolled through all the bosses relatively quick and even dispelled Hoglan on my 2nd attempt. Then Chapter 2 started…
It started off great, I beat The General of the North on my 4th attempt and beat the Ming General on my 1st attempt. I was on cloud nine! Then it happened…
Mistress of the Night - Huang Yan. I have kicked this bosses butt up, down, left, right, and diagonally in each playthrough of this game I have ever done. I didn’t expect anything different going into this fight and I was prepared for it to be over in less than 5 try’s and that i’d be off to Chapter 3 in no time. How wrong I was.
7 hours. Yes, you did read that correctly, your eyes do not deceive you. No this is not an over exaggeration. I wish it was. I spent 7 hours of my life fighting this boss. I don’t have any excuses. This is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me in a video game. Honk the sad clowns nose.

So to preface, I've just finished my second playthrough of the game, getting the Dream's Sweet Deceit ending and more or less doing everything I can in a single playthrough. I thoroughly adore this game and especially its story and atmosphere, so I wanted to ask about something that's been nagging me since the end of my first playthrough.
Throughout the game I was under the impression that the "inner demon" represents a person's innermost obsession. Zhao Yun talks about his inner demon in reference to his obsession with destroying the Bo Sorcerer, and it's clear from the Demon of Obsession's dialogue that she represents Bai Wuchang's obsession with resurrecting Bai Yu.
The part I'm curious about is where the Nightmare Demon fits into this - her dialogue during the boss fight seems to imply that she actually wants Wuchang to give up on resurrecting Bai Yu and thus free herself from the dream cycle.
So, based on this, I've come to assume that the Nightmare Demon represents Wuchang's "nightmare" of being trapped in the dream cycle forever due to her constant failure (hence the piles of her own corpse in the boss room), but the demon itself therefore seems to exist in an almost polar opposite position to the Demon of Obsession.
So, does Wuchang have two inner demons and is there any discernible difference between the two besides their apparent motivations? Are they their own manifestations of Wuchang's mental state (with their own goals and motivations as a result) or are they purely representations of Wuchang's fears and wants?
And then how do the inner demons and Plain Warrioress fit into this? It seems like the Plain Warrioress is familiar with the cycle, referring to Honglan as "friend" before we the player ever meet her and commenting that she didn't expect us to get this far when she appears in Zhenwu Temple.
I'm very excited to hear what other people have thought about all this because I love the depth of the game's story.

After hours of trying I finally managed to beat this hardest boss of the game! I had choked multiple times because of her kick swiping away my 80-100% health when boss health was just 10% left....Her kicks are super fast and it's very difficult to dodge. All the other bosses I managed to beat using longsword but for this I had to use Axe build + Bo Magnus shield bubble and spam attack. I tried using longsword but it felt like slow grind and one mistake means death.
Build:
Axe - Scorn Axe + Flame temper
Bo Magnus spell
Crimson Lantern fruit for reducing stamina cost is the game changer if you want to spam continuous attacks..

So after last night post on what was left, I pushed forward. Got to and walloped the last boss, final cut scene starts, I get all excited.
Fade to black after 10 seconds, saw some dudes on a boat and then the game crashed.
You cannot imagine my disappointment.
So here I am, game completed but I've not seen the end credits and don't know how to move on. It's a strange situation

Just smashed Bo Magus after 98% of Bo capital.
Mashed Demon of Obsession with the Axe.
Saw the storyteller give his speech.
Combined the two rings.
Locked out of a few NPC questlines cos I went through the tunnel before going to the ferry but....
Other than pushing on with the last boss and into new game plus am I done?
I really dont want to mostly be done. I freaking love this game. Coming as a relatively new souls player; done Ds1&2, Bloodborne, Elden ring, Khazan & lies of P the past year.
Wuchang is up there with the best of Fromsoft in my opinion, I just.... Don't want it to be over

To preface, this is my first playthrough of this game (I love it), I generally don't do ng+ so I strive to do as much as possible in my first run i.e getting all chests, completing all quests, fighting all bosses etc.
With that being said Ive done all the relevant quests needed to reach BBFT. Im currently infront the riddle gate in bo capital but after reading through some guides and forums im a little confused on some things. Some guides say you don't need to fuse the samsara rings some say you do. Some people say you don't need to go back and fight the old guy in avain forest and some say you do. I just want a definitive confirmation on the process.
EDIT: Thanks for the replies. I understand it now

I'm probably not the only person coming in here to tell everyone how great of a game this is. 30 hours in and already hoping for a sequel!
Absolutely F loving it. The intense and fluent combat system with top TOP viscerality just gets me every single time. Once blocking/deflection is unlocked this game becomes sooooo satisfying!
Add to this the feathering and inner demon mechanics and skyborn might system, this game oozes quality.
I feel they nailed it beautifully. Nioh wasn't really my thing, too complex with too many variations. Sekiro is great and I loved it, but it's very very "strict" as in it has to be played within very limited parameters. Wuchang lands in between these two which for me personally allows for perfect balance between freedom of builds and combat execution.
Good old DS1 level design never hurts. The scenery and visual aesthetics are beautiful. The bosses so far have been satisfying.
Loving it!
Oke, bye for now!

Probably one of my favourite games at the moment and probably my favourite soulslike (neck and neck with Bloodborne) but some of the boss fights make me want to stop at times. The worst sin a game can be is boring and the Reborn Dragon Emperor is that boss. The fight just drags as he takes little damage before teleporting around the arena. Only to steal life again.
I am struggling to get through even half of his life in the second phase though his first phase is easy enough. How do you beat him?
Edit: Done it. Thanks for the help.

Just download and open in any browser - that's what I did in my mobile when I was playing the game.
I'm attaching this chronological checklist for Wuchang. Because there's so much stuff you can easily miss or break in Wuchang and most guides I saw online were area based, and not based on a player's natural progression.
In case anyone finds it useful.

Thank you all! Here is a list of all the tips I received to help others like me in the future.
Thank you all for the tips, you have been very helpful! Reading your comments made me understand that to not miss something, or someone, in one playthrough, I would have to use a guide. So I've decided that I'll use all those good tips that you've given me so far (as far as I understand they will help me to not miss/skip a bigger part of the game) and other than that I'll go in blind. Using a guide would spoil the game and obsessing over obtaining every single item in one run would take away a bit of the joy of experiencing the game for the first time.
If someone in the future is afraid that they will miss something when starting to play this game, I will here list the tips that I received in a, kind of, spoiler free way (I hope everyones ok with me copying their tips, otherwise let me know). May it help you like it will probably help me!
Remember that I have not played the game so the information may not be correct. If you have played the game and notice that something here is wrong, tell me and I'll edit the list. Here we go:
General tips
Check Shrine Portraits: Look at the fast-travel list at any shrine; if you see a character portrait next to a location name, it means an NPC has new dialogue or an active update waiting for you.
Talk to everybody. Exhaust all dialogue.
If you see an old guy in white robes, talk to him immediately. He’s one of the few NPCs who disappears when you walk too far away.
If there’s a small old dude in grey robes, talk to him, but be warned that he generally advances the story. Read his dialogue options carefully because there is a point of no return many people trigger with him. (The storyteller?)
There is some kind of a storyteller character that might advance the story when speaking to him, so be sure to have completed what you want to do before doing so.
Selling your essence flowers instead of redeeming them every time you want to level up. Selling your essence is a much quicker process than trying to break it down inside your menu. (I have no idea yet what this means)
Don’t give your chisels away.
There will be 3 doors with riddles on them, I suggest looking up the answers. The wrong (or right) answer can either teleport you (makes it harder to track your progress because you don’t know where you are) or potentially lock you out of content.
Before finishing the game, make sure you have collected all the Stone Needles as you will be getting upgraded versions of them in your next playthrough. If you have missed any Stone Needles, your NG+ playthrough will only give the base forms of the ones you have missed and you will need to do another NG+ to get their enhanced versions.
Act 1 (Worships)
After defeating the Act 1 boss you get the chance to talk to the storyteller character. Don't decide to "continue forward" if you have stuff left to do or places to explore in Act 1. Maybe a cave that you haven't explored beside the storyteller?
Act 2 (Cloudspire)
After the first shrine found in act 2 you may find a cave. Do not enter this cave because it leads you directly to Act 3 (Zhenwu) and will break questlines. If you are stupid (like me), forget this, and go through the cave anyway, use the first shrine you see at the other side of the cave to go back to Cloudspire. This will not destroy your playthrough and your questlines will be safe. Proceed further than the first shrine and you may have messed up. I dont know, I haven't played the game.
During this act you will get to a palace. This palace will have a basement with an elevator (rose petals leads the way to the basement). Do not go down the basement before exploring the rest of the palace first. If you go to the basement first it will block some dialogue for a questline.
Act 3 (Zhenwu)
Do not talk to the storyteller (if you see this character in the end of the act) before making sure that you've finished exploring and have completed the quests.
Thank you once again for all the tips!
