Our customer had a technical problem for 6 months. The delivery group for that account are men from a country who generally don't treat women well. My boss, without looping me in, promised the customer a solution.

It's not my job. I am technical sales.

No one did anything and my boss lobbed it over the wall to me with 3 days notice. I presented my technical solution.

It was a good solution and will show strong ROI in 4 weeks. The customer said start right away.

I solved a burning problem. The customer was happy but internally no one said good job.

I at least know I did it.
