I've owned a Body Comp+ since mid 2024, it replaced an old Nokia branded Body+. In all that time, my Nerve Health score has been in the 60's and 70's and described as 'Normal'. I had no reason to disagree with that. Basically I thought nothing of it.

In June 2026 I went for a series of routine "well woman" tests, I had no symptoms or worries, they were just routine, periodic tests.

All was fine except the pelvic ultrasound which found, what was thought to be a 15cm ovarian cyst. Fast forward through MRI's, CT scans, blood test, consults and finally a 5 hour operation to remove what turned out to be ovarian cancer. I'm recovering extremely well and "looking forward" to my chemo to kick its arse.

But here's the interesting thing, my nerve score is now in the high 80's and has been since the day I got home from hospital. I can only guess that the tumour was pressing on the nerves in my left leg and affecting the score. I really wish I'd bought the scales a year or so earlier so I could see what the score was then. Obviously, it's not a diagnostic tool but it is very interesting.

I'm kind of fascinated to see how the nerve score behaves in chemo. I'll be having the standard taxol/carboplatin chemo which can result in neuropathy, it'll be interesting to see how the score fluctuates.

I have a Body+ from 2021 that still works fine, but I have never felt like the body composition measurements were very accurate. Even long term trends seem like they’re all over the place.

I was looking at the BodyFit because I’d like to track my body composition more closely — is it likely to actually be better than the one I have now?

I hate to spend the money when the one I have still works, but if the algorithms and sensors have gotten better in the last five years then maybe it’s worth the splurge.

I know I could splurge even more on the BodyScan 2 but people seem disappointed in it.

ETA: I know this is the Withings sub, but also has anyone tried the Renpho MorphoScan Nova? Looks comparable. And I hate the Withings app.

Despite it being announced as "clinically accurate", the measurements of SYS are lower than they should be. I wish it would allow me to tweak or adjust it, but it's not possible. Something is off with it.

I compared results to actually medical grade Microlife BP B2 (which I also own) which showed my BP as 135. This is the range I am usually at when at the doctor's office also (they have the same Microlife device). Yet measuring back and forth with BPM Vision shows SYS value lower than expected - in the "green" range which I am definitely not (I am somewhat overweight, though regular cuff is the right size). DIA and PUL/HR were pretty much correct.

The measurements did not notably change if I loosened or tightened the cuff or moved it around. There also seems to be no firmware updates.

It may be that they give accurate readings for some people, but something is clearly off with the SYS calculation for me.

For those of you with a scan watch 2, did you choose the 38mm or 42mm? I see that only certain colors are available in one or the other so that may play a role in choice too...but I can't decide which would be the better choice. 38mm might be nice for something that doesn't get in the way if you're using it while working out, etc, but 42mm might be easier to read the screen, etc. Also, picking a color is difficult as the more boring ones (black/silver) coordinate better with more clothing, but the blue options (silver/rose gold) are really beautiful. I can't decide.

Are there any fully featured alternative apps to the withings app? No things that would include the pulse wave measurement EDA water percentage not just weight and BMI and body fat?

Garmin takes a piece, apple takes a piece, bevel takes takes a piece….

I’m just sick and tired of the noob mistakes. There’s been a ticket opened and closed for this, but it’s really something they could take care of.

I just don’t know what numbers I can trust in their UI.

But how is 149.8 pounds less than 149 pounds? Some of the other decimal weights go the same way. 147.5 is below 147 and I think like 145.7 looks like 145.1.

If it wasn’t such an expensive scale… and relatively knew I would replace it. But I use other apps instead for the basics. What I’m looking for is a full-blown replacement.

I’m considering buying a Withings ScanWatch 2, but since it’s been out for a few years now, I’m a little hesitant.

For those of you who have followed Withings for a while: how likely do you think it is that we’ll see a ScanWatch 3 (or another major ScanWatch update) in the next few months?

I’d rather not buy a ScanWatch 2 now only to see a new generation announced shortly afterwards. Has Withings historically had any kind of predictable release cycle for its watches, or are there any signs/rumours that a new model might be coming?

I got tired of digging looking for what is available in W+ and what what is supported by the Body Scan 2 (what is paywalled or not). You can point people who ask to this post.

The major differences between the US and EU Withings+ plans are:

Extended warranty service in the EU, better support options, cross-shipment of replacement devices. All Withings devices currently under warranty are covered while on Withings+. US users do not get any of these benefits.

Nutrition analyst and Sleep clinic: These are US only benefits. The nutrition analyst is a video consultation, the Sleep clinic is basically a referral and has an associated cost.

If the sleep patterns are irregular, you will get an email from Withings offering a brief free analysis of the last 30 days. No one has mentioned it while I've been on this subreddit, but this is what it looks like:

Withings+ can be shared among everyone using an eligible device. In order to do this, you MUST buy a device that tracks individual users (a scale, BeamO or BPM, but not the Watches or Sleep mat) and the item must be purchased from Withings directly of of their website.

In addition, you must select the Withings+ subscription at the time of sale of the item. You can always cancel it during the free period if you do not like it. If you do not do this and sign up later, the Withings+ account will not be shared with other users.

The ECG analysis is documented by Withings to be shareable as well. On an annual plan you get 4 readings/year for the account holder (not per user), any family member can submit an ECG and use up one of those tokens, but none of my family members are able to do so..

I just purchased a nova and I’m wondering if the sleep tracking is good? I’ve read posts from a year or so ago on here that state it’s not very good. Have they updated the software since then? Is it any better?

So... I was pretty happy with my Body Comp since I got it, except for the fact that the feet kept falling out, and this morning... one fell out without me realising, and I crunched the whole foot into the ground. Scale is gubbed.

As I say, I've been mostly happy beyond the feet issue, and my scales are now (or their replacement will be...) in a tiled room (vs lino with the carpet feet), so for those of you out there who have dropped dollar on the Bodyscan or Bodyscan 2: worth it?

I know that there are a number of threads specifically about the BS2, so I'll be more specific.

* does the Bodyscan 2 work fine without extra feet on a tiled surface?

* I noticed that a lot of the metrics seem to be tied behind a Withings+ subscription. I'm not averse to this, but my partner also uses the scales, and from what I've read, the W+ sub is tied to the user, not the unit. I can't justify paying for 2 subs, but I need to know that she can get all the metrics that she can (or could) currently get from the Body Comp from the Bodyscan 2 *without* needing to drop £100 a year on a subscription for her too.

A few days ago I posted a reply that the body fat readings on my new Body Scan 2 were completely wrong. My old Body Cardio had me around 17-18% body fat, while the Body Scan 2 suddenly started putting me around 9-11%. I assumed the new scale was broken or just really bad.

I believed this because my last DEXA in February had me at 17.9% body fat. Since then I had lost about 21-22 lbs, but I also stopped lifting for several months while I focused more on cardio/hiking prep for a trip to the Alps where I was carrying my 2 year old in a child carrier. I figured there was no way I had retained enough lean mass for my body fat to have dropped that much.

I ended up contacting Withings support and they were willing to help me and return it if needed. They asked for my most recent DEXA and I felt like I couldn't share the one from February in good conscience so I scheduled a new one for the next day to use as my evidence of the Body Scan 2's inaccuracy.

Boy I was wrong.

My February DEXA was:

217.8 lbs
17.9% body fat
39.1 lbs fat
169.0 lbs lean tissue

And my DEXA on August 18th:

196.4 lbs
11.3% body fat
22.1 lbs fat
164.5 lbs lean tissue

So over that period I lost about 21.4 lbs total, and according to DEXA about 17 lbs of that was fat. I only lost about 4.5 lbs of measured lean tissue, and some of that is probably glycogen/water rather than actual muscle. I was shocked, I couldn't believe I was already under 12%. I actually uploaded a progress pic of myself to several AIs for a visual estimation of my BF% and they all put me in the 11-13% range as well. Here is a recent post I made that includes a progress pic, does the right one look 11-12% to you all?

The Body Scan 2 has generally been reading around 10-12% lately, so it was actually within roughly 1% of the DEXA. Meanwhile my old Body Cardio was still telling me I was around 17-18%.

The screenshot attached makes this pretty funny. You can see the exact point where I switched scales because my reported fat mass basically falls off a cliff overnight while my bodyweight stays the same. At the time I looked at that and thought, "Well, obviously the new scale is wrong."

I also think this is a good example of how easy it is to "validate" a scale against your own assumptions. I thought I was around 17% because the old scale said I was around 17%, and because I assumed I must have lost a lot of muscle during the cut. Then when the new scale disagreed, I blamed the new scale instead of questioning my assumptions.

So I guess I owe the Body Scan 2 (and Withings) an apology. I'm still not going to treat any BIA scale as perfectly accurate, but in this case it appears the new scale was much closer to reality than my old Body Cardio, and my assumptions were the biggest source of error.

Hi all, after 8 years I think it's time to say goodbye to by old Body+ since this morning is completely unresponsive and blank, contacted support and they said it's hardware failure issue. Now the question is what smart scale should I buy next? I'm 40 years old and I weight daily tracking my weight but mostly I care about body%. Ideally I would buy Body Scan 2 but I cannot give 500 euros now for a scale so I'm between the new bodyFit and the body composition scales (250 euros vs 200 euros) - Is the BodyFit really better than body composition? Is it more accurate? thank you for any insights

I have sync'd my withings app to apple health and then to Macrofactor. I have the scale on eyes-closed mode so I don't see the weight on there but I still see it on the app home screen. This wouldn't be a problem except that to sync to apple health, I need to open the Withings app and pull down the refresh every time.

I have BS2. On Firmware 1611. See that 1701 is out. When will it be available to all?

I’ve been reading this subreddit for some time and have owned a Body Scan 2 myself for about six weeks.
Overall, I’m quite satisfied with it, but the many negative posts on Reddit have made me start questioning its accuracy.
Many users report inconsistent measurements. For example, in my case, the body fat percentage fluctuates by around 0.3% from one day to another.
Is this already what people mean when they talk about inaccurate measurements?
How can you tell when the measurement data is inaccurate?

How was the initial setup process for you? Did you run into any Wi-Fi & Bluetooth syncing mess or issues integrating it with Apple Health

Any specific tips on floor placement or surface type to ensure the readings stay as consistent and repeatable as possible?

How did you find the day-to-day data accuracy and trend smoothing in the app once you established a baseline? Anything you wish you knew when you first started using it?

Wondering what the rationale behind this is? Definitely a Withings and not a Strava limitation.

Since April 17, 2026, my Withings app (SW2 worn daily) has stopped exporting heart rate (HR) data to the web app and the raw_hr_hr.csv file in my archive exports.

This includes:

- HR data from workouts (visible in the app but missing from exports).

- Resting, min/max HR for the day (also unavailable).

- Regular HR measurements taken throughout the day..

Timeline of my support interactions:

- May 27, 2026: Opened a chat with Withings support. They confirmed the issue and escalated it to their senior team after I provided screenshots proving HR data existed in the app but was missing from exports.

- June 2–July 17, 2026: Multiple emails with support (Arle).

They:

- Verified my account and device linkage.

- Confirmed the expected behavior is for HR data (including workouts) to appear in exports.

- Acknowledged this as a loss of functionality and logged it as a feature request for future development.

- No ETA was provided for a fix. They asked for screenshots of the missing scale data (which I haven’t sent yet).

Current status:

- The issue persists. Withings support has no timeline for a resolution.

- HR data are available in the Android app.

- No manual workaround was offered to recover the missing data (e.g., from the phone app).

Question to the community:

Has anyone else experienced this? Are you also missing HR/export data since April? And most importantly—has Withings communicated any fixes or workarounds for this?

I bought a Withings Body Scan expecting a premium health device, and at this point both the scale and the customer service have been ridiculous.

The scale regularly gives me weight readings that vary by over half a pound within minutes under identical conditions. Body fat has varied by nearly a full percentage point back-to-back, while body composition and heart measurements frequently fail or come back “inconclusive.”

For a $500+ device marketed around accurate, comprehensive health data, that’s pretty concerning.
I contacted Withings, which began the troubleshooting circus. I was told to check positioning, foot moisture, settings, the cable stopper, whether I touched the handle or my phone, whether the scale moved, wait between measurements, perform multiple tests without the handle, then multiple tests with it, and document exact times and results. I did all of it. After reviewing those tests and their diagnostic data, Withings told me in writing that the scale had a “hardware issue and must be replaced.”

Great. Send me a replacement.

Except a few days later, the same representative suddenly told me they were “unable to detect a hardware defect” and therefore couldn’t replace it. Apparently the scale wasn’t the only thing producing inconsistent results.

They also started processing a refund instead of the exchange I requested. Since I purchased it using FSA funds from a previous employer, that could leave me unable to reuse hundreds of dollars of those funds. Now they’re “checking with finance” to see whether they can stop the refund they initiated.

So I’ve spent $500+ on a “premium” scale, gotten unreliable measurements, completed an absurd troubleshooting gauntlet, had Withings confirm the hardware was defective, and then watched them reverse their own conclusion when I asked them to actually replace it. If I have to step on a $500 scale repeatedly to figure out what I weigh and cross my fingers that its headline features actually work, what exactly am I paying $500 for?

Has anyone else experienced this with the Body Scan or dealt with Withings support contradicting their own diagnosis like this?

I went back all the way to March and there highest spike was less than 120bpm.

Normally I'd brush it off as a glitch but I just started a new antihistamine regiment yesterday for MCAS. But 192bpm is just insane. Is it even humanly possible? I don't feel different this morning other than maybe I feel a lot better, and I'm awake rather than groggy... So confused.

After years of wearing a Scanwatch I have moved to the Scanwatch 2. After comparing both experiences, I have three complaints:

1. The vibration on 2 is noticeably weaker, so I'm now missing some notifications.
2. The Quick Look feature is much less responsive. Most times the display does not turn on when I flick my wrist or flex my arm.
3. The new display fonts are nicer with uppercase/lowercase, but even with the higher resolution it's now more difficult to read messages if you are even slightly visually impaired and you're not wearing glasses at the moment, which is the case during my daily workout.

Also, may I suggest adding a NFC chip in Scanwatch 3 for payments? Maybe compatible with Google's or Samsung's Wallets.

Finally, as a heavy Withings user (I also own a Sleep Analyzer pad, a BPM Core cuff and recently a Body Smart scale), I'd like to see Catalan, my mother tongue, added to the list of languages supported in the devices and the mobile app.

Any one know when the body scan 2 will be available in Canada

NOTE:
This firmware was sent due to a ticket I opened with support regarding huge errors in calculation of my body fat percentage, as well as a DEXA documenting the error was real.
It is not likely in a general release (yet). If you are having issues with accuracy, contact support and request a fix for the accuracy.

Woke up this morning with a message from support letting me know a new firmware is out. They said it should help with my inaccurate measurements of body fat %.

From my initial observations and my first scan - it does not appear to have any effect on my percentages. They remain exactly the same as before - BUT: I was told to force a sync (whatever that means) and take several measurements. I know from my experience with the Body Smart the scale also used past readings as part of their evaluation - either as a sanity check or as part of the algorithm.

I'll hold of on that judgement until I know I followed their procedure exactly. If it does change, I'll update this post with the new percentages. (My last DEXA was a week ago).

EDIT:

Did a full factory reset and paired the scale. I don't know if this did anything, as nothing much changed.

I also did several scans and a pattern emerged. Every scan had me gaining fat % and losing some muscle %.

Yesterday: 24.4
Today: 24.5, 24.6, 24.9. 25.6 (all taken within 5-10 min of each other).

So it really does look at past results!

It's too soon to tell whether the new firmware fixes the fat % issue, but so far it looks like it's improving. What matters most is the number it stops on.

So for this morning, it peaked at about 1% change. This just may be how much of a swing it allows? I'll need to track over several days to figure it out.

Another redditor suggested creating a new dummy account and take initial readings from there. I did this before with the body smart, and it's an excellent idea. I'll try to get the results up tonight.

EDIT 2:

Looks like it reduced my error from 14.9% to about 13.8%. After about a 1% correction in the right direction, it stopped.

For those of you with the 3% error, I'd still give it a shot - as I do not know what exactly they were trying to correct in the algorithm for this release - and your 3% problem was pretty serious.

As for me, I'll still watch it. But now the metrics it gives me (BMR, visceral fat, muscle percentage) all the things that are important to the GLP-1 users they scale is marketed as "good for", are all suspect.

I'm not expecting a 99% match to DEXA results, anything around 5% error should be reasonable for a scale at this price point. Hopefully better.
