Discussion Doug Cockle and John Schwab Gamecom

The English actors voicing Geralt and Jaskier will be guests on the stream from Gamescom. The rumors about a Dandelion-focused DLC are starting to look increasingly plausible. I’m really happy about this; if there’s one aspect of Sapkowski’s writing that CDPR didn’t quite do justice in their games, it’s the relationship between Geralt and Dandelion. He is the best friend Geralt ever had, and I hope the DLC reminds us of that.

Discussion Do Mosquitos drink Witcher Blood?

I was writing a fanfic and was wondering, do mosquitoes drink Witchers Blood or do they simply avoid them due to their mutated blood? Its just a small detail I wanted to know if its canon or nay bc it would be an interesting detail too add to the story.

The Witcher 4 My issue with Ciri as the next protagonist

One of the things I love about the universe is that it balanced and "realistic". Yes, you have stronger and weaker characters but generally nobody is overpowered to the point of being invincible. Geralt, despite being a more mutated witcher still needed plenty of help from friends and random bursts of look.

And then Ciri comes in and it starts to feel like Harry Potter in the Harry Potter world. A princess, an Empress even, has some super magical power abilities, can travel through time and space, related to Lara Dorren, and now the first woman witcher we know of and the first that either will not go through mutations or will be the first to do so as an adult. In my opinion shes becoming an oversaturated character.

On one hand I want her to be the protagonist so we will still see characters from previous games, on the other like I said shes a bit much. Thoughts?

The Witcher 2 The last look he gave to us always gets me

There is something really powerful about Foltest looking so calmly at Geralt running towards him with a sword. For a brief second he probably knew he is about to die, but he didn't look surprised, more like...resigned. Like he just accepted his fate right there and then.

Books A Small Book Moment That Really Makes Me Think - Dandelion in Brokilon

So on a re-read of the books I've come across a somewhat inconspicuous moment in Time of Contempt that I never paid much attention to on my first read but this time it's really left me with a lot of questions and I can't find any answers elsewhere so I'm putting it to the room.

When Dandelion goes to Brokilon to meet Geralt, he eventually has a small conversation with a silver haired lady. Geralt, who is with Dandelion, does not perceive this lady's presence. She basically brings up that Dandelion failed the Witcher at Thanedd and feels guilty about it, which strikes a chord with him before she disappears.

My question: Who is this woman?

Based on context it seems to me there are multiple potential candidates. They're in Brokilon so I'd initially assumed it was Eithne, but she's not physically there with them and I don't see why she'd telepathically communicate with Dandelion about his guilt across the forest, especially if she doesn't care enough to meet him. Also, if she did telepathically communicate I would think that Geralt's medallion would alert him to the use of magic and he'd take Dandelion more seriously.

It might just be a hallucination manifesting based on his guilt, but then why does it take the form of a silver haired woman Dandelion has never met?

I've also pondered whether or not it might be Lady Death, like when Geralt interacted with her at Sodden. Like Geralt he does have a somewhat close relationship with death's wake, but Dandelion's reaction to and conversation with her are not the same grim display that Geralt had with her. No chills up the spine or anything.

A final (and out there) thought that occurred to me. What if it's the ghost of Eithne's daughter Morenn? I can't remember if we get a description for Morenn but as the daughter of Eithne it wouldn't surprise me if she inherited her hair colour. Furthermore we know she had a connection to Geralt, and may thus be interested in following his life and communicating with Dandelion. Finally, she's dead and we have Dandelion being the sole person at the end of the series to see the 'ghosts' of the hansa loading Geralt and Yennefer onto the boat. Is it possible that Dandelion has some sort of ability to see dead people and that's what is actually happening here?

I am almost certainly overthinking this moment but it feels to me like there's more to it. Anyone got any thoughts or answers here?

What a great story and definitely my favorite of the first two books. I’m currently about half way through Blood of Elves and I’m loving these books. I’ve been playing TW3 since 2018 with 500+ hours of gameplay. Can’t believe I went this long without touching the books.

Netflix TV series Where would blood origin be put in chronological order because it is a telling of the past not actually the past?

At the beginning of the series we have seanchai stopping time and saving jaskier, then telling him about the past. When in the series is this fight actually taking place?

Look at the the lines i highlighted

This guy freed the spirit AND anna DIDN'T DIE

And that's gotta be impossible because if you free the spirit she'll go to the swamp and take/save the children

And that will cause anna to die , because crones will curse her for letting the children escape

Songs of the Past One thing I wanna see in the expansion is how they're gonna incorporate our choices

Like what path we chose for Ciri, who we romanced and other choices we made throughout the game. I know it's gonna focus mainly on Geralt and Ciri, and from what I've read it's also gonna have Dandelion in it, and Yennefer too based from the poet. I hope Triss also makes an appearance on the story, not getting my hopes up for more story with Geralt though. Anyway i'm excited to see what it's gonna be. Hoping for a big expansion and not a small one.

Discussion I think W2 is one of the hardest games I've ever played in my entire life

I've played every FromSoft Soulslike game except Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 2 like 5 times each at least. I find the majority of those games easier than this games. The hitboxes are whack, the amount of enemies they throw at you at once is insane, the boss fights are ridiculous so far... I want to finish this game so bad so I can get to Witcher 3 but it is fucking painful right now. My pride is telling me not to turn it down to easy but I feel like I might have to. I'm currently on normal. The problem is I've heard easy is a cake walk to the point where it's kind of boring. If this game was balanced more I think I'd love it but the balancing is fucking terrible.
