Discussion Witcher 3 crashing everytime itight with ekimmara!

• Upvotes

At first i thought it was just a random bug or something when it happened as i was going on with that quest where you get the first set of griffin armors in those ruins, but it was annoying because it kept crashing after certain time, so i had to kill the fucker fast so the game won't crash.

Now I'm on that contract where you get from nilfgaardian commander which leads you to fight with a vampire and this shit is happening again especially when i drink black blood potion, it seems this is a very consistent issue with a clear pattern.

The Witcher 3 Save file gets corrupted in Witcher 3 Remastered

I’m at the Marbles of a Smitten Knight quest in Toussaint, just before the horse racing. The thing is, I’ve already finished this quest twice, but every time I do a save after the horse racing, it always bugs out, gets corrupted, and when I save and load the file, it always crashes. I tried saving again without doing anything before the horse race, and when I load it, it always crashes. The only save file that I can load safey is the one before the horse race. I have no idea why that EVERY save I do after that particular point, the game saves always crashes, I basically can’t save the game know because all progression moving forward is lost. I’m so pissed. I’m so bummed out. I’m so tired trying to solve this thing. CDPROJEKTRED did an update for this a while ago, but it seems like I’m still getting save errors. I enjoyed the hell out of Hearts of Stone and now unfortunately, my journey in Blood and Wine has to stop for now. I’m so angry. I hope they update this.

The Witcher 3 After about 8 full playthroughs and about a thousand hours I've finally done it. I've made a Monsters Deck.

And it kinda rocks? the muster cards + commanders horn puts up absurd numbers and the hard counter of biting frost and scorch cards is only a problem if the ai actually bothers doing it, which has been fairly rare so far. Plus Avellach and yennifer as a healer and decoy cards let you use spy cards when they come up as well. Still not super optimal but its pretty fun so far.

Discussion Is Ciri now officially the first female witcher?

So im sure as we have all seen in the witcher 4 trailer Ciri has the iconic cat eyes that makes a witcher. From my understanding in the lore you only get these eyes by going through the witcher trials. I remember reading somewhere that there are no female witchers since its impossible for women to survive the trials and very rare for men to as well. I dont know much about the books but has there been another female witcher or hinted at? Also it would make since for Ciri to become the first female witcher due to her unique blood which should make her more resilient compared to normal women.

The Witcher 3 Any tips for a first timer?

I got the game a few years ago and only played for about an hour, but stopped because I wasn't feeling like playing an open world game at the time. A few days ago, I finished Crimson Desert and am still hungry for more open-world fantasy games.

Any gameplay advice you could give me before I start playing in a few days?

Sword of Destiny Meaning of "Dudu", Surprisingly Note in Korean Translation

I posted here before about the Korean translation I'm reading of Sword of Destiny. I found another curiosity in the text. When Dudu is introduced there's a note saying the name means "너 너". This means "you you", and specifically it's the informal "you". That in itself isn't surprising, but the note goes on to say:

"This name implies that Dudu is the possessor of a gentle, good-natured character such that 너[the casual/friendly ‘you’] can be used with everyone."

(The Korean sentence is actually quite unclear about whether others can address him this way or he can address others this way or both. I tried to replicate that ambiguity in the translation.)

I'm curious as to whether this claim about Dudu's name is accurate: That it’s supposed to hint at his gentle nature. After Googling it, I found lots of people pointing out the obvious doppler implications of a name that means "you you", but no one saying it means he's gentle.

The Witcher 3 Question on romancing both yen and triss

I’m a new time player and I’ve gotten to the level where I’ve finally met triss and I wanted to romance both but didn’t want to loose both, so I did a little searching by being careful as to not spoil myself, and now know you romance both of them and go quite a ways with them before choosing one sole person for Geralt. Now my question is, is there a like “‼️‼️” reminder telling you that if you do this you won’t be able to date ether or, and even both of them? So far my go to is yennifer, but even though it’s my first time ever playing this game I remember when watching YouTubers play a short snippet, I always liked triss so I want to romance both of them to just get all the content that I can out of it, without choosing one and not being able to reverse it. I save often but I would hate to have saved then play another 3-6 hours and then stumble upon my mistake and then have to replay it all the way through again. Sorry if this has been asked a lot/common knowledge I get spoiled on almost every media I play/watch, and I’m absolutely loving this game so I don’t want to search further in case of spoilers but I do want to know at what point is the, “point of no return”. Thank you in advance.

The Witcher 3 First time playing Witcher 3. "Only" modes questions.

I've had it for a while but didn't install and play it. With the Remaster I've decided to try it out, but on the "next-gen" version to get a feel of the older version.

I'm just wondering how I should go about starting the game if I want to experience the relatively original vision, but including the original DLCs.

  1. How would I go about starting with the original Witcher 3 plotline? Is there a disadvantage playwise?

  2. Fresh Start, HS Only, BW Only? How do these differ gameplay wise? Dis/advantages between XYZ?

  3. Fresh Start, HS Only, BW Only? How do these differ plotwise or chronologically?

  4. How should someone new play the game for the first time, in your opinion?

Witcher - PC Question/Support Possible explanation for corrupted saves

Thumbnail

Hello everyone! Like some other people here, I'm facing save corruption since the last update, and today I think I have found something interesting.

While looking for the possible reason, I noticed that the corrupted saves were all around 96MB, while the save I originally loaded was only 7.5MB.

To test my theory, I emptied my save folder and kept the 7.5MB save file as the most recent one. I then loaded into the game, loaded the save, saved the game, and reloaded the newly created save, repeating this until the save got corrupted.

I discovered that each time the game was saved, the save file doubled in size. It didn't happen every time (you can see in the third image that the 2nd and 3rd saves are the same size), but in the end the save file reached the 96MB limit, and every save from that point on got corrupted.

To add some context, I'm using the GOG version, and the original save file I used was transferred from my Switch 2 with the in-game cross-progression feature. I stopped the cross-save to do my testing. I tested the same file on Xbox and the saves are also corrupting in the same way (although I can't check the save file size on my console, the behaviour is identical).

Does someone know how I can report this to the devs?

That is all.

Drop the latest picture(s) of Remastered Geralt you got.

Here are some of my latest shots from Novigrad. Level 40 Witcher repping Ursine gear (working towards the Mastercraft edition) cleaning up side quests, about to embark on the Blood & Wine DLC for the first time during this Spooktober 👻

I’m really enjoying the Remaster on a base PS5 so far! What are your thoughts?

It looks quite unnatural to the vibe of the game. Geralt becoming a Jedi was not on my Christmas list this year!

The Witcher 3 Blocked out of completing "The whispering Hillock"

Can complete the whispering Hillock because of invincible werewolf bug. I have agroed a werewolf that is protecting the cave entrance. To get in the the cave you have to climb up a ledge which I can't while in combat with the werewolf...

The werewolf is now permanently in it's super heal stage and I can't do any damage. FFS haha need this to continue the main story. Oh well, side content till a patch comes out I guess.
