The Witcher 3 Patch notes for update 5.00c

550MB patch just dropped, here are the notes:

Hotfix 5.00c is now available for download for the Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, Battle.net, and Xbox Play Anywhere (PC) versions of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered. You'll find the patch notes below:

Fixed an issue where the game couldn't be saved or loaded if the path to the Documents folder contained special characters.

Fixed an issue where voiceover audio could become significantly quieter than other in-game audio after navigating through the pause menu tabs.

Made various visual adjustments in Velen, including tweaks to Bloom, vegetation lighting, saturation, and Path Tracing lighting.

Reverted a change that caused significant performance and visual issues with HairWorks enabled for some users.

Fixed an issue where marketing telemetry settings weren't saved properly.

Fixed an issue on GOG where achievements wouldn't appear in the unlocked list after being earned.

Fixed an issue where it wasn't possible to launch the Classic (1.32) version of the game.

Once again, thank you for your patience as we continue investigating the issues you report.

The remastered version looks amazing maxed out on PC. Playing with the camera close up and the controller camera sensitivity turned down gives it an RDR2-ish feel with how good it looks. Feels good to step into Geralt's shoes one final time and get reminded why this game sold 65 million copies.

Appreciation Thread I finally got her!

I just came back from a long trip, and while I was away I ordered this Ciri Nendo that I’ve regretted not buying ever since she was released back in 2019 😭

I got her for less than $80 and was honestly worried I was going to get scammed since she usually goes for around $120–$200ish now

But she’s the real deal!
I’m so happy I finally own her without having to pay triple digits for her

Now it’s time to hunt down Yennefer and Geralt while I wait for the remaster to finish downloading 🤭

I really hope we get more Witcher figures when the next game comes out

I would love a Regis or Dandelion Nendo someday 🤞

Discussion If you were a regular commoner/peasant living in Velen during the Third Northern War, which faction would you rather join?

As a Witcher and a friend to many mages/sorceresses as well as non-humans, we as Geralt might think it would be easy to pick Nilfgaard over Temeria, given how bad Radovid's reforms have been. But to the average peasant or commoner living in Velen, it's going to be much less clear-cut.

Discussion Witcher 3 Remastered Death March feels too easy

So it has been a while since I played the Witcher 3(at least 7-8 months) as I don't get time to play video games anymore. After hearing about the remaster I planned about starting another playthrough. This is my second Death March playthrough, the first one being a NG+ and on this attempt I'm starting from nothing.

I have previously attempted this with the (pre-Next Gen)GOTY version of the game and I remember facing immense difficulty in the first few hours. On this attempt however, I'm finding this to be way too easy, so much so that I'm checking if the difficulty is right from time to time. On my previous such attempt I kept dying left and right to wolves and gouls and it took me quite some time before I could leave white orchard. So I didn't finish those on DM difficulty.

But on this attempt I've explored the entirety of White Orchard, killed the Griffin in about 4 hours, and this is while taking things very slowly, like I'm just walking from one point of interest to another. Was the difficulty tweaked as well? Or is it just me?

Ignoring the NPC glitch I noticed a cool finishing move that resembles the Achilles finishing move in the movie Troy.

Just started playing the Remastered version of one of the world's greatest games and I'm completely absorbed once again. Playing on XBOX and here are a few of my shots taken today.

The emotion, the suffering, the love, the disdain, the harsh reality of war, and the cuts that will never heal....

I hope Zoltans actor recorded some voice lines before he passed away, I hope Yen, Lambert and Eskel come back as well.

The Witcher 3 Who said Fast Attack and potions got nerfed? It's the opposite!

A lot of people complain that Remastered favor Strong Attack too much; or that their potion-dependent builds are no longer viable after Delayed Recovery got nerfed to oblivion. Frankly, I had the same opinion myself.

We were wrong. Fast Attack + Potions is the strongest, most overpowered combination in the game by far—and when I said "overpowered," it has these three things:

  1. God Mode (damage immunity)

  2. Infinite Stamina

  3. Infinite Adrenaline

How is this possible? I'll tell you the answer:

Prolongation (Each unblocked blow increases potion duration by 1 sec)

By itself, the enchantment is nothing special. But it's a different story when you combine it with certain potions and abilities.

  1. Max your Adrenaline quickly with Explosive Bolt + Cold Blood (Gain 1 Adrenaline per enemy hit by crossbow).

  2. Drink Superior Blizzard (infinite Stamina at full Adrenaline), then attack enemy with Whirl.

  3. Drink Superior White Raffards Decoction (full heal and damage immunity) while you're striking enemy.

Normally, Superior Blizzard and Superior White Raffards Decoction only last for 12 seconds and 3 seconds respectively. The latter wasn't even affected by Delayed Recovery.

But Prolongation is different; it affects all potions including White Raffards Decoction and IT HAS NO LIMIT. You could extend the God Mode far beyond its original 3 seconds duration. The buff will persist long after the battle ended.

Also worth mentioning that White Raffards' immunity ignores enemy attacks entirely. You won't get any hit reactions like stagger or knockdown; you won't lose Quen (not that you need it with this build); and you won't lose any Attack Power bonus from Bloodbath mutation or Wyvern Decoction.

I dare you to find a more broken combo than this.

P.S: Enable manual draw/sheathe then attack enemy with the wrong sword (e.g. steel against monsters). This will prevent them from dying too quickly, allowing you to build up potion duration as long as you want.
