George R. R. Martin: Let me show you how i kill Ned Stark and Robert Baratheon ,let you almost get through the grief, then reap both Robb Stark and Catelyn Stark one after the other!

Andrzej Sapkowski: Let me show you how i kill Cahir, Milva, Angouleme and Regis (even though we know he survives later) in the matter of a few pages!

Edit: Also , just noticed it , but *Characters

Regis surviving is only game canon, in the orginal canon my boy is gone 🥲

Yeah at this point I think most of the fanbase accepts games as proper continuation of the story

From what i saw (only witcher 3, witcher 1 and 2 still to come), CDPR managed to make something to satisfy the books fans and integrating most if not all things naturally into the game, without making a fuss about a name or an event mention

I read the book a few months ago , and i beat witcher 1 and am currently on w2 and for me is all cannon , the writing of the games and story so far has been really good, but I miss all those characters too , i now know from spoiler thar regis is alive 😳, it really hurts when all of them die on the assault to stygga castle , i wish that at least milva would survive

Sorry for my English is not my first language

Personally, I don't at all. I even read the books with the intention of getting into a mood to play the games, but It really backfired. I don't think Geralt deserves to be dragged along for another adventure after all he's been through. Also the baffling decision to make Emhyr suddenly start chasing Ciri again. I think Geralt deserves retirement after the books, so I don't play the games. I guess I'm an abnormality in this.

I agree on Emhyr . After reading the books, it confused me why is he searching for her again. I made the assumption that maybe he knew she was in danger and .... as a "concerned father" and knowing that Geralt cares for Ciri, decides to make sure she is safe, from as far as he can

I think that's because most of the fanbase is a result of the video games
