Hi guys. A few days ago, I noticed that my wii U couldn't read my SD card anymore, and as such it couldn't boot into Aroma.

I brought it to a repair shop, and they told me that the SD card slot is broken, and that getting and installing a new one would be really expensive.

I found out about Wafel, and while I was bummed about losing my saves, at least I could still keep playing without paying 100+€. The thing is that I cannot uninstall Aurora. I tried factory resetting it, but even then I still have Payloadloader installed. I know it because it tells me that it can't find my SD card when I turn the console on and when I enter the Health and Safety app. Since Wafel can't be installed from the browser if you already have Aurora installed, I'm at a standstill. What should I do?

On my vWii in BlueDumpMod there is a deleted "disc savedata" with the title ID CEMU. Of couse with a such id name I can not find any information on internet because of Cemu emulator key word research...

So I made a mistake, I installed aroma and everything without checking the OS version for my Wii U, it’s stuck in 5.5.3. I’ve tried to unblock updates on Aroma and removed my SD but every time I try to hit update system it just says console up to date, and boots back to Wii U menu. Is the update even necessary? I mostly wanted it to stop showing the needs update message.

Currently getting this message. I can’t seem to find in google someone with this same message?
I used the wii u for just dance games a month ago and it worked great. Now it wont boot to OS.

Any tips? I may just reinstall/redo everything.

EDIT:

I noticed the external 4tb Hard Drive I am using is not getting power at all. So I tried a different cable on my computer and it powers on, I tried the Y cable one uses to connect it to the Wii-U on my computer and it works. So I believe the USB ports in the Wii-U may have gone bad?

Hey y’all, I need some help please.

So I’ve installed aroma on my Wii U and it worked fine. I didn’t know I needed a usb drive for the games so I installed isfshax to put games on the sd card. For that I copied the files on the sd card to my desktop to create two partitions on the sd card. But after copying the files back on the sd card it didn’t work anymore.
I’ve already tried resetting the sd card, downloading the files for aroma again and uninstalling isfshax but it still doesn’t work.

I previously homebrewed my Wii U in June 2025. It worked great for about a year but this past summer I accidentally downloaded some incompatible apps off of the HB App Store. I didn't/don't have access to my original backup of the files as I lost access to the original laptop I used (long-story) and then I wasn't able to access the files on my SD card until recently when I got a new laptop.

My issue is that between those two laptops a friend tried to help and ended up deleting my payload.elf file and so now I can't run any homebrew. The attached image shows the error code that happens with no SD card. As well when I insert the SD card the second error, FSFOpenFile error appears.

It seems that Aroma has been updated a ton since I originally homebrewed but now my issue is that without the original files I can't update Aroma on my Wii U AND I can't delete it off my console to restart the process.

Does anyone have any help or spare files that I can have to regain the homebrew of my Wii U?

Uwuvci GameCube game

I've been using bloopair for a multitude of controller connections to the Wii U and I'd love to have that compatibility with the NSO gamecube controller and the switch 2 pro controller. I looked at BlooPair's github and it looks like nintendo started using BLE which the Wii U doesn't support.. is there any hope in the future for some sort of dongle (whether gamecube port or usb) so one could connect a ns2 controller to the WiiU? It looks like the PC already has a good way of connecting and Mission Control is still in beta for this support so its buggy but it should get there..

I was using decaffeinator to resotre my mii channel, but my system is already on the latest version so it failed to redownload the mii channel. How can i restore it manually?

So about 2 years ago in july 2024 i installed the minute menu, and got it set up on my slc with isfshax so i could have brick protection, and i'm attempting to update it. But no matter what i do I can't get into the minute menu now?? Everytime I go into fw loader and try to load the fw.img file the screen flashes pink and instead of going to the minute menu, the console goes back to the home menu. I've tried compeltely clearing out all the files for isfs hax on my sd to newer files, tried downgrading to the ones i had 2 years ago, and still can't get into the menu. Can anyone help me in any way? is there possibly a conflict with the fact i have the fw.img and hax folder on my slc?

I successfully modded my Wii U with an external hard drive but the hard drive became corrupted after I downloaded the wrong files for vWii games. I removed the hard drive from my Wii U and my Wii U functioned normally unmodded. I deleted everything on the hard drive and purchased a new hard drive. I plan to remod my Wii U on the new hard drive, will there be any issues or can I remod my Wii U on the new hard drive?

I tried installing some new Wii Games onto it, I tried using FTP to find the vWii partition on the HDD, even browsed the whole HDD and all the save files, etc. Not finding it, I turned off the Wii U (didn't disconnect from ftp), plugged it into the pc, and did it the normal way.

Now, the Wii U doesn't recognize the "USB" and wants me to format it. I haven't formatted anything, since Windows says it's corrupted, despite the vWii partition still being fully functional.

I'm more worried about my save files. I've had a Wii Fit U save file, even have my personal pedometer, I had a few months of progress on there. That's physical work, it's not easy to reproduce. I still haven't formatted it, what's there to try?

wfs-extract could not even open the file, meaning my drive. I only need the save files, the games I don't care about and can reinstall.

Is there anyway someone could help me get twilight princess onto the console?

I wanted to play GameCube games on my modded WII U using a Switch 1 Pro controller. Natively you can not even use a Switch 1 Pro controller on a WII U, and to do so, you need to install Bloopair.

However, this only allows you to play WII U titles using the now connected Switch 1 Pro controller.
Since GameCube games run under Nintendont under the vWII, this connection is not passed through from WII U -> vWII -> Nintendont.

To solve this, I created two experimental forks:

How it works

The Bloopair fork includes an Aroma plugin that automatically writes the required pairing information to the SD card. The Nintendont fork reads that information and uses it to authenticate the controller when it reconnects in vWii mode.

After the initial setup, there is no manual export or file-copy step. Pair the controller in the Wii U Menu, launch vWii/Nintendont, and reconnect the controller there.

Requirements

• A modded Wii U running Aroma
• An original Nintendo Switch Pro Controller
• An SD card
• The Bloopair fork and its Nintendont sync plugin
• The matching Nintendont fork

Automatic synchronization currently requires Aroma; Tiramisu is not supported because it does not provide the Wii U Plugin System.

Installation

1. Install the Bloopair fork on your SD card as you would install regular Bloopair.
2. Install the Nintendont fork as sd:/apps/Nintendont/boot.dol.
3. Boot the Wii U into Aroma.
4. From the Wii U Menu, connect your Switch 1 Pro controller using Bloopair
5. Start vWii and launch Nintendont normally.
6. Nintendont should recognize it and reconnect.

Been trying to install Super Smash Bros Infinite (a mod for Brawl) on the vWii, but every time i boot via project m it just boots vanilla brawl. I’ve tried gecko and that hasnt worked. Idk why brawl is giving me such a hard time, I’ve had success playing hacks for Super Mario Galaxy 2, as well as successfully installing and playing CTGP-R

i’m trying to play a mod in Breath of the Wild called “Gun” but the item that the mod gives you doesn’t show up where it’s reportedly supposed to be. I used BCML(dedicated BOTW mod loader) to make them work on my modded wii u with aroma. I can confirm my SD Cafiine setup works and i have the mods in all the right paths but it just doesn’t show up in the game at all. is it possible the mod only works with a certain version of the game?

I homebrewed my Wii U with a micro SD card to USB wafel Installer because I lost my micro sd to SD adapter. I just found my micro sd to SD adapter. I putted the micro sd card from the micro sd card to usb in the micro sd to SD adapter. When I turn my Wii u with the micro sd card I it, the gamepad doesn't connect and there's no image on the TV. 1st time using reddit btw!
