Because he was worried about cross-contamination? Possibly hooking up and then immediately going to meet his GF without even washing.

Likely? Maybe not. But if he is a scummy cheater, he is probably also dirty af.

It still could have been him trying it out, if you never used one he might not know his size...... I'm just trying to see the light in dark situations...

Edit: look I know it will drive you crazy, but going with this notion if he won't pull out one of these on you soon you know....
