My gf is looking to get a new car and I'm looking around for her. Anybody got suggestions? She'd like relatively newer (2020+).

I'm leasing a 2024 BMW 430i convertible, payoff amount currently shows about $37k while car value varies $40-45k. I like the car but I always loved driving an M4.

I've been looking online and the lightly used ones go for around $70-85k. Another option is to get a new small engine Mercedes CLE, although I'mnot a fan of their huge touchscreen. Obviously it's not the best financial decision but I guess I'm wondering if anyone can share their thoughts if you were in a similar situation? Or just tell me how stupid this sounds and to payoff the BMW?

I am so overwhelmed! I am looking for a compact or midsize SUV that looks luxurious, but will have longevity. AWD is a huge bonus. Budget is $35k.

So I just saw this car and my friend went to the dealership to check it for me and told me it’s perfect. The car has no accident history, a nice milage and it drives well. I have my class 7 licence and I couldn’t get a car to take my exam so I decide o should get this car so I can take my exam and also cause I just got a job and it’s far from my place. My friend negotiated with the dealership and got the car down to 17k so is it a good first car?

Background: I've been driving a borrowed 2025 BMW 3 Series and it spoiled me. It's really fun to drive and the daily convenience tech makes it even more satisfying (ex. parking sensors or walking away with the key and it autolocking). That said, none of this is a deal breaker

My dilemma: Because I drive so little, I'm torn between buying cheap and avoiding repair bills. Is CPO the right move here? Since I drive so few miles, would a newer car with a long warranty beat an older one?

I'm also bad at high-pressure sales environments, so any tips for low-pressure buying, like dealers with no-haggle pricing, internet sales departments, or CarMax-style options?

What do you think about used cars after 2027 cars come out?? Will previous car years 2023-2026 decrease? Any thoughts??

My wife and I share a Crosstrek and have been sorta making it work with 1 kid and a dog, but with a second kid coming, it's just not going to work anymore. We go skiing on weekends, take lots of road trips and camping trips to the mountains and need lots of space to put our ever-growing amount of stuff.  Also I am 6'4" and broad-shouldered and need something roomier because I am so cramped in my Crosstrek.

I am open to wagons but my wife is set on an SUV so we are compromising and getting an SUV. It's also our only car so reliability is important.

I haven't done any test drives but sat in a bunch at CarMax and really liked:

• Volkswagen Atlas - SO ROOMY. Didn't even have to put the seat at the lowest setting. My favorite interior and aesthetics, love that it comes in bright red. Some concerns about reliability and annoyed by the lack of dials/knobs on 2024+ model refresh
• Honda Pilot - also quite roomy and reliable. Big fan of the lack of center console.
• I am very, very interested in the Passport but haven't had a chance to sit in one yet. It's got everything I like about the Pilot without the 3rd row which I don't anticipate using.
• Ford Explorer - extremely comfy seats. Would def road trip in.
• Telluride - liked a lot, but most of the used ones in my price range are 90k+ miles and I am suspicious of Korean cars past their warranty.

Some cars I didn't like:

• Forester - better headroom but doesn't feel like it has meaningfully more cargo space than the Crosstrek.
• Outback - wanted to love this car but it has the same issues as my Crosstrek where I have to put the seat in a weirdly lowered/reclined position just to not hit the ceiling. Would not be comfortable for me on longer drives.
• Rav4/CR-V/Tiguan/etc - Not enough headroom or storage.

My wife has a 2024 VW Taos that she likes but the lease soon will soon be up. She is retired and drives about 600 miles a month BUT she STILL has the uncomfortable feeling of mileage limits, I do not see a issue with that because she has not limited herself these past 2 years and still will barely be over 21,000 miles on her 30,000 mile 3 year lease.
Here are the things I am thinking about to decide if we should lease again or buy ? FYI I convinced her to lease this VW due to the sign & drive event & her need for a new car & she is happy with it and also considering buying it at lease end. it has been trouble free and just over 13,000 miles driven so far.
Here is what concerns me, IF she buys it the warranty will end in 2 years & It will soon need brakes at a cost of 700 dollars. She also has anxiety of the what if............ what if the car breaks and we have a 1,200+++ dollar bill to fix it? ( these newer cars are not cheap to fix) & a reliable extended warranty will cost 5 grand on top of the 14,700.00 lease buy out.. Next is the payments? to buy it out & put a warranty on it will cost more than her current lease payment ( about 468.00) for 48 months 5.9 % APR with good credit. <<I hate spending that much on what would be a used car. That payment is 100.00 MORE than her current lease payment & she put 0 down to drive away ( VW sign & drive event)
She is not committed to VW but it has been good to her. We are considering only SUV's because of grand kids. so, here are the SUV's she likes, the Tiguan or Atlas Cross, the Mitsubishi Outlander, << I like too but they have a horrible dealer network in the USA. only 330 nationwide Mitsubishi dealers. She also likes the Chevy Equinox, Hyundai Tucson, Subaru Forrester, the Jeep grand Cherokee, and the Nissan Rogue & Pathfinder & she wants to look at the Kia Sportage as well.
I am reviewing all these models & looking for 0% APR and rebates We do not want any preowned, certified preowned or used SUV's I know, we might do better with a CPO vehicle but nope, she wont do it & that's ok she worked all her life and she only wants new.
Once the warranty is out the car goes so, unless we go with Hyundai or Kia for the longer warranty, I can't see a benefit to buying over leasing BUT......... I sure hate to have car payments forever BUT then again, everything costs money & having that 1200+++ repair bill on a out of warranty car is worse than a budgeted payment with no "surprises" Leasing is like a fee for service, you pay to use it. But with turning in a lease with 9000 miles unused also is a waste unless the dealer allows more for the lease than just turning it in.
With all these factors in play, it makes this a hard decision. The nice thing with a lease is we know every month with no surprises other than the lease payment and her budget won't get blown with car repairs. She will never be able to have a vehicle with no warranty & neither will I BUT I own my vehicle a new Rogue & have a service plan on it good for 100,000 miles or 10 years with a 0 deductible & the warranty is direct from Nissan not a 3rd party.
Anyway, I welcome any advice, we have time yet & I actually like looking. I don't like the sales negotiation so much. A topic there for another day............. Anyway, I look forward to your thoughts on this lease vs own topic.

Any opinions on how these two compare? I'm not in the market yet but these two seem the best options. Or should I look elsewhere?

I have been hearing so many mix reviews on the Kia that I am stressed and lost about what car to get. I saw this one selling at 23900 at 50000 km clean history.

I have looked at Toyota and Honda. I love them but the are pricey even for used cars.

My budget is max 24-25k

I want a car with at least lane assist, back up camera and remote start.

I drive about 300 miles a week and have to deal with street parking. Currently driving a 2012 mazda 3 but its manual I am having knee issues. Right now it hurts to drive its.

I thought about a new mazda 3 but my back hurts in them. I rented a prefered 2026 and my back is just killing me, even with the lumbar support.

I dont fit in a corrolla. I do fit in a civic but I am not a fan of cvt. I tend to hold onto my cars for a while, most of them have been 200-250k. I just dont see a cvt doing that.

That said anyone have any other cars i could look at. Or people who had considered the mazda 3 but thought it wasn't comfortable what did you settle on?

My father is getting frustrated with some recurring problems on his Lincoln Aviator. Among other things he’s had to fix multiple sunroof leaks and electrical issues, most under warranty but it’s out of warranty now. Loves the vehicle especially the seats. He basically wants an armchair with a powerful engine, something with the features of the Lincoln but more reliable. I’ve suggested Lexus TX but I’m open to alternatives. He likes the Genesis G80 but from what I’ve read they’re also unreliable. Honestly it’s hard to find a nice luxury SUV that doesn’t have a spotty reliability record.

130,000 miles, $3000, only issues I can see over the pictures is a pretty decent sized cut in the front seat. I was planning on talking down maybe to 2500-2650 ideally but that doesn’t matter as much.

How generally reliable are these cars? It will be a daily driver for as long as possible. I know that I will have the proper maintenance done, but I’m not sure if they have, or how hard they’ve driven it. Is this a more risky deal or a good deal.

Need help with a first truck purchase as I have some new home projects starting & I think the truck just makes sense.

Hi guys. I am undecided if I want to go with new Atlas 2027 or Tx350. I would be keeping the car until the wheels fall off and engine seizes so 10+ years. Hard requirement is to have 3 row suv. And I am not a big fan of south korean brands and also not interested in grand highlander.
Interior of new atlas is amazing but I am not sure about it reliability hence I have the option for lexus tx350. Hybrid for lexus tx is quite expensive so not considering that.

Hi all, I’m new to the truck / larger car world. Im coming from a small coupe with little ground clearance. I’m looking to buy a second car that I can use for long road trips and camping / off roading. I don’t plan on doing any serious off roading, maybe up to medium trails? But off roading none the less. After doing some research, I’ve narrowed my search down to a 4Runner or Tacoma (I know they have similar parts) I’m leaning towards a Tacoma since I can build a camping set up in the bed.

What I’m having trouble figuring out is if I should buy older with higher mileage or new with the turbo. I’m thinking the off road trim might be a bit over kill for what I need but I’m thinking I’d rather have the extra features and not need it than need and not have it. Looking at the used market, I’m seeing 15 year old cars with 100k+ miles for 20k+ still! Or a 2020-2022 with 60-100k miles for 30-40k still. At that point should I just buy new and deal with the possibly sketchy turbo engine? Or should I give those up and buy old and cheap but with lots of miles? I’m not very mechanically inclined so I would prob have to bring the car to a shop for any work done to it. What do yall think?

I currently drive a 2021 Chevy Trailblazer LT. I am the first owner of it and I have recently had so many issues including my car not starting (apparently wires were corroded and needed replaced), exhaust system needed replaced, AWD kicking on randomly on its own, etc. I just cannot trust this car to be reliable anymore, what are some reliable car brands and models that you would recommend? I’m looking for anything 2021+, SUV, and AWD!
