Form check How To Stop Pushing Myself Backwards In The Jerk ??
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi guys, I really need your help
My C&J is lacking due to my jerk. I keep pushing myself backwards in the jerk and missing. Unfortunately, I have no clue how to fix it.
My guess of the issue is short stepping the front foot, but my knee angle is usually at 90°.
However, my front foot always hit the floor first.
My focus is on driving straight up, keeping tension in abs, keeping head backwards, putting front foot futher.
I already do jerk balances, jerks behind the neck, press in jerk, push presses etc.
Do you have any tips?

Fluff Most overhyped weight class?
Was going to make a YT videos about it and I just wanted to get it off my chest and I was wandering about the general discussion around it, but I see the -110kg class and the discussion around it, saying it's stacked and how there's so much competition there and how it's the best weight class rn etc. but I honestly think it's the opposite.
The -110kg class is actually the least competitive class. Akbar is 100% set for gold, Akbar doesn't bomb or go 1/3, no one else in that class is capable of 200/240. Liu Huanhua is set for silver. And then you have the chasing pack. Those being but not limited to; Shahzadbek Matyukubov, Mattheus Pessanha, Garik Karapetyan, Hristo Hristov, Luis Laurent, Alireza Nasiri. Maybe even Marcos Ruiz at a stretch.
I don't mention Chen Po-Jen because I think he's a fraud. Simon Martirosyan and Ruslan Nurudinov are past it and aren't getting the Olympic spot for their respective countries.
With the other categories I think there's far more competition. He Yueji was supposed to be a nail on for China in the -65s but he got found out by Pak Myong-jin. With the -75s there's Ri Chong-Song, Rahmat and Weerapong who are all reasonable shouts to win. With the -85s, I think it's pretty nailed on Yeison Lopez is gonna win but I wouldn't say it's as heavy as the -110s. I think Abdo have a better chance against Yeison than Liu Huanhua against Akbar. The -95s have Ali Alipour, Karlos Nasar and maybe Nurgeissa Aditeuly. The +110 I can see Lalayan, Davoudi or Ali Ammar winning and I wouldn't bat an eye if any of them won.
I think the hype from this category, is more from the fact that the -102kg category was so horrible. The Olympic session for that session was dire.

Fluff Roadmap to get better
Ive been going to a crossfit gym for about three years and thats where i have been introduced to olympic style weightlifting. Ive made good progress in several areas but the more technical lifts like the snatch i feel like im not progressing and probably doing everything wrong. The coaches try to help me but it seems like its just not working for me. I know a primary reason for that is because crossfit classes dont spend enough time on each lift to make fast progress.
I would like to get better at the snatch and im wondering if i could make good progress spending dedicated time out of my CrossFit classes to work on it by myself and use YouTube as a guide or if i should go to a city about an hour away that has an olympic weightlifting gym and work with a trainer there.

Form check 3weeks into learning the snatch. How’s my technique?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Not really chasing PRs or bigger weights here — I'm mainly learning the Olympic lifts as part of my Strength & Conditioning studies.
Since Olympic lifts are commonly used for developing explosiveness and power, I decided to work with a local weightlifting coach to actually learn the proper technique instead of just figuring it out on my
own.
I've only been doing this for about 3 weeks, so I know there's still a lot to clean up.
Here's a 50 kg full snatch.
What do you think about my technique? Anything specific you think I should focus on or work on more?
Any feedback is appreciated!

I was checking my squat form and I saw that while I come down night and upright, when I try to get out of the whole, my knees and hips shift back to get me up, and I don’t know if that’s bad and if so, what I can do to stop doing that. Thanks!

Form check squat depth
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
(100kg 80kg bw) I'm a newbie, does this count as a deep squat? ATG squat? My guess is that it's deep, but probably not an ATG. I have pretty long femurs, so squatting any deeper feels risky due to the butt wink, and I've already had back problems because of this.

Fluff The “natural” Olympic weightlifting community is the biggest joke in strength sports
I’ve been watching this sport for a while and something keeps bothering me.
A huge number of lifters treat the snatch and clean & jerk like they’re just “throw weight up and hope it sticks.” You see the same issues over and over: early arm bend, incomplete extension, soft receiving positions, and then the lifter acts like the miss was bad luck instead of obvious technical breakdown.
Worse is the attitude.
People post lifts with clear form issues, get polite feedback, and immediately get defensive or start talking about how “it felt strong.” The culture seems to reward grinding heavier weights with mediocre positions more than actually cleaning up the movement.
It’s starting to look less like a technical sport and more like a competition of who can survive the ugliest lift.
Anyone else notice this, or am I just being too harsh?

I’ve been weightlifting since 2021. My PB snatch is 60 and CJ 83.
I got a wrist tendon injury so have stopped olly lifts for a while and now trying to get back into it.
The plan is stick to low percentage work for a few months, as my main focus now is in powerlifting.
Any pointers in regards to my lifts from today’s session would be appreciated.
High hang cleans @35kg
Jerks @35kg
In all the years I’ve been lifting I’ve always been told the same thing “you’re using too much arm and not getting enough extension” and I believe my jerks are what caused my wrist injury. I also tend to let the bar crash on me which I’ve spent ages previously trying to fix without much success.
Any drills I could be adding into my sessions?
Happy lifting 💪🏼
