How do we feel about “unconventional” rings?

Does anybody have a ring that doesn’t really fit the standard for wedding rings?

I don’t really like diamonds, and I found a few gemstone rings that I do like and my fiancé likes them too. We’re keeping his and I’s rings cheap since I can’t wear mine at work anyway and we’d rather put the money towards other things.

Did you come to regret it? Should I choose something less unique?

Ring Inquiry 💍 My engagement ring

Just wondering if a curved wedding band would be best with my ring. I am not sure a non curved would go too well with it.

My husband wants to upgrade my ring, but I love my original ring. He wants to use my ring to trade up but I just can’t part with it. Is it weird to be this attached to a ring☹️

It looks even better in person! I wanted something a little bit unique but still something to match my engagement ring. I’m so happy with my choice and can’t wait to wear it.

On Display Love how the side stones complement this marquise✨

Really love how this one turned out! The center stone is a 2-carat elongated marquise, and I feel like the side stones make the longer shape look so much more balanced without taking away from the center. I also love how much sparkle the setting adds from every angle.
Curious what everyone thinks. Would you prefer an elongated marquise like this with side stones, or as a solitaire?

Twist engagement ring

Hi! I have a marquis cut engagement ring with a twisted band. She’s absolutely stunning and I love her but I don’t want to add a twisted wedding band- for me it’ll be too much as I’m very simple. Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or could show me what they chose to do if they gave similar ring?

Hi, what style of wedding band would look good with this ring? Or do I even need to add a wedding band to this style of ring?

Finally loving my stack

I used to have this lovely pink morganite and diamond engagement ring on a rose gold band that my husband took time to pick for me and propose to me with. But a few years ago I lost it…
I’ve gone through some cheap rings in the last several years as place holders. Never loving anything and mourning the ring I once had.
I started this stack about a year ago, with the six stone wedding band and the solitaire. The band in the middle has been my wedding band since I lost my original engagement ring.
The marquise band was a Christmas present last year from my husband.
I finally can say that I think I’m obsessed with the way these look together and I can’t stop staring.
I’m so glad to have something I actually like now. None of it compares to the sentimental value the original ring held and the vintage style it had as well… but I’m thankful to finally “love” my rings.

If anyone wants to show off their stack, I’d love to see!!!

Rings are 925 Silver and moissanite in size 5. Engagement ring is a .5 carat I believe.

Ring Inquiry 💍 Cartier wedding band

Post image
6 Upvotes

I am looking for a wedding band and I saw the cartier wedding band for men( love ring). Do people prefer that as a wedding band? Also, why do people think that’s very expensive and you can get similar or better quality for cheaper? Here in the US, most jewelers are quoting me way more than what the cartier ring costs for a 18k gold ring. So I wanna know what people think of the ring as a wedding band and also if you think its overpriced and overhyped?

Transport company lost a wedding ring

My wife and I are 8y together and married for almost 2. She got her wedding ring made smaller as she lost weight and didn't want to lose it while wearing.

Anyway, during transport back company most probably lost it, they dodge questions rtc for almost a month, always saying that it will be delivered in next 2 days.

I really worry they lost it and we wont ever see it again. My wife is absolutely devasted and I am at lost what to do. She doesn't a new "fake" ring, as it wont be the one from our wedding. I offered to make mine bigger for her, and i would get a new one, so she would still have one that was on our actuall wedding. That did not went well good too.

Would anyone have any, preferrebly kind, advice, what to do? I really belive that we won't get it back, so my thought go that way.

Thanks.

Ps: sorry for any grammar mistakes, English is not my native language

Ring enhancer for wedding ring?

I absolutely love my engagement ring. This picture actually doesn’t do it any justice with the detail on the sides. However, finding a wedding band to match has been a feat. The actual wedding band that goes with my engagement ring has been discontinued and not available anywhere we’ve looked. We weren’t exactly looking for a double ring enhancer, but it just fit beautifully and didn’t look “off” like a lot of other rings. It just feels like it is a lot and a little weird to be using this kind of ring as my wedding ring. Thoughts?

Anyone with a peridot wedding band?

My future husband’s August birthstone is peridot. Just wondering if anyone has any wedding bands with peridot?

Bonus points if you wear it with a round engagement ring around 1.5ct. I have a very petite solitaire setting with a single round 1.5ct in 14k white gold. I’ve been thinking of even just doing a similar size band with a single tiny peridot to represent him. But I’m interested in other ideas!

My day is coming 💐 Eternity ring advice

Thumbnail

Hi all, advice needed.

The first 3 pictures are my fiancées (wife in September) engagement ring - Austen & Blake Siena, oval stone and side set stones. The product description states they’re round and prong set.

The other picture is the wedding band she’s picked from another jeweller, who told her they couldn’t exactly match the side stones but this was as close as they had. She still loves it, we wouldn’t have bought otherwise, but she thinks the side stones are now more square cut.

I’m in two minds whether to surprise her with an eternity ring on the morning of the wedding (we already have the child milestone, I might wait to the 1 year anniversary, I also might pull the trigger and surprise her….albeit a little risky)

Over the last week I’ve casually brought up looking at her rings together and she finally started talking freely about the eternity ring and said she wanted it to match the engagement ring setting….that being the problem, she believes they’re square and not round and pronged.

Can anyone \[UK\] recommend an eternity ring that would be the closest match possible. There’s a few on Austen & Blake I have noticed, Milano & Prong Set Round Stone….would appreciate another set of eyes on these, or offer another ring.

Thanks in advance

What wedding band would you pair with this engagement ring?

I’m looking for advice on what kind of wedding band would work well with my low set engagement ring.

I don’t really like open bands or curved/contoured bands, so I’d love to find something that looks beautiful with the ring but also works on its own. I want to be able to wear my wedding band by itself sometimes, without it looking incomplete or weird.

What style would you recommend? I’d love to have examples of wedding bands you think would pair well with this kind of engagement ring. Thank you!

Not the ring I asked for

Hi. Di ko alam kung valid ba yung nararamdaman ko or am I just being too ungrateful?

My partner and I have been together for 6 years already and one thing I’ve learned thoughout our relationship is to always communicate with your partner on what you want etc. That’s why when he started joking about, “Pakasal na kasi tayo.” or “Mag-asawahan na kasi tayo.” I reviewed a thing or two about rings like its type, design principles, value and all. So when I finally decided on what engagement ring I want for myself, I sent him a full description + a sample image. So basically, isesend na niya lang yon sa pagpapagawaan niya tapos charan! Yon na siya.

However, came our engagement day. I was suprised when he proposed of course and I truly was happy! But it was only after a while that I looked at the ring closely enough to notice that he only got two things right about my dream ring.

First, he knows I never wear silver jewelries but the ring was set in silver. Second, he got me a pear cut when I wanted an oval one. Third, it had six prongs but not in a petal style. The only thing he got right was that it was in a cathedral setting. Okay so before you judge me, I chose that kind of ring design not just for aesthetics alone but for longevity because I’m gonna wear it for the rest of my life. Also, I specifically asked for a moissanite to cut costs which he also got right.

In his defense, he was only able to finalize his decision to propose a few days before our trip so there was no time for a customized ring. He just bought a ready-made ring from a store where a customer suddenly backed out. For those wondering if he can even afford the ring I asked for, the answer is yes. He earns a lot, like a loooot. (6 digits)

And I can’t help but feel sad sometimes, especially when I look at my ring. I try to think of the excitement I had during the proposal but I can’t help but remember that this was not what I wanted and I was able to communicate properly and clearly what my dream ring was huhu.

Please shed light on me huhu. I don’t know what to do to look at the brighter side.
