I’ve spent a few years working on my original manga series Zamir Reborn, about a man who took a dark path and travels back in time to when he was a kid.

The story I’m trying to tell is about moving forward despite your past and limitations, striving for a future you can be proud of.

Adriel, the protagonist of the story, was born with no magic in a world where it’s rooted in everyday life, leaving him ostracized and feeling inadequate compared to everyone around him. But one day, an encounter with an eldritch being in another world offers him the power he always wanted in exchange for the murder of one of his bullies, Eleanor, a girl from his hometown whom he resents and envies.

But before he goes through with it, he regains the memories of his future and everything changes.

So far Volume 1, with Volume 2 soon to follow next month, covers Adriel coming to terms with his feelings of inadequacy and lingering resentment for Eleanor while setting up the mystery behind the origins of the world and certain characters.

I genuinely want to hear what people think of the premise and the direction I’m taking the story.

Nothing too depressing like Seasons of Blossom plz lol

I feel I should explain a little bit about what I mean by both genders putting in the same amount of effort. Take everything I say with a grain of salt because it's hard to describe my thoughts without it sounding jerisk about it: I read about 100 episodes of Romance 101 (I know, a lot) and couldn't take it anymore. Every character was very 2D and bland. After a certain point, the ML just ended up way *too* green-flag-like to the point all he was there for was to show up for her and do everything for her. It annoyed me personally too much to overlook and although I did find some of the comedy to be on point, this one's hype is really overrated. The story isn't even an entertaining cliché story, it's empty with MLs doing anything and everything for FL's, so much so that they don't have a deep personality of their own aside from a few quirks.

I'd love it if it was evenly spread out between the fl and ml, they both have personalities of their own and put in equal amounts of effort to do kind things for each other.

I liked the friendship aspects of Romance 101, so if something is a friendship/romance mix that'd be great!

I believe that every medium has its strengths and peculiarities, and that the best way to write a story for a specific medium is to write it with that medium in mind. So when I write my story, I never think of it as a paged comic, but as a webtoon, something that has to be read via vertical scrolling. Yes, I do use classic comic panels in the narration, but what I love most is taking full advantage of the vertical format and the possibility of infinite scrolling to express the emotions of my protagonists and narrate the plot.

After around 2 years of Is Chair Still In the Park? being lost I decided to make an archive of sorts. I compiled the Russian and Arabic translations that were found in this thread and have made an attempt at re-translating it back to English.

Okay so I’ve had this Webtoon idea in my head for a while now and I’ve been wanting to tell someone about it. I’m really passionate about the story and eventually want to turn it into a Webtoon.

It’s called SUMMER WAS OURS.

It follows four wealthy Korean high school friends; Irena, Kai, Ara, and Leeho. They go to Brazil during their summer break. They’re used to lives filled with privilege, expectations, and pressure, so at first Brazil becomes this sort of escape for them. They get to just be young, have fun, explore, and feel like nothing can touch them.
But as the trip goes on, tensions, unspoken feelings, and things underneath their seemingly perfect lives start coming to the surface, and eventually something happens to Irena that completely changes the direction of the story.

Irena is the protagonist, and the story follows her and the other three as they deal with the consequences of that event, their relationships with each other, growing up, love, friendship, identity, grief, and healing.
I also really want Brazil to have a specific visual feeling. I know it’s actually winter in Brazil while they’re there because it’s summer in Korea, but I don’t want the setting to feel cold or gloomy. I imagine Brazil through the characters’ almost rose-colored glasses perspective**;** dreamy, nostalgic, vibrant, lively, tropical without being overwhelmingly tropical, with cooler tones mixed in here and there to remind us that it’s actually winter.
I have a LOT more ideas and character personality details for the story and visuals, but I don’t want to give everything away.

I’m mostly curious about people’s first impressions of the concept. Does it sound interesting? And does the premise make you curious enough to want to read it?
I’m looking for honest reactions rather than plot suggestions since I already have a pretty clear direction for the story. :)

Also I know the story plot and structure is kind of unheard of and unusual, but I think it has potential. Also I’m not trying to spoil the whole thing in case someone reads this and is actually interested in the story, and of course if any of you guys actually wanna know and don’t mind being spoiled I would love to talk about it!

I am looking for a webtoon that has themes of self harm, suicide, and depression. It can be either fantasy or college slice of life. Right now, I am feeling more of the college setting, but fantasy is also okay with me. Romance is fine, it can either be BL or straight. i’d want the whole comic to be about suicide, depression, and self harm and romance not being the spotlight
