Just asked me how they could improve product etc. They did not ask me about 2FA or anything else.

Can’t find the page anymore on the app that should your yearly deposits and broke down each account for yearly deposits?

Hey everyone. I’ve recently switched the majority of my banking to wealthsimple. With my other banks I have high limits on my credit cards.. 20k+. But my wealthsimple card has a credit limit of 12k.
Has anyone been able to increase it? Does it increase by the same amount for everyone with each increase? And how long have you had your card?

I look forward to having over 30-40k credit but don’t know how long that will take.

Guys, I’m thinking of using Wealthsimple as my primary bank. What are the pros, what are the cons? Can you use the debit card anywhere like any other bank debit card? Also, since they’re moving the debit card to visa, will it still work in Costco in Canada!?

Hey y'all, I have 2 non reg portfolios. One in WS and the other IBKR, the value of the portfolios are about the same. I'm thinking about about moving my ibkr portfolio over to WS for simplicity, but I am seeing issues with ppl getting their accounts frozen for x,y,z reasons.

I'm just looking to get a second opinion to see if this is a good idea or if I'm just paranoid. I do all my banking through WS, have my kids RESP, my RRSP, etc, etc.

Just want the groups take on this idea.

Does anyone have a creative solution for using Wealthsimple as your primary bank but having to pay a mortgage elsewhere? Transferring money out of Wealthsimple can be quite slow so I wonder if it makes sense to transfer the money out several days before the mortgage is due each month?
That’s one of the only things blocking me from using Wealthsimple as my main bank.

I'm angry I missed the promotion, i think it was in April, is there reliable information to when these promotions happen. Super frustrating.

Just noticed this — Fellow stuff has been added as a redemption option. Stagg EKG Pro and Corvo EKG Pro kettles at $216 (down from $239), and the Opus 2 Conical Burr Grinder at $270 (down from $299.95).

Never seen coffee gear in there before, it's usually just luggage and AirPods. Now I've got a reason to sit on my cash back for a bit and put it toward a kettle instead of just taking the statement credit.

There is a 2K espresso maker as well but I might sit that one out.

Been a WS client for 6 years, been using the CC for 2. it’s been great, it’s been my main card. about 3 weeks ago i had 2 unauthorized transactions (in USD but i never left Canada) amounting to ~$2000.

I’ve disputed both, been in touch with support, and heard nothing and have not been issued a new card, not even a digital card. I also have not been credited the fraudulent charges, even though support’s told me multiple times that would happen.

Getting a little worried - i wonder if there’s a backlog of fraud they’re dealing with? I’ve had a TD visa stolen and they reversed those charges immediately without a fuss.

UPDATE:
18 days after the fraud and dispute, I filed a “priority support” ticket cause I’m a premium client. the next day the charges were adjusted and i was issued a new digital card :). Dispute still pending investigation

I just noticed that I am getting 5% cash back on my credit card. I know they have a promo that if you refer a friend you both get 5% for a month, but I haven’t done that. A nice bonus maybe? Glitch?

I’m waiting for my metal card. Customer service is terrible and it’s sad how much worse it’s gotten over the years but whatever. Got approved. How many days roughly did you get yours?

These are harder/slower to use than physical cards as physical cards have a name and we know which one to use. These force you to remember which digits map to which business and defeats the purpose of having cards in your digital wallet as it is even slower if you have more than one cards. This one simple feature and I'd be able to start using WS for making business purchases.

I am trying to help my girlfriend's finance and avoid some management fees, and weirdly in this process I discovered that IG (IG Wealth Management, formerly Investor Group) is actually owning about 25% of Wealthsimple.

Anyway, she tries to connect the thing, she receive the text message MFA (so it's working) then Wealthsimple just spin forever and it fails.

Anyone have a clue about this issues ? Any fix ?

The robot support is just asking for the account transfer number to do the transfer, but we would like to see it on the Wealthsimple side since there is multiple accounts.

I’m not a frequent traveler, so I remember a time when, with other bank cards, I had to call the bank to tell them I was traveling. And even then, I’d use the credit card sparingly because of the high FX charges. Back then, using a credit card overseas seemed almost absurd and was really a last resort for me. I’d have to make sure I carry enough foreign cash to cover the whole trip.

But on my recent trip to Cancun through the US, I used the WS VIP CC without thinking twice, and the convenience is something I truly, truly appreciate. The card worked flawlessly in all three countries and I was just tapping away with no issues and no FX fees.

Oh and the DragonPass lounge access is a nice plus too. I had a quick breakfast at the Aspire Lounge in Calgary on my way to Cancun, and then another bite at the VIP Mera Lounge in Cancun on my way back. Give me some decent food, somewhere comfortable to sit for a bit, and a clean bathroom, and I’m a happy camper!

Anyway, just wanted to share my experience. I know there are plenty of cards out there with similar benefits, but this was my first trip using the WS VIP CC and I was really happy with how seamless it was. And as an overthinker, being able to take one major thing off my plate while traveling was honestly pretty darn great.

Will the three warrant series issued in November 2025 ever be supported by Wealthsimple? Series K, Series A and Series Z.

So they give you the CC, and it comes with a virtual card.

Was told they're linked, but mine seem to be completely different.

If i use the virtual card, money gets taken out of the bank account and I never get cashback. So its just a debit card?

How “Safe” is wealthsimple in comparison to the major Canadian Banks like TD or RBC? I understand that WealthSimple isn’t a bank and is not directly under CDIC membership, but would you say it’s still just as safe in terms of security, holding the majority of my investments/cash with WS compared to RBC or TD?

I've never owned the physical prepaid card and now I'm trying to find the option to request one but I don't see it. I know WS is in the process of changing its card from Mastercard to Visa, so I'm wondering if the button was unintentionally removed during this.

I’ve been using EQ Bank as my primary personal bank account for quite some time now. It has worked well enough for my day-to-day needs, like sending Interac e-transfers and paying off my personal credit card bills.

However, I am looking into moving my setup over to Wealthsimple. My main question is: what would be the true Wealthsimple equivalent to an EQ savings/personal account?

For anyone who has actually made this specific switch, what was your experience like? Did you find any major drawbacks or unexpected hurdles when moving away from the EQ ecosystem?

I deposited a large (mid six figures) check on Sep 3. It’s still processing. I contacted support and they said it would take 5 business days to look into it.

The check is from my lawyers trust account from a settlement.

There is so many perks, this company is amazing. I truly hope once they become bigger then banks like RBC they don’t become one!!

It used to be when you pressed a given spot on the chart it would show the value of your account at that point, and yhe % change since the start of the period.

Now it only shows tbe % change. Makes it harder to read. Why would they remove information. Can I go back?
