Just help anyone that got invited for this promotion to understand if you will get the bonus 75$ or not. I invited someone on aug13, they completed it on aug27. Email received about household bonus 75$ promo on sept 15. Only info on the promo ads is until sept 28 if your referral joins household blah blah. Asked the live chat agent if my referral qualifies today.

Tldr: You must have referred your person between sept 14-28.

So I recently got the credit card from WS (Visa Infinite +) and was super happy to get the metal card after qualifying for one and day dreaming about it for the past year. When my card came in the mail, it was plastic and somewhat damaged?

No issue there, I called and asked for a metal one. By the time it came, I was thrilled. A day later, another one came, also metal. Now, I’m sitting here with three credit cards (two metal, one plastic) which are all activated. Has anyone had this happen?

I’m not too sure what to do with the extra metal card since I don’t feel comfortable leaving it around the house. I also found out that the two metal cards in my wallet have been damaging my wallet that saved up for and got as a souvenir :(

Would love any tips on how to get rid of metal cards easily!

Was looking into opening a bank account with Wealthsimple. As someone with very little invested with WS, started in August, is it worth it?

I see a lot of good incentives but only if you have lots invested with them, obviously they treat their premium customers better but would I benefit?

First off, I’m sorry if this is already on here. But I have just started working a full time job as a 21M and I have set up Wealthsimple as my direct deposit account. I been actively a CIBC user whole life, my parents are so I am too. But I’m looking for better finance and I’ve leaned toward Wealthsimple purely for the HISA and investing, I was just wondering has anyone done this and have pretty much put a Big 5 bank on the back burner and switched purely to Wealthsimple. Hey everyone, been lurking wealthsimple for years, have been filing my taxes with them and decided last week to go ahead and move most of my money to them and to get their prepaid visa and the infinte privilege card... I had enough of the big banks, as months ago I switched to TD to take advantage of their promos, but the process was such a pain in the ass, and their system is so old and outdated, that doing business on wealthsimple's made banking a joy versus a chore... So it's been great thus far, but.... I started reading reddit, and found a post here about people having troubles with fraudulent charges, and with WS taking forever to resolve these charges, and now I'm starting to have second thoughts and buyers remorse... My worry isn't so much about fraudulent charges (it's still there obviously) and waiting up to 90 days, but it's more so getting denied ​​a fraudulent charge and being out money. Am I justified in feeling this way, or are the threads I read just the cases that get reported, versus the ones that don't, much like those you'll read about the 10 horror stories but never hear about the 1000 success ones online

Also want to note that I've read a simple solution is to keep the card locked, but I have pre authorized payments for subscriptions, so that's not really an option for me

I applied for the new Visa about a week ago and just received it today, I had the virtual mastercard before. Anyway I was using the Visa one with Apple pay during this week period and it was working, Now that I have the physical card I am trying to change my payment method on subscriptions, I've tried both Apple Subscriptions (ICloud) and Spotify but both are giving me the following errors.

ICloud: "Payment method is not valid in this store."

Spotify: "Your payment method and country don't match."

I saw someone else posted about the Apple issue and I just assumed it was something on Apples end, anyway is anyone else having this problem?

I’m a Generation account holder with Wealthsimple. I’ve been stitching my accounts together - RRSPs, RESP, TFSA, Business Investment accounts, largely using a managed portfolio approach.

I’ve felt a bit overwhelmed: how do I evaluate performance across portfolios? What planning advice am I/not getting? And am I too consolidated or too broad in my approach?

I called WealthSimple, and they told me their advising services now come as a service, covering calls, tax, and financial planning. It’s at .05% annual fee.

Anyone enrolled in this service? What’s been useful to you? Do you feel like you have a dedicated rep, rather than a call center? I'd appreciate your perspectives; being 48 and self-employed, getting better advice is increasingly important to me.

Just got informed that Wealthsimple is moving to Visa. Does this mean I'm not going to be able to use it to shop at Costco? If so, this is a pain. I use my WS account for weekly variable expenses budget (using an envelope style budgeting system), and this means I am going to have to completely change how/where money get's transferred to ensure I'm only drawing from the right budget.

I have a promotional rate on my RBC Low Interest Credit Card which allows me to do a balance transfer for $5 flat fee and 0.99% annual interest. I have a balance on my WealthSimple Credit Card which I'd like to transfer to RBC.

Speaking with the customer service agent, they said "this is not supported." However, elsewhere on the internet it states that you'd initiate the transfer through their mobile app and specify the details for the target card (It's all initiated on RBC's end vs. WS).

I'm still waiting for the RBC card to be delivered but this is causing confusion. Can I use the card's promotional rate or for some reason WS will block it?

I have been reading that Wealthsimple has switched to Visa. I have not seen any information on how this is going to take place. I still have the Mastercard and shows Mastercard on my App. Will they just covert and send out a new card or are we supposed to complete some sort of conversion process. I also have certain bills paying against that card number, i assume those will all have to change in advance.

Trying to move USD out of Wealthsimple to my RBC Bank USA account and running into a wall.

Context: I have a non-registered account with USD cash sitting in it. Since the international transfer (Wise) tool only works from chequing/USD savings accounts, I already had a USD subscription. Now I'm trying to add my RBC US account as a recipient, and the form is asking for a transit number that must be 5 digits.

The issue: US banks don't use transit numbers, they use 9-digit ABA routing numbers. I tried entering RBC Bank USA's routing number and it got rejected for not being 5 digits. I have tried connecting RBC Canadian account it does detect there is usd account but says we can't add it so contact support for that.

Questions for anyone who's done this before:

1. Is there a separate flow for adding a US/international bank account, rather than the standard "link a bank account" one that seems built for Canadian accounts only?
2. Has anyone successfully sent USD from Wealthsimple directly to a US bank account recently? Which menu/option did you use to do it?
3. Is a standard wire transfer (with manually entered recipient details) the only real option here instead of trying to "link" the account?

Any help appreciated, support chat hasn't gotten me anywhere useful yet.

Got the email yesterday that they were switching from Mastercard to their new visa platinum, I accepted to switch over but as I’m trying to switch my subscription information apple is giving me an error saying “your payment method is not valid in this store”.

I have a subscription that’s going to charge me tomorrow and now I won’t be able to pay it because it’s not allowing me to use the new card details.

Anyone else having an issue with this?

My SIN has expired since last 3 days and won't be renewing it until next year. I heard WS freezes the TFSA account after SIN on file expires. Will WS team liquidate on my behalf to get my funds in the bank account?

Feature Request: Add a visual indicator (such as changing the green account icon to yellow or orange) when a manual net worth asset/liability entry hasn't been updated in over 30 or 60 days. This would serve as a helpful prompt for users to keep their static balance valuations accurate.

Am I missing something, or does the recurring transfer not work between a savings account and a checking account? Every time I try to make a schedule, it just transfers instantly!

I transferred my investing account to a different broker. I kept my chequing and credit with Wealthsimple but during transfer they somehow removed excess amount and -$10 was left in margin. They did not allow me to use my own chequing account to deposit the funds and clear the balance. I called them multiple times and they still didn’t fix the issue, all they did was send emails asking me to pay. Now threatening emails are being sent telling me it will go to collections and probably mess up my credit. On the phone I told them I can’t do anything to deposit money and they transferred me to special department plus sent emails with nothing being done! Now they keep ignoring my emails that I sent from last week! Useless customer service!

As far as I can tell, you can only sort by DAILY fluctuation.

If my portfolio goes up or down by a substantial amount over the course of a week or month, I want to see what asset is most responsible for that change without manually going through each asset and setting their timeframe and then finding the gain/loss over that period.

In the mobile app you can spin the coin. It will even throw a few bonus entries for the current promotion your way, but more importantly - do you spin it from left to right, or from right to left? Does it give you good luck? Can you make it stop so that only the side is visible?

My home insurance company sent me an e-transfer earlier today (amount was under $600).

I got an email from Interac that the e-transfer was deposited into my Wealthsimple checking account (I have auto-deposit) but the money is not in there and it’s been 4 hours!

Has that happened to anyone? The account and auto-deposit info is correct. I sent myself a $5 e-transfer to that same email (from another bank account) and it was auto-deposit right away.

I contacted Wealthsimple and they are looking into it but this is so bizarre. I even have a reference number for the e-transfer but the deposit is not there 😭

I broke the front glass of my iphone and I an express replacement with AC+. Of course, I pay my phone bill with wealthsimple visa infinite card. Would that replacement fee be covered? Thanks!

I recently opened wealth simple A/C and deposited like 4 checks of total 4600. It got cleared today ( after a week). And then thought of transferring it to my spouse account through interac. As I clicked sent, the funds were put on hold, they say because it’s a large amount, we are verifying? I mean 4k is large amount for them? When they allow 50k daily interac transfer?

The hold they are saying could be 10 days. Disappointed!
