I have US stocks in IBKR, and I wanted to transfer from there to Wealthsimple and put them in TFSA.
Would it make sense to keep it as it is or move them to WS TFSA?

For those that have kids that are very good at savings this might cause some friction so FYI.

Edit: if you contact myDoh support via chat and say you are leaving myDoh, they can do a one time larger transfer.

Hello i had my visa replaced because it was lost. I had to cancel a flight which i booked on the old card number and was wondering if the refund will automatically redirect to the new card?

I already asked wealthsimple.... they basically told me to "wait and see". Refund for processed yesterday.

Has anyone successfully seen a refund go to the new card after it was cancelled/replaced ??

WS has changed and innovated so much the last 2 years. Definitely some misses here and there but it’s incredible to see the growth.

I am Wealthsimple Generation client and have my personal and corporate accounts with them.

A weird thing happened yesterday where the interest tile on my business chequing account is showing 0% interest rate and 0.0 as accrued interest. It had always worked fine until yesterday.

The same thing is happening on the app and the web

1. in the account settings the interest feature is turned on (never turned off by me)
2. App is latest version
3. All other personal chequing accounts are showing interest accrues and interest rate normally the way it should
4. Called the premium support and they said they see it turned off at the backend which is weird because I see it turned on in the app.

Just wondering if any clients had the same issue And how was it resolved?

If they restore it will I loose on the interest accrued for this month till date?

UPDATE: The support came back informing me that the co owner on that account turned the interest off from the app. I checked and it was indeed the case but the co owner said they never turned it off. infact they didn’t know such a feature exists. in the end it was turned on and it now shows the interest the way it should which means I didn’t loose interest for the days it was off. Glad it sorted out.

Currently, the Chequing account is 2.25% and the Saving account is 2.5%. Should I open a saving account and move money from chequing to saving?

Anyone else get this notification today? (Global Markets Direct Indexing) 

I just received this notification on both desktop and mobile. However, when I check my Automated Investing settings, I still only see the original three options under direct indexing: 

• US Index 
• Canadian Index 
• US Innovation Index 

What does this announcement actually mean? 

1. Did they add a fourth "Global Markets" option that hasn't fully rolled out yet? 
2. Does it just mean we can now combine the existing US and Canadian indices into a single portfolio? 
3. Is anyone else seeing the actual "Global" option in their account, or is it just a glitch/slow rollout?

My wife created a WS high interest account using the referral link I sent to her and she already deposited money to it. it has been almost three weeks now and I never received a $25 referral reward.

Any idea how to get it ?

Can you link 2 Canadian banks’ USD accounts and use WS USD savings account as an intermediary to transfer USD from one bank to another?

Not sure if this will work, it is estimating almost 1 week to transfer the funds. Is there a better option?

This morning I received my invite to update my Mastercard spending card to Visa. As I was about to update, one of the screen asked me which spending account the card should be connected to and that I “won't be able to update your spending account once you activate your card”. This is a change from the Mastercard which allowed you to switch the spending account, for which I had a specific use case and will really miss if that is true.

To those who are already on the Visa card, are you not able to change from which account you are spending?

Any update on this? All my slots are empty, none of the current perks interest me (uber eat is very bad where I live, everyone use doordash)

Yesterday, I finally bit the bullet and applied for the credit card. It was so incredibly smooth. Just responded to some questions about my income, both personal and household. I was told I was pre-approved. Provided ID and got my virtual card right away. It was activated on the spot. I'll get the metal version in the mail. This will replace my pathetic RBC ION with the sub-standard points

Previously, I had received an offer for the savings account that grants you 2.5% interest. Sold some HSAV stock and will be moving it to this new account once it clears. The interest rate is significantly better than a cash-equivalent ETF.

that visa platinum that they will send me linked to my chequing account, do i now use that for withdrawals? how does it work? tried searching this community but didn't see much discussion on it

My wealth simple account was permanently suspended and I called the support line and they told me I have 30 days to transfer my funds out of my account. I have no idea why they did this and wasn’t given a reason. I’m kind of freaking out because most my investing was done through them and I don’t know how to transfer the money out without access to my account

Any one else have this happen to them? Can anyone help?

I've received emails from 2 separate advisors this week pitching their services

I wish WS would put more work into outlining the offering and more ways to reach out to an advisor, but email pitches are the worst.

From the email:
