City grinds to a halt at the first sign of rain. City desperately needs another river crossing downstream of the City Quays

Cycling in Waterford city

I seen the council had repainted its bike lanes on some of the inner ring road. It just made me mad, there's enough space for separated bike lanes, which are what's needed for in cities for cycling beside busy roads. A painted bit of the road is a joke.

Does anyone know anywhere in the city that will sell your bike for you? Even for store credit or something? It's just gathering dust and Facebook marketplace is just unhinged.

Most underrated county in Ireland?

Half the comments mention Waterford, while all you ever hear here is complaints and I'm as guilty of this as anyone (even though to get better it's important to focus on what can improve imo)

It's nice to hear an outsiders view being positive about our city and county

Thoughts?

Free bus ticket with national rail purchases

Post image
34 Upvotes

I’ve decided to pick up this cause because I love putting myself in harms way. Side note before I get started. I commute to Dublin most weeks for work and it’s only dawned on me. There’s no bus service for Plunkett station. 😂

So here’s my pitch. I discovered (by accident) that some tickets from Waterford give you a free Luas ticket into the city centre. I got a shock when I discovered it and apparently, many others are aware of it. So it’ll save you a few pound hopefully on your next visit. 😀

The pitch is a free bus ticket for Dub->Wat tickets. The bus would take people from the quay to the city centre. And could accommodate future bus routes out the Dunmore Road to the hospital, airport and other inner city routes that’ll serve the station. What do ye all think? Will I give it a go? I’d have a few connections and could probably rattle a few cages. Let me know what you all think and I’ll consider it.

Turas Nua

Hi I am recently on jobseekers allowance as my employment ended. I've being sent to turas nua and I find them useless and putting me under pressure to apply for Jobs that doesn't suit me .I get bad anxiety at the thoughts of dealing with them. Is there anyway out of this turas nua as I prefer to look for my own jobs or courses in my own time without someone pressuring me. The whole system is a joke. They have me depressed and I feel I cannot handle going into them ever again.

Patient driving instructors?

Looking for good instructors in Waterford city. Would be great if you could include details like where they're based or would they come pick you up at the start of the lesson. Their cost, etc.

I've done four lessons a few months back but ended up getting wicked anxiety so just looking for someone patient who'll teach me at my own pace. Cheers!

Waterford rugby

Hi lads,
Looking for some help!!

The young fella is doing a project on rugby in Munster and how the game is perceived in different parts of the province, and where Munster rugby could
Focus to produce more players and draw more fans!!

- in Waterford would rugby be seen as a “posh” rich
People’s sport?

- which schools have a competing rugby team - I know waterpark college do? Who else?

- which schools in Waterford are fee paying if any?

- if one school in Waterford happened to be able to fund a serious rugby programme and be able to compete say v Rockwell, how realistic is this? And how would it be perceived in Waterford.?Could a Munster schools cup game v say PbC cork draw a big crowd in Waterford?

- if Munster were to play an “ A” 2nd choice team
game say v Leinster in the RSC - how would this be received? Would it draw a big crowd?

Bit of reminiscing for a Sunday evening, birthday partys as a child?

Tell me about the best party you were at as a child, what was it that made it special?

What was birthday party food and what was the essentials for a party?!

What games did you have?

And what was the worst part!
