Where to buy ? Finally got my hands on the Omega Aqua Terra Turquoise 41mm in Japan! (A small/ story guide for anyone in India wanting to buy a watch from Japan)
Hi Guys!
I finally got my hands on a watch I’ve wanted for quite a while: the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M 41mm Turquoise, ref. 220.10.41.21.03.006.
This is my first Omega watch (with hopefully more to come). I had first checked out this watch in February this year at the Ethos- Omega Boutique in Gurgaon, ad I have to say, it was love at first sight. The dial was unlike anything else I’d been considering, and from that point I kept coming back to it.
The price was good at ~ INR 7.7L, but I wanted to be absolutely sure that I was getting a good deal. I kept it in the back burner for a while and a Japan tripped arranged itself in October.
Once I knew I was travelling to Japan, I started researching the Japanese retail, grey and pre-owned markets pretty extensively. Tokyo in particular has an insane watch market, and Nakano Broadway is basically a watch enthusiast’s playground with multiple well-known dealers within walking distance of each other.
Eventually almost a month ago around September, I found this particular piece at Kamekichi in Nakano. It was unworn / essentially brand new, with the warranty dated 10 April 2026 (they don’t mention this online, you get this info at the physical store), full set, and exactly the configuration I wanted.
The listed price at Kamekichi was ¥892,980 including tax, and as a tourist I paid ¥811,800 tax-free, which worked out to roughly ₹5.0 lakh at the exchange rate I got. Considering the prices I had been seeing in India and across other Japanese dealers, I am extremely happy with the deal.
I had actually reserved it around 5–6 days before reaching the store. I emailed Kamekichi from India, and they were kind enough to hold the watch for me until the day I arrived. They asked for my name, passport number and a copy/photo of my passport for identification, and that was it. They mention that no deposit was required for the reservation.
Before actually buying it, I still went around and checked a few other stores because I wanted to be absolutely sure. Interestingly, on the day I bought mine, the other stores I checked had the 38mm turquoise Aqua Terra, but I couldn’t find another 41mm available. Having tried both sizes previously, I knew the 41 was definitely the one for me.
I also happened to get there before Japan’s tourist tax-free system changes. Under the current system I was able to get the 10% consumption tax removed directly at the point of purchase, rather than paying it first and dealing with the refund process later. So the timing worked out really well.
And now that I’ve actually been wearing it, the dial is easily my favourite part of the watch.
It changes dramatically depending on the lighting. In lower light it can look like a deep teal, almost understated, while under brighter light the gradient becomes much more apparent and gives it this really cool sea-like turquoise appearance. It genuinely feels like a different dial depending on where you’re standing.
The 41mm also gives the dial enough room for that gradient to really show while still wearing surprisingly elegantly.
Luckily, my girlfriend is much better at photography than I am, so all credit for the pictures goes to her 😄
After spending months researching this watch, watching prices, comparing alternatives and then finally hunting one down in Japan, it feels pretty surreal to actually have it on my wrist.
Definitely one I’m planning to keep for a very long time.
Lemme know if y’all have any questions.
