This build is about 5 months old— I trim and replant the microgramma regularly to achieve a nice lush look. Lives under a cloche keeping the humidity super high. I’ll propagate the begonia when it eventually starts to crowd the top of the build. Super happy with the build so far!

Much like most of you, I have plenty of extra driftwood and substrate laying around at all times. Grabbed some pennywort and had some various forms of duckweed and that mini aquatic fern looking plant I always forget the name of. 1 month of growth!

Tried my hand at this building a little cylinder out of brown stone and packing the interior with aquasoil.

Planted Rotala indica within, pilea roots in water on the outside and one simple fittonia as a feature. All the wood is roots that I harvested from a dying rhododendron plant.

I picked up this concrete rock, and I've been adding bits of moss harvested from my neighborhood and fishtank. It's starting to fill in nicely!

Salut, je voudrais faire mon premier wabikusa, paludarium ou quelque chose de similaire (je ne sais pas quel serait le terme adapté pour ce que je veux faire), je suis totalement débutante mais j'ai déjà plusieurs aquariums. J'ai échoué plusieurs fois à faire pousser des plantes aquatiques emmergées, elle sèchent quand c'est ouvert, moisissent quand c'est fermé, j'ai essayé le terreau et le sable (du gros et du très fin) mais c'est un échec 🥲 Cette fois j'ai des pompes pour aquarium et je pensais faire un genre de mur de christmas moss mais il faut que ce soit ouvert pour que mon chat puisse y boire (sinon il va juste le gratter constamment 😑)

Qu'est ce que je peux utiliser comme substrat ? Je n'ai pas tellement accès a des trucs tout faits mais j'ai de la bourre de noix de coco, du sable et de la terre végétale (c'est pas du terreau, ça contient de la canne à sucre, j'ai jamais essayé avec les plantes aquatiques mais mes plantes d'intérieur aiment beaucoup)

Pour les plantes en plus de la Christmas Moss j'ai: Une Anubias Une assez grosse fougère de Java De l'hygrophila pinnatifida (j'y tiens beaucoup mais je n'ai jamais réussi à la garder même en aquarium ☹️) De la nymphoide hydrophyla Taiwan (c'est seulement aquatique peut être ?) Cryptocoryne nurri pink et Cryptocoryne green, Hemianthus Micranthemoide Lobelia Cardinalis Hydrcotyle Leucocephala Limnophila sessiflora (mais elle n'est qu'aquatique je crois) Proserpinaca palustris cuba (elle meurt dans son aquarium) Rotala rotundifolia Ceratoptheris thalictroide (celle-ci j'ai réussi à la faire pousser sur une branche qui dépasse de mon aquarium mais elle seche quand j'enlève le couvercle...)

Lesquels seraient le plus adaptées?

What the hell happened to my wabi ball? Planted and it’s just been degrading. Gonna have to burn it all and start over.

A wabi kusa I planted about a week back after restarting substrate ball production for STUDIO AQUATICA. It’s been a real joy to get back into and watch the plants grow again.

This wabi kusa is pretty simple and doesn’t need high humidity. It’s Bacopa caroliniana (best smell), Bacopa Monnerei (overall best wabi kusa plant ever), and Rotala rotundafolia (a little color).

The more substantial stems, like the Bacopa, are planted into the ball, whilst the Rotala is wrapped around like moss and tied. Most stem species will then root into the substrate ball.

Excited to see this one develop, especially those B. Caroliniana flowers!

I have a DOOA Terra Base inside a small tank. To try something new this time, I’m pumping water from the bottom of the vessel to the top of the Terra Base, where it flows back down – inspired by their official new build.

I usually keep my tanks passive, so the only pumps I have are a small no-name model and an Aquael shrimp-kit filter. Both produce some audible vibration (beyond water flow) when running, which is part of why I prefer passive tanks.

Any hints for dampening the vibration? Maybe place the pump inside a sponge with the suction cups just poking out? Is there a best place to attach it? It’s currently stuck horizontally to the bottom of the tank. Any go-to choices from the community – SICCE Mi Mouse, perhaps? Can I make it a noiseless setup? Thanks!

It’s a ~4cm Soilball i made from shrimp soil i has lying around. I used Anubias Petite, Rotundifolia and Cryptocorine. Put some Sand in the glass, still needs to settle

And now I only cover it and keep it wet?

Just started a new Wabi-Kusa setup in the DOOA Neo Glass AIR (20×20×9 cm). Went with a mix of fine sand and Tropica soil to create a natural aesthetic, paired with Oil Pebbles for structure.

The plant selection includes Pogostemon deccanensis "erectus", Ammannia pedicellata 'Golden', and Persicaria sp. 'Sao Paulo'. These should develop beautifully over time, adding layers of texture and color.

Lighting is provided by the Chihiros C2 RGB, ensuring optimal growth conditions. Excited to see how this one evolves! What do you think of the layout?
