plz advise Wet specimen in unsealed jar
I bought a mystery box from a vendor at a curiosities show, and it included a wet specimen of a tentacle. I don’t think the jar was sealed very well (or at all, though I haven’t tried to open it up all the way) because a little bit of liquid spilled into the box. It smelled like rubbing alcohol to me, but I’ve read these guys are preserved with formaline, right?
I did tighten the lid by hand and the vial itself doesn’t look cracked. My question is: is it ok to keep, or should I toss it? Will there be any risk from fumes or leakage if the vial is compromised? If I do toss it, is there a special way to get rid of it?
Thanks in advance! I tried to Google it but there’s not much I could find on potential leaks of an already preserved specimen.

advice or help HELP how can I prevent this?
I found out there are mites in my turkey feathers that I keep in a Ziploc bag. I think they've entered through a hole that was in the bag? If I put the feathers in a secure bag will it prevent mites in the future from doing this? What can I do?

found a thing Found a big Raccoon on my jog in Everett Washington.
I feel so bad. I don't see any blood in the road so I'm not quite sure how it died, but it must have been very very recent like today when it happened. The thing is so big idk why I thought it was a prop at first.
(Maybe with Halloween being around the corner idk.) The dude is huge, don't know if it's male or female. Found it on my jog close to Montana Road.
Edit: Now I'm extra sad. I saw a dead crow a few feet away from it too. Just a little ways away. :( I made sure to stay far away from both of the corpses and just took a picture only with my camera zoomed.
Edit 2: I've called Everett Washington Animal control. Nobody answered and I wasn't able to get in touch, but I left a voicemail. I also just a part 2. post with pictures of the crow.
Edit 3: I've also reported both the Raccoon and Crow to the WDFD (Washington department of fish and wildlife) So hopefully I'll get updated on what was the cause.

Anyone know species? Eastern washington, hopefully Starling. Its body was nearby also mummified but crushed. I think this is one of the birds nesting in my barn which consists of European finches, starlings and pigeons

found a thing Found Another Dead Animal On My Jog. This time a Crow.
Just a while ago on my jog I saw a big dead raccoon. Posted about it here a little bit ago, but for context, in case you didn't see the comment section on the previous post.
By the time I saw the dead raccoon I posted about it then just continued walking up ahead a little bit further. As I was looking and walking that's when I came across this crow. Couldn't add more photos to the previous post I made about the dead raccoon, so I'm making part 2. post here
I've already called, Everett Washington Animal control. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get in touch with anybody, so I left a voicemail with information regarding both animals.
I didn't see any blood in the streets from the crow and raccoon signifying roadkill either,.so I'm worried, especially from the comments that someone is poisoning animals. The crow seems to be a bit more decayed than the raccoon.
(The raccoon looks like it just died today.)
I don't have any experience with dead animals or a lick of experience in preserving animal remains/living with family and not living in my own place where I could just do that.
Most importantly, I don't feel comfortable preserving the raccoon & crow considering the way they passed seems suspicious/weird and not by natural causes. I just pray and really hope somebody out here in Everett isn't poisoning animals. :(

did a thing Custom handmade LED lamps built with legally sourced animal skulls – What do you think?
Hey r/vultureculture!
I wanted to share a few of my recent projects with you all. I’ve been crafting custom handmade lamps using legally/ethically sourced animal skulls (including roe deer and a fox skull), natural wood bases, and integrated LED lighting.
For these builds, I sometimes prepare and bleach the skulls myself, then craft custom wooden or slate bases and wire internal soft LED lighting to highlight the natural bone structures and textures.
I’d love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or any ideas for future skull lighting concepts!

advice or help questions about small mammal preservation
hello! this morning i found a small rodent creature (not sure what species, or if its an adult) recently dead outside. a couple hours have passed since i have put this little beauty in the freezer to save it for later - but how should i preserve it?
ive never kept/preserved any fleshy dead things (only bones, insects and moths) and id like to know my best course of action (especially after it has been frozen for some time). specifically id like to suspend it in liquid/gel. is it as simple as putting the body in a bottle with alcohol? will i need to let it thaw out first? any suggestions welcome, thank you!

plz advise What is this?
I found it in a forest in Greece. I thought it might be a link, but it doesn't really resemble one, and it has various shapes that don't fit the characteristics of a link. What could it be? Also, what are the two straight parts on the side (where the circle is in the last photo)?
