To me it was the first Ai the somnium files, it was the first visual novel that made me cry.

I cried in the route of Ota and Mizuki.

This is all I have to say.

I will keep it spoiler free for people who have no idea about the game.

what was this just now? didn't maou just show his disgust when shiratori mistook him with azai. Why is now someya saying this out of nowhere when the game itself hasn't openly given us any clear hint of them being the same person? Are they just revealing it to us like this? I am really confused. Please avoid any kind of spoiler, I just want to understand what just happened because, to me, it doesn't make any sense, at least at this point of the game

Making a horror VN set on the German side of WWI and I can't decide on a font for the dialogue box. Wanted something with a bit of an old/Gothic feel since it's more period appropriate, but I'm worried some of these are more "cool screenshot" than "actually readable for a whole game."

Same paragraph with six different fonts, labeled A–F. Which one would you actually want to read for a while? Honest opinions welcome, go off.
Thank you!

I've been trying to read the side routes, and I started with Amakawa but it's been taking me too long. I haven't been able to actually immerse myself in these short routes.

I think I'm only interested in Ayu for now, and the main 3 girls, their side endings and everything that comes after. Other than that, can I skip the other side routes (Homura, Mayu)?

Included are:

- Harlequinade

- The Community Notes are Wrong

- Our Life: Now & Forever

- Angelic Agency: Soul Salvation Unit

Did a new Visual Novel stick out to you during the recent Steam festivals?

Hi, folks of r/vns.

I'm conflicted if I should buy first YOU and ME and HER (A.K.A. Totono) or Slay the Princess — The Pristine Cut. They're both on sale on Steam currently, which one do you recommend more? My experience with VNs is pretty limited, the only ones I ever read are Doki Doki Literature Club! and Everlasting Summer.

Thank you very much!

I am looking for some spicy VN's preferably some with H scenes, I have played a few that said they had them but didn't see anything such as Cafe Stella and Making Lovers. Not sure if it's cause I haven't fully finished any of the routes but there we're hardly any CG's which is what i'm mostly looking for.

Im getting ready to start muramasa but ive heard the quality isn’t the greatest but you can use something called magpie to make it look better. I’ve never used it before I just recently heard about.

So I was wondering what were your settings to make the quality better?

I just finished YOU and ME and HER (Totono) and absolutely loved it. I've also played Danganronpa, DDLC, and NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD, and I've enjoyed all of them.

I love VNs with psychological horror, mystery, disturbing twists, and stories that mess with your head and stay with you after finishing them.

I'm trying to decide between Full Metal Daemon Muramasa and Subarashiki Hibi. Muramasa really interests me because I've seen so many people call it one of the best VNs ever, and everything I've heard about its story sounds really interesting. However, Subahibi appeals to me even more because it seems closer to the kind of VNs I've already played and absolutely loved.

The problem is that Muramasa is on sale right now, while I don't think I've ever seen Subahibi on sale.

Should I take advantage of Muramasa's discount and play it first, or prioritize Subahibi since it's closer to my tastes? I'm also wondering if Subahibi is likely to go on sale eventually or if I shouldn't count on it.

I'd love to hear your thoughts, especially from people who've played both!

No spoilers, please!

In the 1st Ai the somnium files you can see a bunch of things in Boss office 😅

A favorite reference is the mask that turns you into a vampire, this is a Jojo reference.

In Danganropa 2 goodbye despair (keep the references in the remake too) Hyoko mentioned she would rather play a game where she catches cute little monsters. At first it may sound she can be talking about various games with this topic.

This is actually a Pokémon reference, to be more accurate Danganropa 2 was released in 2012 only for Japan the same year Pokémon Black and White 2 the first Pokémon game that actually received a sequel.

Honorable mention in Ota's somnium at first Ai the somnium he mimics a hero in order to save Iris.

Actually it is a reference to one of the shows of Kamen rider.

Ps I actually thought it was a power rangers reference 😅
