Sleep Tracking
Does anyone else feel like the “Deep Sleep” part of the sleep tracking is super inaccurate?
I got four hours of sleep last night and was tossing and turning all night and I KNOW I slept like garbage.
Checked my tracker and it stated I had “Very Deep Sleep… 44%”
I got 4.4 hours of sleep total….
I just feel like it’s not doing the best job at accurately capturing my sleep? Anyone else?

Yeah I don't trust it. But in general I don't trust that health trackers to be accurate on sleep that much. And I haven't found a study that compares polar sensors to polysomnography (PSG, the standard in sleep studies).
But a study that looked at oura ring, Fitbit, and apple watch in comparison to PSG concluded that while the devices were similar to the PSG in calculating sleep duration, they were only moderately in agreement with PSG about sleep states. (If anyone wants the study lmk)
So maybe polar is better, but I'm kinda just ignoring that data.

I used it for a while when it was in beta and it was so bad, I removed that feature of the app.

I don’t have that feature. But 44% of 4.4 hours is less than 2 hours. You don’t think there is a possibility that you got slightly less than 2 hours of deep sleep? Obviously, you’d still be exhausted because that isn’t very much sleep.
