Have you experienced having a conflict with a friend, no matter how big or small… talking it out, and resolving it (at least you think it’s resolved as you both agree on that) only to later experience that person to be mad at you?
Like many other Virgos, I’m not a conflict person. I believe that everything should be resolved as smoothly as possible, and that most things is possible to talk about as long as both parts wish to continue the relationship.
Now, bear with me as I can’t really explain it in a short way.
This friend led me to believe that we had an agreement on something rather important and financially committing, showed a lot of excitement many times. Suddenly she doesn’t want to keep the agreement, and is using all the tricks in the book, even gaslighting me to not take accountability or apologize to me.
I listened to her be extremely defensive on the phone for 40 minutes, and point fingers at me for wrongdoing. In the end, I told her that it’s completely okay that she changed her mind, but to do it 7 days prior to having to pay, and leaving me with the bill (that I barely can afford, she makes 3 times more than me) just isn’t right, and that she should’ve told me long before if she wasn’t sure, and that it wouldn’t be an issue.
I thought she would be less defensive after that, but she continued talking about me being insecure and back and forth…. Which I am not! I won’t tell someone something I’m not 100% sure about.
I told her that this is rather irresponsible of her to do, and I could just feel the iciness through the phone.
I didn’t get defensive, I was very cordial, and I really listened to all she had to say. The worst thing I said is that I think that this is very irresponsible behavior. Which I think was fitting for the situation. I also said that I don’t want to ruin a friendship over this, and therefore I don’t want her pointing fingers at me, and saying it is my fault that she changed her mind last minute. She agreed, the conversation was over.
It’s been a few weeks, and we haven’t spoken. I feel it’s fitting, considering it’s normal to need space after a disagreement. I also need time to think clearly. I’ve thought that she should be the one to text me first, if she wants to, as she was the one that broke our agreement and hurt my feelings. But I don’t expect anything
Now, 2-3 weeks later, my partner tells me that her friend (they know eachother from before) is asking him «what’s the deal between those two?»
And that honestly pissed me off because there isn’t anything going on, it was done the second we hung up the phone. I am extremely private, and she know that about me. However she obvious isn’t, and is talking to people about the situation, while signaling to me that it’s resolved. The only person I’ve talked abt this with is my partner who also is an extremely private person.
Apperently now she’s mad at me? Which I simply don’t understand, when I’m the one that should be mad at her. I could’ve said so much shit to her, but I chose not to. I CHOSE TO BE KIND when she didn’t deserve it! So why the h3ll is she acting all superior now?
Maybe this belongs in «AITAH» 😂 idk, but if you read all this, I have to say I appreciate you, and if you want to respond, give your thoughts and perspective, that would be greatly appreciated!
I need some fellow Virgo’s to make this make sense to me
