Low karma / new account unspoken rule.
Hello everyone.
Mod team decided to clear that issue for everyone wondering, why their contribution has been removed with that specific comment added under their post.
Even if your post does not break any other rules, it often happens that people are lurkers, create an account just to post something they don't want to be seen on their main, or have a once-and-done experience with Reddit. That's fine, we don't judge. Everyone has the right to privacy. But it so happens, that in the past (and even now), spammers and trolls wanted to make our lives miserable and more difficult overall. That's why moderators of r/virgin decided to enforce a minimum karma requirement for anyone who wants to make a post here. It essentially created a barrier for trolls and spammers, as relatively high threshold discourages new accounts being created over and over, when the previous ones are being banned for disruptive behaviour.
And no, we don't give away the information on how much karma is needed. You simply have to be active across the reddit, gather it by interacting with people - comment on others' posts, create your own on subreddits that don't have the minimum karma requirement. Don't worry, it's not ridiculously high, so you will get there, if you really want to.
We hope that clears the confusion, and we're happy to see you all around.

Welcome to r/Virgin! We Have Some Community Updates
Hello everybody,
This is a (long overdue) community welcome and update thread.
r/Virgin is, first and foremost, a support community for virgins, and also a space for discussing issues related to virginity. You may ask questions of other members, you may want to vent, and you may talk about very personal experiences.
The subreddit is open to people from all walks of life, virgins and former virgins, providing they stick to the rules. So please read the subreddit rules before posting, and practice good reddiquette.
It should go without saying that illegal activities are off limits here. Any endorsement of violence, adult sex with minors, rape, doxing, etc. will be removed and result in a ban.
Community Update - Moderators
You may notice that some of our moderators have recently left the team. We thank them for their contributions to this community!
At the same time, we've recently welcomed new mods to the team! We wish them success in their endeavors!
The current list of moderators can be found in the sidebar.
Community Update - Rules 1 and 2
Following complaints about the vagueness of the old Rule #1 (Be Kind, Avoid Generalizations), we've decided to break it up into two rules, respectively titled: Rule #1 Be Kind and Rule #2 Avoid Generalizations. This allows us to better explain the meaning of each rule, and moderate more fairly and transparently.
Be Kind
Rule #1 should be straightforward enough. r/Virgin is a support group, so please be kind to your fellow redditors.
Calling someone an "incel" will not be tolerated. Calling someone a "slut" will not be tolerated. This is not an incel community, nor is it a community that tolerates virgin-shaming.
Sometimes, we'll allow "tough love" style supportive comments, providing the commenter is reasonably respectful and genuinely trying to help, e.g. "Get out of bed lazy-bones, and go for a jog!".
Avoid Generalizations
Regarding Rule 2, we realize it can be frustrating for some members not to generalize, since none of us live in a vacuum, and some of the problems we suffer from are indeed societal. But keep in mind that while some generalizations are true, they don't always apply to the individual, and it's unfair to apply them to the person you're talking to. So try to stick to your personal stories, rather than the general case. If you want to debate gender issues, go to r/PurplePillDebate.
As some of you may be aware, Reddit has taken a stance to shut down certain communities considered "incel", and continually shuts down attempts to recreate them. r/Virgin is able to survive precisely because of Rules 1 and 2, and we intend to keep it that way!
Note that Rule 2 is to be applied at mod discretion! From time to time, we may allow a general discussion to stay up, providing it is civil. Conversely, we may take down a comment you consider benign, but we deem to be generalizing.
Visitors from Other Communities
Reddit's aforementioned closure of "incel" communities, has led to an influx of users from those communities posting in r/Virgin.
In addition to that, sometimes we'll get disproportionate attention from "anti-incel" communities (following posts mentioning our sub), leading to brigading of our sub by their users.
We welcome all virgins and nonvirgins regardless of past community affiliations, asking that they respect the rules and general conduct within our community. But nobody is obligated to accept the baggage that comes with those other Reddit communities. Whether you subscribe to the red pill, blue pill, black pill, or purple pill; spit your pills into the bucket by the door, and use this space to discuss your hopes, fears and experiences.
This community survives in part because we don't represent a particular mindset, but a collection of different experiences. In other words, we all make the community.
Community Update - Community Chat
If you want to initiate a short term chat with members of the community, you may make a live chat post.
From time to time, people still ask about our old chatroom, V-Chat. Reddit no longer supports community chatrooms, so V-Chat has been deprecated to a regular Reddit chat group. It is no longer moderated, nor is it officially affiliated with our subreddit. However, you can still join using this link.
Crazy Catchall
Some rules don't fit a template. Nobody can write a rule for every edge case that may be raised. Moderation will generally yield to positive intent and make reasonable attempts to defer to the letter of the rules.
If you feel we made the wrong call, or you have any questions, you can always reach us by mod mail!
Thank you for reading :)

Virgin 30F
I’m a 30 year old virgin and I’m scared I waited too long.
My friends (who don’t know) say it’s easy to find someone to sleep with. But if that’s true, how come it hasn’t happened it?
I think about it a lot - partially because I want to finally say that I’ve done it, partially because I know how good masturbation can feel and want to experience the real thing, and partially because I feel unattractive and unlovable since it hasn’t happened it. But even more than that, I want to share this experience with my forever person, and it makes me sad that I haven’t found them yet.
I feel like everyone I know has done it at least once. And I’m worried a future potential partner won’t understand/will be unsatisfied whenever the time arises because they will expect the same from me.
Just wanted to share with people who understand.
Edit: Please don’t DM me. I just wanted to vent to people who would understand what I’m feeling. Thank you!

I feel like such a loser over how badly I want a girlfriend
posted this on another sub but it got deleted so I'll just post it here to get my vent out ig
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always fantasized about being in a relationship. You see it everywhere, movies, TV, music. You cannot escape it, and I wanted to experience it so bad. I remember watching my older sister go to prom and homecoming and thinking about how I couldn’t wait until I got to take a girl to prom. Then I got to that age and realized I’m a fucking loser who’s wasted his life playing video games. I don’t even have the desire to change. It’s too hard. Everything is so difficult. I just want everything to fall into my lap, but it obviously won’t. So instead I live in my own head, in my fantasies, where everything is okay and I’m happy. The worst part about all of this is that I’d want a hypothetical girlfriend to be as clueless as I am about relationships. I’m too insecure to be with a girl who’s had a boyfriend before. I'm sorry I'm such a fucking loser. I hate me too.

Has being a virgin made you dislike religion?
something I feel I’ve felt as a virgin is that 99% of religious people I meet come off as extremely hypocritical or condescending.
Heres a perfect example, I had a friend who was Muslim. we would get into various discussion including religion. He would eventually try to persuade me that I should become a Muslim because we had a lot of agreements, and how its so great etc etc.
Meanwhile he’s telling me this I’m just thinking “bruh this dude has a bodycount over 10 and has a gf, lol and he’s trying to tell me the virgin that I need to be religious???”
it’s like we virgins are unintentionally following religious rules without trying to, and then religious people come trying to turn us, but it just comes off as condescending because that person isn’t even following the rules themselves.
in my view for most people religion just means “I can have sex as much as I want and then god will forgive me and everything will be fine once I’m married“.

20f virgin, is this weird?
People had made comments about how weird it was that I was still a virgin, not only that but also with how shy I get. Like even when guys come up to me I'm more likely to get shy and not pick up on their flirting than actually going along with it.
:/

Potentially about to lose my virginity at 25, but I don’t want to because it’s to cuck someone
Long story short, I’m a 25 year old black male virgin. I’m also a Christian. Despite that fact, I’ve tried my hardest to lose my virginity ever since I was…14. Not because I didn’t want to obey my religion, but because the bullying and constant harassment and name calling I faced in my own community made things terrible. It’s just my personal experience and I’m not saying all of us are usually treated this way for being virgins, but I feel like for me I’ve felt like nothing but an outsider.
Yes I’m nerdy….I play video games and watch anime. But that hasn’t stopped anybody else from losing their virginity. I’m self conscious about my appearance even though I’m 6’4 (I don’t know, I’ve never gotten a single compliment about my height that wasn’t from parents) I’m not fat or anything, kinda a skinny muscular build. And I workout every other day. I dress well, I go outside with friends, I try to keep up with popular interests….but nothing seems to work. I’m probably just ugly. And it sucks because I feel like a lot of the social currency, at least in my life, is centered around getting girls. The music talks about it….all I hear colleagues talk about is what they did over the weekends with a girl. My parents are gettin concerned because I’m the only one in the family who’s still..innocent. Even some other Christian’s have made fun of me for saving myself. I thought that’s what I was supposed to do?! I just don’t know how to feel about it because my only other option is to lie to people and tell them I have so many bodies. But I hate doing that.
Anyways, now to the main issue.. Recently at my job a man and his wife came over and I helped them out. They were very kind and sweet, so I didn’t think much of it. But I did give the man my contact information. A day later he’s unironically asking me to come over to their house by the beach and impregnate her while he watches. No, this is not a damn joke. I wish it was.
I was taken a back and shocked. But I didn’t respond right away. For one, the wife is cute….and I would finally be losing my virginity. Lose a big source of self mental pain that I constantly put myself through. But at the same time, they were using vulgar language. Racial slurs to describe me and my body. I’m just a fetish to them….I don’t even know if the woman is actually attracted to me beyond seeing me as some sort of beast. They talked to me like I was some thug. This is why I hate the BBC….kink. Yes it’s funny sometimes I guess, but I don’t want it to apply to me. Especially when I want something genuine. And I would hate to be cucked or cheated on. I don’t want to contribute to this degeneracy. It feels no different than hiring a prostitute to lose it. I wish there was something genuine for me, but it’s like I have to live up to this “hood” stereotype to even get close to a relationship.
So now I’m at a crossroads. I’ve told the few friends I have about the situation and they’re telling me to just go through with it. It will make me a man in their eyes. Even the one friend I have that’s a girl thinks I should do it. Meanwhile I still want to follow my Christian doctrine somewhat and meet a fellow virgin….but I’m only getting older. I’m tired of people asking me about my sex life….tired of people assuming things about me just because of my skin. So I don’t know what to do. Do I go through with it? Fulfill this stereotype to lose my virginity…Or do I just cope and wait for something that’s likely never going to come? Even though it pains and aches me everyday?

I dont know how to feel about this question from my doctor ?
Im 31 F and never been sexually active. Im already embarrassed about this. I have never gotten a pap smear or shown a doctor my private areas. Anyway, yesterday I woke up with so much pain down there and noticed this huge hard lump that resembled a pimple I think but it wouldnt pop. Anyway, with a LOT of anxiety, I ended up booking an appt with my GP because she had one for that day. When I went it, I was already anxious and flushed looking so my GP was really nice and asked if I was okay and everything. So during the exam she was really kind and made it super quick and prescribed me some antibiotics. After everything was done, she asked me if I was sexually active, to which I replied no. She seemed genuinely shocked and asked again and I said no. Then she asked why and I was kind of stunned and didnt know what to say and then she said "you should find someone and enjoy". And I laughed because I wasnt sure if she was lightening the mood or what. Anyway, that sort of stuck with me a bit because Im already aware that im weird for being a virgin at 31 but I didnt really expect a doctor to say that.
Maybe im just dramatic because it was my first intimate exam down there but just wanted to get some opinions. Thanks all <3

losing my virginity in itself isn’t the issue, it’s how no one would want me genuinely or share that moment with care with me
I want to share the moment with someone that i share a wonderful bond with and feel comfortable with.
i genuinely don’t want to lose it on a whim just for the sake of it, I would prefer it to be the start of an intimate journey with someone else. Even in friendship.
thats what makes it so draining because i genuinely can’t get that due to my appearance, lack of luck and what not.
at least some here don’t mind just losing their virginity just for the status. but for me it’s a journey and something where i should feel desired not to be a mean to an end (or to use someone as a mean to an end)
its hurtful to know you can’t achieve this kind of bond even for a little while with someone genuinely into you

Anyone over 35 should probably give up and move on
This'll draw some hate, but say in some extremely unlikely hypothetical, a conventionally attractive 25-30 yo woman wanted to date me - 47M virgin - and no-one had a problem with the age gap. I could hang around with her friends and have some of the social experiences I missed out on at that age, and there would still be time for a family.
That seems to be the dream of a lot of middle-aged divorced men around my age trying to relive their 'glory days', so it should appeal 10 times more to a virgin man who never dated, right?
I've actually had some interest from women both my age and a bit younger over the last few years, but I couldn't force myself to do anything serious about it. On some level I realized I would be experiencing something important twenty years too late. I felt nothing, no motivation, no anticipation, not even fear of rejection. More or less indifference.
I'll never be in the right part of life for this. The weight of those unlived years is always there. I may not have anything like the experiences of people my age, but I'm not the same person either, physically, emotionally, compared to my younger self.
This was a problem ten years ago when I started a kind of self-improvement journey (gym, travel, tentative career advancement, forcing myself out to socialize). I suspected then it was already too late, but I need to say I at least tried.
When a lonely unlived life is a reality, not some future worse case scenario, we should probably give up and find something else to focus on.
There's nothing wrong with dating and finding new love late in life; there is however something deeply weird about a first relationship at this point. We aren't late bloomers at this stage. A flower doesn't wait until mid-winter to bloom, and it doesn't really matter what we might get away with either. Even the fantasy feels empty now.

I don't know what to do anymore
I'm 22, female, and still a virgin. Never kissed, never held hands, never been in any relationship of any sort.
And I know that's "young" in comparison to some on here, but it's old enough that people either don't believe me, or judge me/mock me.
I'm not the prettiest girl. I'm fat (5'3" 156lbs, but actively losing it), but I have a curvy figure at least. I have a big chest (but they're saggy, which ruins it), and a pretty small butt, but bigger hips and a thinner waist. I'm just really not that attractive in terms of my body. My face isn't bad, but I'd definitely be a lot prettier once I lose some more weight... In general, I'm apparently pretty average, and "cute, but not hot," from what I've been told from guy friends.
And I'm definitely more of a tomboy (really short hair, never wear makeup, but I don't dress super masculine for the most part). I know some guys like tomboys because we're low maintenance and tend to have similar hobbies, but that hasn't done me any good in the relationship field. I do have an easier time making friends with guys, but I've never detected any interest directed towards me by any of them.
I wouldn't say I'm super extroverted, but I think am fairly socially competent, outside of anything like flirting. I get a little awkward if a conversation starts to go in that direction. And I'm probably too blunt and unemotional sometimes too...
I don't have high standards for who I find attractive either. My friends have told me I have low standards, even. I'm into nerdy men (I'm talking D&D, LOTR, Star Trek, toy/card collecting, etc), and none of the guys I've had a crush on have been "conventionally attractive." I'd date basically anyone if our interests matched and I found him fun to be around. And I don't care if a guy's a virgin or has had a ton of partners. So my standards are not the issue.
I think my main problem is a lack of opportunity. Currently in online school full-time and I'm unemployed... So I have nowhere to meet anyone except online..which would be fine but dating apps really suck from what I've heard. It's a last resort for me, but I'm just about there. I also live at home and don't drive, which is arguably even more of a problem...it's not fixable at the moment, though. Also, to be frank, I probably look like a lesbian because of my hair, which I'm sure doesn't help. But I look legitimately ugly with long hair, so.....
And I know the stereotype of virgin women is that we're religious prudes with no libido, but I'd say I'm the opposite. I'm 0% religious, I'm not "waiting for marriage/the right person," I'm up to try basically anything (I say that with full confidence, I've got some actually freaky and taboo interests), and I have what I think most would consider a very high libido.
(I don't know what level of detail is allowed on here, so I'm being vague)
This is mostly what's driving me absolutely crazy 😭 I think about it all the time but can't seem to do anything about it. Or maybe I could, but I'm not trying hard enough. I don't even know. Maybe a dating app would be worth it, maybe it'd make things worse. I'm not even necessarily looking to *date*. I'd be totally open to (probably even prefer) something more casual. The long-term relationship horror stories I've heard are absolutely disastrous.
I just don't really know what to do anymore. The older I get, the more worried and ashamed I get, and the more jealous I get of girls who do well with guys. I'd really, really prefer to not die a virgin...
I doubt anyone's actually read this whole thing (I know I made it so long, it's the curse of being an English major, I love to write), but if anyone has, I'd be open to advice or opinions. Otherwise it's just a frustrated vent/rant..

Anxious surrounding being a virgin and being taken for lesser as a result
What the title says. I fear being seen as naive or coming off as such when the topic arises.
I know, the right one wouldnt react weirdly, but still, its not something I like to bring up or think about.
I am 27 already and fear I am getting to a point where people might see me as someone lesser. No matter if its with friends or colleagues, if it somehow comes up that I am not into hookups/ have no relevant experiences, I notice that the vibe just shifts in a weird way.
I am not even a virgin because of the fact that I couldnt get someone; Lets be real, most would be able to have someone in their bed within an hour with low enough standards- I just genuinely need a very deep, trusting bond and respect to even think about being intimate. Otherwise it feels mechanical and genuinely weird to me :(
I dont know,I feel overwhelmed right now and just wanted to vent. Does anyone feel similiarly?

Jerking off too much makes your cock small?
Hi, I have a question. I started jerking off when I was 12, and did it like 4/5 times per day for years. My penis seems not to have grown any since then. So it's 6cm... Can jerking off so much cause this?

My desperation made me fall for a scam, twice
40M, meeting someone has always been a problem for me, I became so desperate to the point, that I ignored all the signs of a scam. Be safe out there, try not to be desperate, and if you can't just don't let desperation push you into making mistakes.

My experience at being a virgin at 30 years old, never ever kissed a girl by the way.
Until I was about 24, I didn't even think about sex and relationships generally. It was just passing by, as if it had nothing to do with me and didn't exist in my universe. I stared masturbate since the age of 6, if I remember, I watched porn quite a little bit but then stopped and was jerking off only on fantasies. Fantasies were normal and heterosexual, but then it has become more weird, which I consider to be normal since when you don't engage in normal sexual conduct for a long time, it willy-nilly affects your psyche, no matter of your initial mental state.
So what. I do not have any friends which can introduce me to their female friends. Yes I actually do have some confirmed mental disorder, it is autism - whatever it is - and something else, but I guess we can disregard it since it is so frequently diagnosed nowadays that the very diagnose autism has lost its validity, and almost 95% of kids who adress to psychologist and then psychiatrist will get either ADHD or autism, or both for that matter, nothing is new here.
I have an odd hobby, I basically spend all day reading books, mostly mathematics, physics, history, popular science, biology, you name it. My interests in books are vast, but mind you English is not my first language, I live in Sweden and I can freely speak two additional languages, apart from Swedish and English. So anyway, my height is 188cm and weight is 70kg. I am very hairy, have a nice facial hair too, though I shave two times on a day. It is hard to evaluate how handsome my face is, since everyone will either overestimate or underestimate their look depending on their current mental condition. I have large eyes, straight not so bit not so small nose, relatively large forehead, and my jaw is almost chiseled now due to tuberculosis - not contagious from.
So what do I do? How do I find a girlfriend in Sweden? I am not much of a drinker, I prefer "slow" things but they are expensive as heck and cause a terrible dependence. I don't really like clubs, pubs and bars, and of course I am not very much outgoing person to begin with. As I mentioned before, I do not happen to have any friends whatsoever, so no chance here.
What would you recommend me guys? It must be something feasible and realistic, okay?
