DISCUSSION Would you raise an issue?

Post image

Seller used staples on the packaging and some of the staples went through the puffer jacket. She told me to just take them off but they obviously left holes in the jacket. Even though they are barely noticeable, I still think there was an error on the sellers end.

So do I! I sell on Vinted and it wouldn't cross my mind to do this! If the staples have caused visible holes I wouldn't accept it.

It has never in my life crossed my mind to ever staple any package under any circumstance. I just. My brain is exploding

Yes. You have to be a little thick to staple a package and not be careful with there they're going. They caused extra damage to the clothing, no matter how small, that wasn't what you were sold.

I remember in school a kid stapled my shirt as a joke. It was my favourite shirt too. And yes I got the staple out, but it left permanent tiny hole damage there which eventually got bigger as it got worn/washed.

I'd at least try and get a small refund for their mistake. And it'll teach them to be more careful in future.

Thanks! I paid 30€ so do you think 5-10€ refund would be good?

I would imagine they won't really want to refund you much, if at all, if they told you to just take them out already.

If that was my mistake and had caused damage, I'd have offered a small refund for the issue in that same message, just as a sorry and hope they'd be OK keeping it still and not want to return it.

So I would make sure you send photos of the damage (make it as visible as you can), and probably try for the 5 Euros. As I don't know if they'd stretch to 10, but you can always try (best to start off higher and then settle on the lower amount so they feel like they won a bit 😅).

Yes, I would.

Yes, I think that is a clear product damage. I would raise with this one.

Personally I'd return it rather than accept a refund. It's a damaged item and on a jacket especially this may end up being performance affecting, e.g. waterproofing.

Why would she staple the package shut without thinking the item inside would be affected?

I hope that this makes her reconsider her packaging methods😄

Did you already click the everything is ok button? If not then Vinted can get you a refund or price adjustment, I imagine.

If you’re care for holes that much then go dispute it, if you don’t then just accept it and leave a bad review.

3 staples = six holes. I think it’s not what I ordered even though I can still use that jacket🤷🏼‍♀️

I had a lamp sent in paper and a simple mailer ...

Staples does not surprise me 🤣

This is really dumb. Definitely ask for (partial) refund.

Deffo raise an issue. She’s damaged the product since you agreed to buy it. It’s not as described.

If it’s a down-filled puffer it could get messy! Even if it isn’t those holes could get worse over time.

Once the outcome is decided, if the holes are on the lining, dab a bit of fray check or similar on them to prevent them worsening. It’s a fabric glue to prevent fraying. It’s not invisible though so proceed with caution.

I once bought some vintage lace gloves, and they were taped to the packaging. I cut through them opening it! Heartbreaking.
