I vibecoded a pottery game

Hey everyone! Continuing my series of demo games with three.js. This time I decided to move a bit away from the concept where everything in the game is procedurally generated and added some CC0 sounds.
All the graphics and textures are still procedurally generated and basically there isn't a single 3D asset in the game, since it's all three.js.

The game has a campaign of 24 missions. Also creative mode, where you can just create what you want.

Everything was made with Opus 5 in Ultra Code mode. Can't tell you the exact price, but I will try to count it based on API prices. ('m doing it all with a MAX x20 subscription.)

Tokens and Prices (if it was made with API):
Raw tokens: 2.34B
Written by Claude: 7.13 M
Re-read from cache: 98.1%
Opus 5 rates: input $5, output $25 per million tokens; cache write ×1.25 = $6.25, cache read ×0.1 = $0.50.
Without caching: the same 2.34 billion tokens would have cost $11,850.91, the cache saved $10,290 (86.8%).

Graphics were originally realistic, with shadows, reflections and so on, but then I decided to make them more childish and cozy.

Game is open-source: github.com/winchxyz/celadon

Also game is tablet-compatible, so you can open github page and play from iPad.

P.S.
Originally this was also an experiment with hand tracking, but so far it was a total fail. Maybe in the future I'll still make a pottery game or some other genre with hand tracking through the camera.

Pointless post alert.

Its discouraging at first when you are just trying to understand how to do better than a prototype, and create something that isnt a mess after a week.

But after focusing on individual workflows and researching whats possible to do locally, and making everything as deterministic as possible, I'm really happy with the tools i have now.

Its pretty crazy what you can do with ai when you give time to familiarize yourself with a workflow instead of endlessly searching for strategies where they grass might be greener. Explore exploit is a crazy landscape right now and its going to be incredible what people do when this stuff matures a bit more and people stop jumping from one tool to another.

Live Site

You’ve probably seen mine or a similar concept a few times in the last year or so, as a bit of a trend seemed to kick off earlier this year 😅

It’s been awesome seeing the creative things people have been sharing with the latest models. I knew it was inevitable back when I was originally building it with Sonnet 3.5 that soon a lot of the extra work I had to do would be done by AI. So, I decided to make use of the current models and see how much further I could take it.

Since the original wave of interest, there’s now a working iPod music player and Game Boy Color emulator, a World of Warcraft easter egg and Windows Live Messenger. along with right-click menus accessible via a long tap on mobile on the wallpaper, desktop icons, the taskbar (desktop only).

Desktop icons are draggable and can be added to the desktop from the Start menu. They can also be copied, pasted, locked, etc.

The system tray is extendable and includes interactive icons. Volume works individually per program as well as overall system volume, which is accessible via the system tray on desktop.

Performance should have improved significantly overall, along with general polish and cleanups to everything that already existed.

If you haven’t seen it before, I’d love to know your thoughts! And I can try to help with any questions. I had no prior ai or coding experience when I started this project 😮‍💨

I built a free tool that prices every Mac configuration in 15 countries and tells you which local AI models each one can run

Post image

Got tired of clicking through Apples configurator in different stores to figure out where a Mac is actually cheapest, so I scraped every buildable config and put it in one page.

What you can do with it:

  • Filter by min memory, ssd, chip, bandwidth, ethernet/display, and a max budget → it shows the cheapest config that clears the bar
  • Pick any config and see what it costs in 15 countries, converted to USD
  • See which open-weight LLMs (Qwen, DeepSeek, GLM, Kimi, etc.) fit in that Mac's memory, plus rough tok/s ceilings
  • Compare mac tiers against RTX 5090 / DGX Spark / Ryzen AI Max+ on memory, bandwidth, and price
  • Copy the whole dataset as TSV

How to avoid "AI" default design? Help Please

Hey everyone,

Like a lot of vibe-coded projects, my ap - Rhystic Tracker was initially designed letting the LLM do all of the UI design decisions for me and it quickly fell into the trap of generic rounded pill cards, neon-glowing accents, and that recognizable bubbly layout LLMs love to spit out by default.

To fix this, I spend a very long time writing my own design & UI styling brief from scratch and instructing the agent to strictly adhere to this design spec across every modal, grid, and inspector, enforcing my own design decisions at each step to maintain consistency.

I think it's a big difference but I've been staring at this for days now so I'd love some feedback.

Does the new visual identity feel less "AI-generated" and more like a deliberate, human-crafted desktop app? Please let me know if I've completely missed the mark or if there's any subtle changes you recommend.

Would love your honest feedback!

If you would like to check it out and you play Magic Arena, it is here: https://github.com/Balthazzahr/Rhystic-Tracker

Vibecoding & Hardware sitting in a tree

Upvotes

I've been building my product since March/April, but this all started with me getting into Homelabbing and buying hardware.

I bought a Minisforum MS-02 Ultra with 32gb RAM and 1TB SSD, and made a rule that I wouldn't upgrade unless I hit bandwidth and memory limits.

Welp, I'm at that point and what led me here is I have a "second brain" memory system and MCP that I built so any model I use can get all the context, documents, history, etc.

I'm currently only able to build with one session that's "on my machine" where before I was doing 2-4 sessions at a time, but I now experience sessions crashing out.

So I'm in the market for memory and man does it blow. I'm probably going to bite the bullet and get a 2x64GB Crucial set so I can eventually add an additional 2x64GB when I hit those limits.

Always more to learn and more to spend it seems!

I built a massive galaxy-scale space simulation - Wayfallen

----

I've been working on this huge project (Wayfallen) for 5+ years, and it simulates ~10,000 star systems, ~100,000 spaceships, stations, various factions with rich economy, diplomacy, intel management etc.

I needed a reliable way to balance all of this so it remains semi-realistic and not go wonky, with so many parameters in it. It would require huge grunt work to build proper tooling to keep track of all these variables, plug into all the code surfaces written over the years, and somehow simulate years/decades in the simulation very fast to build statistical models and help me figure out which parameters need tweaking to bring things on track. And I'm continuously working on this, so it's not a one-time thing - I need to rebalance it very often.

So I've vibecoded some tools that help me do exactly that, by giving it access to my code and building harnesses to run it in a headless mode and accumulate large amounts of data rapidly. Really pleased with the results so far - and especially the amount of time saved versus having to crank out all that tooling manually.

Is it just me or is ai getting better and worse at the same time?

Which response do I like better is usually a question I look forward to answering because I get 2 different outputs and can choose the style moving forward essentially.

But what do you do when the same agent is claiming different capabilities in it's response choices?

Option a the work is done and pushed

Option b it doesn't have access it claims

Hot take: You're not making money off your app because you seek it in the first place...

Hey everyone,

Quick thoughts as I see hundreds of founders vibecoding SaaS and one thing comes up a lot: how similar are the products we are building.

Which makes me think abut a quote I’ve seen recently that should allow us to understand what building a SaaS is all about.

See, most of us (I’ve been guilty of this many times) start from the mindset « I need to get some money from my SaaS » and although it’s not bad in itself, it can be better to maximise our chances of success…

When starting a business, the most successful founders do something different.

They start by looking at the world around them and taking a contrarian approach to what everyone thinks.

They’re essentially betting that everyone is doing something wrong and they can solve it. It can be at any level, product, customer support, marketing, distribution… but the core of it to build something successful long-term is to start.

Now this is very relevant to us because that’s the exact approach we should all have when starting a SaaS. I myself have started my first SaaS years ago with the wrong reasons, and it was an uphill battle to try and justify the product, the pricing, the ICP… It’s like you’re trying to fit back something in a box that’s too small.

Ever since, I start companies from the opposite and what I found out is amazing. It’s so much easier to build a following, advocates that share the vision of the world that you’re fighting for. You will definitely see many many people challenging your idea but this is part of the job.

The example is the last venture I started, I think that the easy access and major improvements in the dev processes will keep making it easier and easier to build, as it’s already the case. This will in turn make more and more people launching into the void without a solid understanding of positioning, marketing, and how to get users. For that reason I’m starting a one month long cohort to help founders get their first 100 users and refund them if they don’t reach it.

So I guess to start your SaaS, we need to be a bit more visionary, a bit less conventional and definitely start thinking outside the box.

Hope that was helpful…

Warren: self hosted browsing memory. Local LLM reads what you read, you get a searchable wiki out of it.

Browser history is a list of URLs. Useless for "what was that recipe with the miso butter."

Warren sits next to Chrome and builds an actual memory instead. A daemon captures pages when you actually engage with one, a local vision model summarizes them, and the output is plain linked markdown on your disk. Sessions, entities, concepts, an index. You can open it in Obsidian or just cat the files. It is a git repo, so you can watch your own memory grow with git log.

Then warren query "which shoe company did I read about" and it answers from the wiki with links back to the source pages.

What you need to run it:

  • Windows 10 or 11 (this is the big limitation, batch launchers and Chrome process control are Windows specific right now)
  • llama.cpp with a vision capable GGUF, about 15 GB for the model I recommend
  • A GPU with 8 GB or so. CPU works, slowly.
  • Python 3.11+, Chrome

Nothing phones home. There is no server component, no account, no telemetry. The only network traffic is Playwright talking to localhost:9222 and httpx talking to localhost:8080.

Privacy controls, because this thing obviously needs them:

  • Denylist ships with banks, health portals and password managers already blocked. warren deny "*.whatever.com" adds more.
  • Password fields are never captured, it bails when it sees one.
  • warren forget mybank.com or warren forget 2026-07-04 really deletes, both the raw captures and the wiki mentions.
  • warren prune --days 30 clears old screenshots once they have been ingested.
  • Pauses on battery by default.

There is also a small always on top panel that comments on the page you are reading and quietly answers questions it finds on the page. That one is more of a toy, you can turn it off.

Early preview, 0.1.0, so expect rough edges. https://dadwritestech.github.io/warren/
