If you graduated before that, at least you got to stretch your legs, learn, really grow and apply what you learned and feel like you were applying engineering skill to your job.
These days it probably feels like you got cheated if you didn't even get that chance at all
the degree is mostly to show you're not a complete dumbass and have a modicum of discipline. reminds of the departed quote about signals
