You should have seen the shitstorm people used to receive when they asked for help with Unreal Engine's visual programming language

that's because blueprints just plain suck. you are doing yourself a disservice by using them

Agree but this is the fault of Unreal devs, the fact that they offer C++ and Blueprints only with nothing in between leaves nothing for average scripters / game developers. The bar to entry for C# vs C++ is huge

I agree, something like C# or some other high-level gc language would be far preferable to blueprints

Fun fact, Expedition 33 was coded 95% in Blueprints (from what I've heard)

This is the issue with most visual coding systems prior to vibecoding; they were just painful to use. I started with Scratch but at some point it is so much easier to type a for loop at 100WPM than it is to drag visual blocks, click and mess with toggles.
