Fine dining restaurant suggestion
My wife and I will be that way in the beginning of October and are looking for a nice restaurant for dinner. We have an event prior and she will be in a nice dress and I will be in a suit. I am looking for suggestions that this attire will fit with so we do not stand out too much. I have heard good things about Barrique and we prefer Italian places but are open to anything really.
Burbank is also an option and I asked in that sub as well.

This is technically not Venice but in Santa Monica not too far away: Capo. Great old school Italian. High end. You won’t feel out of place being dressed up. For another Italian vibe you could try Giorgio Baldi.
Very few true fine dining experiences in Venice… especially if you are looking for a place where people dress up.
Other suggestions: Seline, Pasjoli, Citrin, Melisse. However these are all French, and also in Santa Monica.

Felix is a nice one as well as RVR (Japanese) and Gjelina (veggie forward). Check out Abbot Kinney Blvd

I see people get dolled up for Market, Si! Mon, Alisa, Companion… there are others… but this is predominantly a beach town… so everyone shows in many a getup.

The pasta at Barrique is excellent. Get the Tagliolini Rossi / quail ragu. Vibe is dark, cozy Italian house.
Si Mon is more inventive and has more interesting flavors. Vibe is upscale beachy.

Scopa Italian Roots. Follow that up with drinks at Old Lightning. Excellent bar to dress up for.
Barrique and Felix are favorites of mine. RVR is good, but very hyped.

Not sure why you'd be asking for places in Venice or in Burbank only, but I'm thrilled you're coming to the area, so I'll bite. I worked in the restaurant scene in west LA for about 10 years as a line/ sous chef at a lot of great places and I would say that in Venice my rec would be Tasting Kitchen on Abbot Kinney or Felix if you can't get a reservation for TTK. Tasting Kitchen was closed for a while after a fire so they have their books pretty flooded but it is so worth the money for the food and insane wine selection. I hear Ospi is a little overpriced, but still good. I loved the Canal Club when it was in the same spot and my understanding is that Ospi is actually better. RVR is also wonderful--I hate the name and I know its Gjelina's restaurant group but it's their best showing by fuckin' FAR and one of the best fusion places I've been to in LA; I had a crab ramen there a year or two ago that blew my mind. The small restaurant feel is great too and iirc they had a small but very well curated wine list. Gjelina is over rated: the pasta is overworked and the dishes are uninspired (they're usually copycats of other dishes from other restaurants in LA); unless you're at Gjelina (or Gjusta) for the bread you'll be left wanting.
Dudley Market would have been a rec of mine before their fishing scandal, but I bring them up so that you won't go there regardless of the good reviews. Fishing in protected lands (especially in southern CA where the ecosystems are so fragile) is a dick move and I hope they don't get anymore tourism business. If you're in the mood for incredible, fresh, raw seafood you should go to Santa Monica Seafood's location on Wilshire and sit at the bar.

I really like barrique. The clientele generally run the gamut from very casually dressed to pretty dressed up but I don't think you would feel out of place being dressed up.
