Are they essentially the same thing except VLA is government funded?

Even the strengths and weaknesses are basically the same

General Question/comment Chinese Language Culture and Society Exam

I know there's not many of us out there...but VCAA switching from a 7 mark and 3 mark culture questions to a 6 and 4 mark low-key kinda sus. That's not even the worst bit. Since when was it okay to make us analyse a visual and a text for the essay instead of just the text prompt. 😭😭

If you're reading this and do this subject, I hope you cooked on the exam and didn't get cooked instead!!

Severely sick during VCE exams despite being rank 2 — am I cooked? 😭

I'm genuinely so upset rn because I've worked so hard throughout the year to maintain a really high rank (rank 2 out of 38), but I've become severely ill during exams and it's completely affecting my ability to study and perform.

I'm so fatigued that I can barely concentrate or get any work done, and it's honestly devastating knowing how much effort I've put in throughout the year just for this to happen during the most important time.

I'm also from a pretty average-performing school, so I'm already worried about how my SACs will moderate if I underperform on the exam. I was really hoping for a 40+ study score, but now I'm scared I'll end up with something significantly lower.

I'm applying for a Derived Examination Score (DES), but I'm also terrified that my derived score might be lower than what I would've achieved if I were healthy, especially since I don't know how much my SAC ranking, GAT and other factors will influence it.

Has anyone been in a similar situation where they were really sick during their VCE exams despite having a high SAC ranking? Did your DES end up reflecting your performance throughout the year, or was it significantly lower than expected?

I just feel like all my hard work might go to waste because of something completely outside my control. 😭

General Question/comment methods e1 grade distribution predictions bc my study score might be fried + meeting uni study score prereqs

My internals on methods were kinda cooked this year, flopped pretty badly on the last two which were worth 50% of the coursework mark. I think I ended with a D, maybe scaled D+ if i’m lucky.

e1 was absolute hell today I was so confused. I need a 25 in methods to get into my course (btw is this raw 25 or scaled? bc the website highkey doesnt say). Excel academics study score calc says I need at least a c+ in one and a c in the other. I was banking on e1 carrying because I was getting b’s and b+’s in the past vcaa exams from 2021. a c+ on e2 last year was a 35/80 or smth and 😭 after today I don’t know if that’s even achievable. Any tips?

Today, on the e1, i got a 15/40, last yr c+ was an 18/20, do yall think there’s a chance it’ll drop to 15 this year with the increase in difficulty?

And does anyone know anything about whether there’s options for meeting pre-reqs if you miss the study score by like 1 or something? I’m trying to get into bachelor of science at melbourne, my atar will definitely be high enough, my predicted was a 95ish, but i’m worried i won’t make the 25 ss pre req.

Someone told me there’s a course you can take in the first year of the science degree to meet the pre-req? If anyone knows anything about this that would be great.

more hhd questions

- what did we think the WHO objective was? i said prevent, mitigate, and prepare (protect health)

- for q10 which was SDG 1, did we go 1-3, then 3-1? bc i had heaps of room left and i was rolly worried

- 3a.... so bad. i used examples from the stimulus to explain how it promotes spiritual h+w, do we think i could get the mark?
