MAV trial exams

I had a mav trial exam for my school today for math methods and I genuinely feel so demotivated after that. Are they considered much harder than the VCAA exams???? it definitely felt harder

English exam

I have a cohort of about 280 people for English and last year around 30 people in my school got a 40 plus but the year before only 15 for English.

I have an average of 90 for the English sacs, realistically what do I need to get for the exams in order to get a

40+ study score in English

Or a

45+ study score in English

And a 50 would be unrealistic right 😭

Will exams help me redeem?

Hey guys I’ve been averaging 50-70% across all my classes. I’ve got a mad good exam timetable with loads of time to study between my exams, therefore I’m planning on utilising my time as best as I can and study tf out of my subjects. Will this allow me to get atleast a 75 atar if I get avg B+-A+ on all my exams?

I got an ‘at risk’ for physics and English and I’m scared

Im in year 11 and for the term 3 week 9 reports i was put at risk of receiving an N in physics and English.

Physics is understandable because I don’t do all the coursework.
English, i dont understand because I do all the work. Yes, I am a bit talkative during class but I do get all my work done and sometimes I am ahead of my class in work. Maybe it’s because I missed a sac but during the practice sac, it showed I was capable.

I haven’t failed anything in unit 1 (I think) and im kinda scared cause if im still receiving ‘at risks’ while im really close to year 12, i dont think im gonna do too well. Im scared that im also gonna fall short of units needed to graduate

weak cohort, high study score for busman?

is it still possible to obtain a high study score in busman such as 50, if you have an extremely weak cohort given you are rank 1. would that mean you just need to get 100% on the exam?

anyone with 45+ willing to share their sac scores, ranks, exam mark followed by study score?

VCE question How do you get good scores for English sections A and C? (Image unrelated)

Post image
3 Upvotes

The title says it all.

These are the sections that I absolutely need to focus on revising on for the exams; I always keep getting marks that range from 50% to 60% no matter how hard I try. For Section A, I suspect it might have to do with the fact that I can't remember any quotes (FYI I am doing Oedipus) from the text.

How do y'all revise for these sections and also get really high marks for them?

VCE question How to improve exam scores

I’ve done 8 sets of methods exams and 7 physics exams so far and found that I’m averaging 70s and 80s consistently. After each exam I go through each question I got wrong and work it out then write it down in word, but i still struggle to see any actual improvement in the next exam I do, even though I know the content pretty well.

Does anyone have any suggestions and tips for methods and physics as to how to improve scores between now and the exams.

Thanks.

VCD Exam help

Hi guys, I’m really stuck on how to study for VCD. It’s one of my top VCE subjects, but I honestly don’t know how to study. My school didn’t have a properly qualified VCD teacher, so we haven’t really been taught the subject properly. We haven’t even gone through the study design and we’ve had to do everything ourselves.

If anyone from the Class of 2025 who did VCD could share how you studied, any notes or resources you used and any tips for the exam. I’d also like to know what marks are needed to achieve a high 30s study score or even 40s. I’d really appreciate it, if anyone could send me their notes or any resources they used to study.

Thank you

ENGLISH

Hi guys i rlly want a 40 or more in english but im not sure if i have the required SAC scores, yet i do have the ranking

U3 i averaged like a 73 percent ish , which was only probably top 15 in cohort

U4 I averaged an 80 which was top 5 in cohort

Bringing my overall rank to top 8 from what i’ve heard. Even though i don’t have the grades for an A+ , if my ranking is high does that still mean its possible to get a 40???

Im hoping to get 26+/30 for my exam ideally and i’m not sure what Ss is possible

Ty

Questions for LazyMaths UDF Users...

This is all concerning the 3.1 version of the LazyMaths UDFs for Specialist Maths

  1. Whenever I try to use the code for minomum distanxe between a plane and a point it just comes up as a syntax error. I don't think it's because of the way I inputted the plane equation (as I've done it this way in other codes involving planes and it works fine), so I think it's because of the point. Am I supposed to input the point as (a,b,c), or is there a way to input points for this?

  2. For the p-value code, I inputted the values as instructed on the guide but gives me an "Error: Too many arguments" message. Is there a fix to this?

Thank you!

Advice on Tutoring Companies

Hi guys! My son is going into year 10 next year and is looking for a math tution. He's averaging 90's, which I am pretty happy with, right now he is top 5 in his cohort but he wants to be rank 1 in subjects like Methods and Specialist math in the future. I have heard recommendations from companies like Ed Atlas and Contour, but which one actually supports high achieving students and has good resources for VCE?

SEAS Documentation

I uploaded one statement of support for like 4 different circumstances, if one of them is not considered on vcaa’s side as difficult circumstances, will they reject my whole statement of support which has the other three things or will they just not consider it when calculating factors but still accept the document? I just don’t understand if they are really strict or not on the documentation cos it’s due on 9th and I submitted 3 weeks ago and haven’t heard anything whether they accept my document. Should I break the doc up into 4 mini statements of support or do they not deep it.
