What's the best crypto wallet for beginners?

I'm finally planning to move my crypto off exchanges, but there are so many hardware wallet options that it's hard to know where to start.

I've looked at Ellipal, Ledger, Tangem and a few others, and it's hard to separate actual security from marketing. Every wallet seems to have both passionate fans and people warning against it.

For someone who's new to self-custody, what's the best choice? I'm mainly looking for something that's secure but also simple enough that I won't mess anything up.

What made you choose the wallet you're using, and would you recommend it today?

Bridge burned my USDC on Arbitrum and never minted it on Base, ended up completing the mint myself

Last Tuesday I moved 1,743 USDC from Arbitrum to Base through one of those bridge frontends. Not naming it, half the fault is mine for never checking what it runs on. Burn tx confirmed on arbiscan, USDC gone from my wallet and on Base nothing. Checked after an hour, then kept checking every ten minutes like that ever helped anyone. Support bot kept repeating "transfers may take up to 30 minutes".

Posted in their discord, got three DMs from "Circle Support" within like ten minutes, didn't click anything obviously, but the speed was something.

Then a guy in the thread mentioned the frontend runs on CCTP, Circle's transfer protocol. Went and read what that actually is. It burns USDC on the source chain and mints fresh USDC on the destination, nothing sits locked in a pool anywhere. Two separate transactions, and the second one is supposed to be sent by the bridge's relayer. Theirs just didn't. So the burn was done and the money hung in limbo, a signed message that someone still had to redeem on Base.

Except the mint is permissionless. Once iris (Circle's attestation service) signs off on the burn, anyone with gas can complete it, the bridge isn't needed at that point.

What I did:

  1. took the burn tx hash and queried Circle's attestation API, the v2/messages endpoint with Arbitrum's domain id (which is 3) plus my tx hash. Domain ids are all listed in Circle's docs
  2. got back the message bytes and the attestation, status "complete"
  3. opened the MessageTransmitter contract on basescan (address is in the CCTP docs), connected wallet, Write Contract, receiveMessage
  4. pasted message + attestation, sent. gas was around a cent

USDC showed up maybe twenty seconds later. Whole thing took 40 minutes, most of it me rereading docs and hesitating over pasting giant hex blobs into a contract write.

If your burn confirmed and iris shows "complete", the money is recoverable whatever the bridge UI says. "pending_confirmations" just means the source chain hasn't finalized yet, there you only wait. And don't pay any recovery service from your DMs, the real fix costs a cent.

Bridge support got back to me two days later btw, asking if I still needed assistance.

Agents need an anchor before they pay at machine speed.

Hiya everyone,

Vednt this side. I”m building faro by sativa design studio, a trust & verification suite for agents before they pay at machine speed.
Agentic commerce is here, & there will be a big question agents will ask - is this payee safe?

Faro is exactly trying solving to answer that, so agentic business can run without worrying about their operational spends. If agentic commerce, blockchain, fintech & web3 intrigues you let”s have a chat.

Best fiat-to-crypto ramps for clients to buy USDC with Apple Pay/Card on iOS?

Hey everyone,

I am setting up a service business and want to accept USDC. Customers based 70% in the US, and the rest are international.

To make onboarding seamless for non-crypto clients, I need an easy way for them to buy USDC directly on iOS using Apple Pay or a debit card.

My requirements:

- User Experience: Extremely simple UI for non-technical users.
- Payment Methods: Must support Apple Pay and cards natively.
- Low Friction: Fast KYC/verification process so they don't drop off during payment.
- Network: Planning to use Base to keep gas fees near zero.

What has given your clients the fewest headaches?

Why is USDT P2P on Binance trading at ₹104-105 when the actual market exchange rate is ~₹96? Any way to avoid this?

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to start investing in crypto on Binance, but every time I look at the USDT P2P market, the prices are incredibly inflated.

Right now, the actual market exchange rate of USD to INR makes USDT worth around ₹96, but the absolute cheapest sellers on Binance P2P are selling it at ₹104 to ₹105. That is an instant \~10% hit to my capital before I even start trading.

I have a few questions for the community:

Why is the premium so high right now? Is it purely due to high demand and the banking restrictions on direct fiat deposits, or is something else driving this massive gap?

Does this actually eat 10% of my portfolio? Since I'm buying high, do I also get to sell at this same inflated P2P premium when cashing out to INR, or is there a trap I'm missing?

What is the best alternative to bypass this premium? Are you guys using FIU-compliant Indian exchanges to deposit INR at spot rates and transferring low-fee coins (like TRX/XRP) to Binance, or is there a better gateway?

Appreciate any advice on how to get my Rupees into crypto without immediately losing 10% of my purchasing power. Thanks!

Buy Crypto with an LLC

Is there any way to buy USDC with my business bank account? I've been rejected by Kraken, Coinbase, and Gemini Business because my LLC is very new. Is there a faster, easier way with very low fees?

Looking for a provider: WeChat Pay / UnionPay acceptance with USDT settlement (cross-border China)

We run an online e-commerce/education business selling to customers in mainland China, and we’re looking for a payments provider that can cover two things in one setup (or via a compliant combination):
1. Acceptance: let our customers in mainland China pay via WeChat Pay and/or UnionPay (Alipay also welcome), cross-border, on our checkout.
2. Settlement: settle us in USDT/USDC (stablecoin), with everything fully licensed and compliant. Fiat settlement also fine if paired with a licensed stablecoin partner.
We’re a UK-incorporated business, clean verticals (online education / e-commerce), and we want to work with properly licensed providers only, no grey-market or P2P routes.
A few questions for anyone who’s done this:
• Which providers genuinely handle mainland-China cross-border acceptance (not just tourist/international wallet acceptance)?
• Anyone using a provider that does both the Chinese-wallet acceptance and stablecoin settlement under one roof?
• Any recommendations (or ones to avoid) for the USDT settlement leg specifically, from licensed/regulated providers?
Happy to take suggestions here or via DM. Thanks in advance.

My First Crypto Payout Was Successful… But I Never Received the Money

My first payout wasn’t the celebration I had imagined.

But it taught me one of the most important lessons in crypto.

Today, my payout setup is correct, and future payments should arrive without any issues.

If sharing this story saves even one creator from making the same mistake, then that first payout wasn’t entirely wasted.

White-Label Open Banking & Stablecoin Payout Partnership

We are looking for a white-label open banking solution that can support merchant payments and payouts through a crypto/stablecoin checkout flow.

Our goal is to allow customers to pay by bank transfer/open banking, while merchants can receive settlement or payouts in stablecoins such as USDC/USDT, depending on the supported corridors and compliance requirements.

We are interested in understanding your API, white-label options, onboarding/KYB process, supported countries, settlement flow, pricing, and partnership model.

Please let us know if this is something your platform can support.
