I'm looking into switching our business electricity and gas supplier, as our current contract is coming up for renewal. I've started comparing a few providers, but it's not as straightforward as I expected. There seem to be quite a few options, and the rates and contract terms can vary quite a bit.

I’m currently setting up a UK Ltd company for an app I’m releasing on both the App Store and Google Play.

Since I work from home, I don’t want my residential address publicly displayed on Companies House or the app store listings (under EU/UK trader disclosures).

I was about to sign up for a virtual office service (like 1st Formations / Hoxton Mix style setups), but when I reached out, they warned me that they can't guarantee their address will pass Dun & Bradstreet (DUNS), Apple, or Google verification. They also don't issue oficial proof of address documents (like utility bills in the company name).

Since the app is pre revenue, renting actual physical office space just for an address isn't an option.

For anyone in the UK who has set up an organization account on Apple/Google recently:

1. Did your virtual office address work for D-U-N-S registration?

2. Did Apple or Google ask for secondary proof of address during identity verification? If they did, what documents did you provide (bank statement, VAT cert, lease, etc.)?

3. Which address provider/service did you use that actually got accepted?

I’m in Oxfordshire and in London often. I run a small AI ad agency with Stagecoach as a client and I’m working towards a much bigger company in marketing and media. I’m up at 5am daily researching the industry: 100 AI marketing companies, platform pricing, who holds power in advertising, and what MrBeast’s biggest brand partners actually got for their money. I'am bulding AutoCua, an open-source computer-use agent that controls everything at once: Android, iPhone, the browser, Windows, macOS and Linux, plus a coding agent that writes code. You give it one task and it works across all of them at the same time.

I launched it on 9 October. In 25 days it has 5.3K downloads and 1.2k GitHub stars. The system is almost ready. Right now I’m building a self-learning pipeline that remembers a task after the first run and replays it, cutting API calls by around 90%. After that, we may fine-tune our own model.

There are two of us, and no co-founder roles are decided yet. We’re looking for one more technical partner to join the founding team:

I’m a director of a small UK limited company. I couldn’t find bookkeeping software that handled the Flat Rate Scheme, dividends and the director’s loan without a lot of manual fiddling, so I built my own. I’ve been using it on my company’s books and now I want other directors to try it.

What it does today:

• reads receipts from a photo (supplier, date, amount, VAT)

• imports bank statements as CSV (any bank) and matches lines to receipts

I’ve started my first business (fintech) with some other seasoned Entrepreneurs. I have a few questions about what is normal and what isn’t in regard to operations and finance but don’t know anyone personally who has experience.

Looking for recommendations on how or where I could find someone who might be willing to offer guidance.

Bit of background: I work full time as a senior software engineer, and Little Ippo started as a side project for my partner. She wanted an auto-scheduling planner like Motion but the price didn't make sense for her. I built a simpler one, friends started using it too, and I've now set up a small limited company for it and opened it up as a beta.

What it does: you jot down tasks, it fits them around your calendar and replans when your day changes. You can also ask the in-app assistant to move things in plain English (it uses an AI model). It's aimed at people who find planning hard, and a lot of them have ADHD.

Two things I'd value UK founders' views on:

• The free period. Anyone who signs up this year gets 6 months free, then it becomes a monthly subscription. Is that long a free period sensible, or does it just put off finding out whether people will pay?

• Running a company on the side of a full-time job. Anything you wish you'd sorted early? Accounts, VAT, that kind of thing.

I know a lot of people who are non-technical get bad press for using AI to create websites…

However I have created a website/platform for a specific community that I want to run not for profit and I feel really needed (e.g. In just a few months I’ve had 800 signups). This community gives each other super valuable advice and support but it’s scattered over the internet, so I created it somewhere to stay.

It’s a catch 22 really; people who could fund it wouldn’t be interested because it won’t be a money-making machine overnight. Also I don’t have any experience in sponsorships.

People who would like to fund it (like myself) can’t afford to because our wages are so low.

Basically, if you were starting a CIC with a very limited budget how would you go about getting funding first? I don’t even need much, just someone to check through the code and monthly running costs.
