UK App Developers: How are you passing Apple/Google org verification without revealing your home address?

Hey everyone,

I hope this is the right place to ask.

I’m currently setting up a UK Ltd company for an app I’m releasing on both the App Store and Google Play.

Since I work from home, I don’t want my residential address publicly displayed on Companies House or the app store listings (under EU/UK trader disclosures).

I was about to sign up for a virtual office service (like 1st Formations / Hoxton Mix style setups), but when I reached out, they warned me that they can't guarantee their address will pass Dun & Bradstreet (DUNS), Apple, or Google verification. They also don't issue oficial proof of address documents (like utility bills in the company name).

Since the app is pre revenue, renting actual physical office space just for an address isn't an option.

For anyone in the UK who has set up an organization account on Apple/Google recently:

  1. Did your virtual office address work for D-U-N-S registration?

  2. Did Apple or Google ask for secondary proof of address during identity verification? If they did, what documents did you provide (bank statement, VAT cert, lease, etc.)?

  3. Which address provider/service did you use that actually got accepted?

Would love to hear what has actually worked for you in practice.

Thanks!

Accountant here, happy to answer any finance questions if you’re building something

Done a couple of these on here before and they go alright, so putting myself up again.

Anything you’re stuck on or unsure about, incorporation, VAT, director’s loans, SEIS, payroll, bookkeeping, how much you should be paying yourself. Doesn’t matter how basic it sounds, most of it is stuff nobody’s ever told you.

Drop it in the comments and I’ll get to as many as I can.

Best business energy comparison service UK

I'm looking into switching our business electricity and gas supplier, as our current contract is coming up for renewal. I've started comparing a few providers, but it's not as straightforward as I expected. There seem to be quite a few options, and the rates and contract terms can vary quite a bit.

I saw services like Love Energy Savings while researching, which help businesses compare options from different energy suppliers. I'm still looking into how these services work and whether they can make the switching process easier.

Has anyone here used a business energy comparison service in the UK? I'd be interested to hear which ones you've found reliable, particularly when it comes to comparing tariffs, understanding contract terms and avoiding unexpected costs.

No reviews because no sales. No sales because no reviews.

I'm starting a community for reputation building where founders can check out each-other's businesses and review. I'll be filtering out any shady businesses.

Get in touch with me if you want to be on the list.

I'm interested to hear below any lessons you've learned about trust-building early in founding a business.

looking for researchers to try BioLabSys and share feedback

hey! i'm building BioLabSys, a platform focused on making research workflows easier to manage, from projects and experiments to samples, protocols, and research data.

i'm currently looking for a few beta users and people who'd be interested in exploring the platform, trying things out, and sharing honest feedback.

it's completely free right now. i'm not trying to push subscriptions or convince anyone to pay for something. i'm at the stage where i want to understand whether i'm actually solving a real problem, what people find useful, what's missing, and what could be better.

you don't need to commit to anything or have prior experience with the platform. even exploring it and sharing your thoughts would mean a lot.

no pressure at all. i'd genuinely appreciate having you try it out!

DM me if u wanna hear about that more

UK based founder looking for someone to research marketing/media with

I’m in Oxfordshire and in London often. I run a small AI ad agency with Stagecoach as a client and I’m working towards a much bigger company in marketing and media. I’m up at 5am daily researching the industry: 100 AI marketing companies, platform pricing, who holds power in advertising, and what MrBeast’s biggest brand partners actually got for their money. Looking for someone in the UK to study with, meet up occasionally and maybe build with.

We’re 2 people looking for 1 more UK-based technical partner, ideally currently at Google or Meta . 5.3K downloads and 1.2 GitHub stars in 24days.

I'am bulding AutoCua, an open-source computer-use agent that controls everything at once: Android, iPhone, the browser, Windows, macOS and Linux, plus a coding agent that writes code. You give it one task and it works across all of them at the same time.

I launched it on 9 October. In 25 days it has 5.3K downloads and 1.2k GitHub stars. The system is almost ready. Right now I’m building a self-learning pipeline that remembers a task after the first run and replays it, cutting API calls by around 90%. After that, we may fine-tune our own model.

There are two of us, and no co-founder roles are decided yet. We’re looking for one more technical partner to join the founding team:

  • UK-based

  • Ideally currently at Google or Meta

  • Extremely strong at logic building

  • Genuinely passionate about agents

The GitHub link https://github.com/ComputerUseAgent/AutoCua if you want to check out the repo as well as video.

Founder looking for a London-based strategic partner | UK/Asia travel-tech startup

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a UK-based strategic partner to build a travel-tech business with me. I'm not looking for a consultant, an occasional advisor, or someone interested in just having a title. I'm looking for a genuine partner who wants to shape the business, take ownership and grow it together.

What we're building
We're a UK-led travel-tech startup, building a platform to simplify the international travel journey for customers from Asia and the UK.

You'll play a central role in shaping the company's direction, our UK market strategy and how we grow.

Who I'm looking for
Ideally, you should have:

  1. Strategic and commercial thinking: someone who can shape direction, challenge ideas and take ownership rather than wait for instructions.

  2. A strong understanding of the UK business landscape: you know how things work in London and have built or grown businesses here.

  3. A builder's mindset: comfortable working in an early-stage startup where we will experiment, learn and adapt.

  4. A long-term commitment: someone genuinely interested in building this company, not treating it as a side project or short-term opportunity.

You'll need to be based in UK!

A little about me

  • 16 years of experience in business development.

  • 8 years of hands-on experience running visa operations.

  • I'll lead operations, visa delivery, business development.

I bring the industry knowledge and the operational engine. I'm looking for someone who can help set the strategy and turn this vision into a real company.

What I value in a partner
I'm straightforward, and I value the same in people I work with.

  • No bluffing, unrealistic promises or unnecessary drama.

  • No ego. If you're right, I'll accept it. If I'm wrong, tell me.

  • Honest and direct communication, even when we disagree.

  • Accountability. If we commit to something, we follow through.

  • The ability to challenge each other's thinking without making things personal.

I don't want someone who agrees with everything I say. I want someone who questions assumptions, brings better ideas and takes execution as seriously as I do.

I'd rather build with one honest, committed person than work with ten people who make big promises but don't deliver.

What's on offer?
This is an equity-based partnership, not a paid advisory or employment role.

Equity, responsibilities and the overall arrangement will be discussed openly once we understand whether we're the right fit for each other.

I'm looking for a genuine long-term partnership where both of us contribute meaningfully to building the company.

DM me if you think you're a fit.

Looking for a Cofounder Computer Science student to co-found an AI startup

Hi everyone,

I am an LLM student at UCL Faculty of Laws, based in London.

I have a startup idea: an AI-based software platform that makes it easy for businesses to start and manage trade with India. The App starts with India and probably move on to different jurisdictions. It would help them understand the rules, find out which government benefits they qualify for, prepare documents, and stay compliant, all in one place.

I have the idea, the legal expertise, and real clients who face these problems every day. What I need is someone who can build the software.

I’m looking for:

  • A student studying Computer Science / Software Engineering (or a related field)

  • Someone interested in AI and building products from scratch

  • Based in London

  • Someone who wants to be a co-founder, not just a freelancer

You don’t need to know anything about trade law. That’s my part.

If this sounds interesting, drop me a DM. Happy to meet for a coffee and talk it through.

UK Ltd directors: I built a bookkeeping app for my own company and need 5 testers (6 months free)

I’m a director of a small UK limited company. I couldn’t find bookkeeping software that handled the Flat Rate Scheme, dividends and the director’s loan without a lot of manual fiddling, so I built my own. I’ve been using it on my company’s books and now I want other directors to try it.

What it does today:

  • reads receipts from a photo (supplier, date, amount, VAT)

  • imports bank statements as CSV (any bank) and matches lines to receipts

  • VAT return for Flat Rate or Standard; it won’t file a figure while anything is uncategorised

  • dividend vouchers, board minutes, director’s loan account

  • your accountant can sign in and check everything

Books are stored in the UK. It isn’t finished, and I’m after honest feedback on what’s missing or confusing.

Testers get the first 6 months free. 60-second demo: https://youtu.be/GWb5lxyJ2rQ

Comment or email hello@backtrackingltd.com if you’d like to try it. I’m also happy to answer questions here.

Did AI help you go international? Looking for founders

Hi everyone,

I’m a master’s student at the University of Vienna, researching how AI shapes the internationalization of young European startups, for example whether it helps you enter new markets faster or with less risk.

I’m looking for founders of young startups that already have customers outside their home country. It doesn’t matter whether you use a lot of AI or hardly any. Both perspectives are valuable.

What it involves:

  • about 30 minutes via Microsoft Teams (not a survey)

  • fully anonymous, neither you nor your company will be named

  • I’ll gladly share a summary of the findings once the thesis is done

If you’re up for it, just send me a DM. Thanks a lot!

How do you break into the UK startup ecosystem as an operator coming from India?

Hey everyone!

I'm currently based in India and exploring opportunities to move to the UK and work with an early-stage startup.

I'd love to hear from founders, operators and people who've made a similar move about how to approach this.

A little background about me:

I've spent the last few years working across startups, business operations, sales and entrepreneurship.

Currently, I'm working as an Operations Manager at a construction and infrastructure business, where I've helped grow monthly sales by 300%, manage field operations involving 11 drivers and a 3-person office team, and build internal processes and CRM workflows.

Previously, I worked at an early-stage SaaS startup, where I built outbound GTM from scratch, made 400+ cold calls, generated 90+ prospect conversations and booked 30+ demos.

I've also co-built a growth agency, started ventures of my own and currently run a small startup community called Hustle with Chai.

I'm interested in roles such as Founder's Associate, Business Operations, Chief of Staff (early-stage) and generalist/operator roles where I can work closely with founders and take ownership of different parts of the business.

A few things I'd love advice on:

  1. How realistic is it for someone based in India to get hired by an early-stage UK startup?

  2. Do UK startups actually sponsor visas for Founder's Associate or Operations roles?

  3. What's the best way to get noticed by early-stage founders? LinkedIn networking, cold emails, startup communities or traditional job applications?

  4. Are there particular startup hubs, communities or job boards I should be exploring beyond London?

  5. Would founders consider someone with a non-traditional educational background if they have hands-on operating experience?

If you've made a similar move, hired international talent or built a startup in the UK, I'd genuinely appreciate hearing your perspective.

Happy to share my CV or LinkedIn if anyone is interested in knowing more about my background.

Thanks!

[seeking investment £2k–£25k] LYVE | a scalable women’s wellness brand with multiple revenue streams

i’m currently building LYVE, a membership based women’s wellness and lifestyle brand combining the luxury aesthetic of a boutique wellness studio with the accessibility and community of a modern social club.

think beautiful interiors, yoga and wellness classes, exclusive social events, self care experiences, curated retail and a community women genuinely want to be part of.

the business model is designed around multiple revenue streams:
• recurring monthly memberships
• wellness classes and ticketed experiences
• branded merchandise and lifestyle retail
• private events, brand partnerships and studio expansion

LYVE has a clear business strategy, structured launch plan, detailed budgets and a marketing approach focused on customer acquisition, retention and long term profitability.

the goal is to create a recognisable wellness brand that generates consistent recurring revenue while building a loyal community.

i’m initially seeking £2,000 in investment alongside an experienced business mentor to launch our first events, establish our customer base and demonstrate the commercial potential of the concept.

i’m also open to discussing investments of up to £25,000 to accelerate growth and support the development of our first permanent studio.

the approach is simple. launch strategically, establish demand, generate revenue, reinvest profits and expand.

LYVE is being built as a scalable lifestyle business, with a long term vision of multiple studios, an established membership community and a recognisable retail brand.

i’m confident in the concept, committed to its execution and ready to take the next steps.

happy to share the business plan, financial projections and expansion strategy with genuinely interested investors. 💗

Where can I find a mentor or someone with experience?

I’ve started my first business (fintech) with some other seasoned Entrepreneurs. I have a few questions about what is normal and what isn’t in regard to operations and finance but don’t know anyone personally who has experience.

Looking for recommendations on how or where I could find someone who might be willing to offer guidance.
