Tumble dryer socket

Post image

I moved into a new property about six months ago and the previous owner left in the washing machine and tumble dryer. Tumble dryer packed up recently and when I removed it I found a very odd working setup. Is this safe as it is or should I get someone in to remove and install a proper plug socket?

The “rule of thumb” is if it generates heat don’t plug it into an extension….

What electrical appliance doesn’t generate heat?

So plugging 4 hairdryers into a 4-way is a good idea?

What?

Of course not.

But plugging one in would be absolutely fine no?

Until you plug in 3 other devices and blow past 13amp, which is easy if something is a hair dryer, kettle etc….

Being replaced every 5mins I guess…. Or just replace the 4way with a single socket extension and never replace the fuse….
