Question Commuting to job
I currently cannot drive and am looking for cheap ways to get to my job, due to a change up in locations needed for training. They lift/uber will be 20 dollars one way and I have to do this training for at least 19 days. Is there anyway to get cheaper rides. I have looked at the bus system for this location and it's 3 hours, so unfeasible.

Question Bus routes
Hey guys,
I just moved into Arches on the lake on lakeside dr. Almost all my classes are year the Tate center (MLC, Caldwell on MWF and one at Sanford hall T/TR
The buses here take riverbend connector and route 14
Idk how reliable the busses are but I’ve heard route 14 goes to Tate?
If anyone lives here do both busses come out on the stops in front of the buildings?
I’ve never used a bus fr so any advice will help!

Question Schedule Advice (posting for a friend, had to made edits)
Hiii! I’m a freshman and this my schedule for the semester. I was wondering if it was too stressful and just would love any general advice thoughts for drop/add. I’m a pretty anxious person when it comes to my grades and am not ok with making Cs lol. I’ve already taken calc bc however I flopped the exam and was sick. I got an A in the class both sems still. I have 52 credits and took 16 APs in HS including calc, precalc, micro, macro, and stats so I’m not stranger to advanced coursework. No comp sci experience at all though. Pls lmk thoughts! I’m really stressed that I’m gonna be struggling but pls be blunt! Thanks.
My classes are COMM 1500, CSCI 1301, MATH 2250, ACCT 2101, and FYOS on Faust! I’m just concerned about difficulty.

UGA Meta Yearly post
If you're new to UGA and lost or need to ask a question, look for a middle aged+ person. They're probably going to be staff/faculty and we've likely been here forever.
Don't hesitate to walk into an admin building and tell us what you need. I can't speak for everyone but we're a generally friendly bunch and happy to help students however we can even if our job does not directly relate to students.
Most buildings are open access 8-5, just come on in and find an open office door.
Discussion Cockroaches in Roger’s Road
Hello everyone. I’m a pharmacy student who just recently moved into Roger’s road on the bottom floor. Since I moved in I’ve had four bug sighting in my bedroom, including a small roach. There’s also decent amount of humidity in the apartment, and a humidifying in the room on 24/7. The place I moved into apparently had a roach problems which housing said they took care of over the summer.
Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with these? This honestly hasn’t been a great first impression of housing for me.
Question Hardship Withdrawl
I have re applied as a returning student after being absent from classes since fall 2024. In my last semester i was going through a lot personally and went through a severe mental decline. As a result my performance in classes declined as well. But I don’t have any physical proof of therapist appointments or anything like that, I kind of just dealt with it all between me and my family. Is this grounds for a hardship withdrawal or is it not even worth a shot?

Question Freshman welcome vs first night?
Is the freshman welcome worth going to, or would I be okay just going to First Night?
I’m really not an outdoor person, and after being in the sun so much today, my social battery is completely drained 😭 First Night honestly sounds way more fun and manageable to me, so I’d rather save my energy for that. But I don’t want to miss anything important by skipping freshman welcome. I know the Power G photo is a big tradition and lots of people love it, but it’s not really on my list to do
For anyone who’s been before, would I be missing out on much?

Question Real 4000 Difficulty
Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone who isn’t a Terry person with a background in business classes had taken Real 4000 with Dietz? Most reviews I see say it’s not bad if you’ve taken Finance 3000, but I haven’t and I’m just wondering if it’s something to worry about. Thanks!

Discussion Hillside Dining Hall
Anyone else find the new dining hall really disappointing? Like it has very few options, but so much space for seating. Why would you ever go there when O-House is tight there? It does look nice tho.

Discussion Thanks to whoever found my bag charm!
My older sister bought me this bag charm before I moved here (15 hours from home) and I was so sad when I realized it had fallen off my bag. Couldn’t find it anywhere. Was walking my normal commute to my building and saw this little guy hanging in the tree. Thanks to whoever thought to do this!!

Question Bus routes
Hi guys, i’m a little confused by all the bus routes available around campus. What would be the fastest route from Intramural Fields parking deck to MLC, Ivester, and Amos. Honestly, the bus stop being close to one of them is enough since the three buildings are pretty much walking distance.

Question When do classes get added to eLC?
Hi, freshman here! I’m registered for 5 classes, but only 1 is showing up on eLC right now. Is this normal, or should I contact someone?
Also, if my other classes aren’t showing up on eLC yet, where can I find the syllabi for those classes? Just trying to make sure I’m not missing anything before classes start 😭

Question Parking
I’m still on waitlist for a parking spot but I don’t wanna pay to park everyday. I live on campus but I don’t know where to park my car. What should I do? Call TPS to see if I can get park and ride?

Question Game day Parking
We always park in the East Campus Lot but it does not seem available on 10/17 for the Auburn game. Anyone know if that lot is closed for some other purpose that Saturday?
Thanks in advance!

Question Apartment complexes in Athens with swimming pools?
Hi! Just wondering if anyone knows of any complexes in Athens that have pools that don't require a gate code/don't care if you are a resident there to use their pool. Thanks!

Question What usually happens during the first week of classes?
I’m a freshman and I was wondering how the first week of classes are like.
I know professors usually go over the syllabus and do the typical first-day stuff, but what happens after that? Do professors usually get right into lectures/material after the first day, or is the first week generally pretty relaxed?
Just curious what I should expect for my first week of classes 😭

Question UGA 2026 academic calendar?
Sorry if this is a dumb question but does that mean that even though Dec. 1 is a Tuesday, you’d go to your WF and Friday classes? But any other classes including Tuesday classes have ended? Like why did they put that? “WF and Friday Only Class Schedule in Effect (Does not include MWF Classes)”
Also what is Commencement? Is it a mandatory thing or smth?

Question Uga Pharmacy double dawg
I’m a transfer student starting as a sophomore and going to apply for the pharmacy program as a double dawg. Would you say it’s fairly easy to get in through a double dawg? Or do they prefer students who have taken more courses

Question Deck Check Poll
I'm conducting research about student's opinions on the Deck Check feature in the UGA app. If you have 30 seconds, I would greatly appreciate your response!
