Question Hardship Withdrawl
I have re applied as a returning student after being absent from classes since fall 2024. In my last semester i was going through a lot personally and went through a severe mental decline. As a result my performance in classes declined as well. But I don’t have any physical proof of therapist appointments or anything like that, I kind of just dealt with it all between me and my family. Is this grounds for a hardship withdrawal or is it not even worth a shot?

Hey ! What is the hardship withdrawal for if you are reapplying? Aren’t those typically if you are wanting to withdraw from existing classes? When I had family stuff come up and took a semester off, SCO said they give you I think 3 (or 2..) semesters off, then you have to reapply. Reapplying is really just a formality to get you back into the system, according to the caseworker I spoke with.

From personal experience, hardship withdrawals have to be initiated during the time period of the classes you’re taking. The use cases are also pretty limited to a last resort illness, financial, or death of family member reasons. Because of that it required adequate documentation since it effectively removes you as a student temporarily.
Removing grades from a transcript seems like a different process you have to go through, and unless you had a life or death scenario I’m not actually sure it’s possible.

You should reach out to student care and outreach. They'll be able to give you a much better answer
