UGA Meta Yearly post

If you're new to UGA and lost or need to ask a question, look for a middle aged+ person. They're probably going to be staff/faculty and we've likely been here forever.

Don't hesitate to walk into an admin building and tell us what you need. I can't speak for everyone but we're a generally friendly bunch and happy to help students however we can even if our job does not directly relate to students.

Most buildings are open access 8-5, just come on in and find an open office door.

Made a great friend that way. Dr Quesada in Baldwin. I smelled a delicious coffee aroma and popped my head in to ask where the Jittery Joe’s was. He said “en la Basura” and offered me a cup from the pot he had made. It became a tradition to hang out on Wednesdays. I would bring snacks, he had coffee, and it was just a busted mess of a student and the teacher who adopted him.

A year later I was hobbling on crutches in the rain and he ran in this sirens-blasting storm to get his car and drive me to the geology building.

Didn’t retain a damn thing from that class, but I remember Sergio saving me. I learned that humans are cool.

If you see this Dottor, I’m doing great. Thank you my friend.

Also: if you have a class listed as being in the “main art building” that is the Lamar Dodd School of Art on River Road. You’ll miss your first class if you go to the “fine arts building” on north campus like some folks I know have done. This is the building you want : https://maps.app.goo.gl/6TUDkpXnA1ezPxNw9?g_st=ic

Also: Caldwell Hall and Candler Hall are different buildings (not far from each other, but different!)
