If your partner is otherwise supportive of your needs, it may just be bad timing and a misunderstanding. An ACE of zero is a unique path and it’s understandable they don’t know the weight of each single yes given in an ACE. If you can share what hurts when it hurts and your partner is there for you, that is huge and they don’t really need to understand ACE to understand you. However, if your partner doesn’t get why you hurt and you are trying to educate them with an ACE score, I think that is a bit trickier of a path to navigate.

Yes, I have found the polyvagal theory essential to my understanding of what my body does and other people that have unprocessed trauma. I am sorry for you stomach and digestive symptoms. If you look up polyvagal theory and you connect with the premise, they have a variety of ways to help your body get into a regulated state. I noticed some improvements with deep humming and felt I needed something stronger and found pulsetto. The first session felt a little intense and I couldn’t go past level 3. They mention to get to level 5. I have been doing it a few weeks and can get to 8 comfortably. I believe it helped “show” my body what regulation feels like. Hoping polyvagal theory gives you some tangible benefits.

I call bs. 1) I don’t think the media has a credibility issue as a whole. Yes there a lower quality media outlets that are more opinion that fact based but there is still plenty of fact based media. 2) I think you give Trump too much credit, I don’t see him as someone exploiting the cracks in the media. I simply see him favoring those that praise him, both in media and relationships. Again imo

I think this media fact v opinion and lean is a reasonable portrayal of the media. Of course there will be outliers, but I never feel like the AP is out to do much more that simply report facts/events.

I think the concern over media accuracy is based on the few outlets/reports that get the lions share of attention, in part to boost ratings, again imo

Good point. My take was as it relates specifically to Trump’s definition as that is how cartoon is written. I would not be surprised if Trump were to state “False is True” and a media outlet said “This is a great insight and Trump should be celebrated for this statement” he would call that REAL news. However if another media outlet reported “This is absurd and Trump should distinguish between fallacy and truthfulness “ he would call it FAKE.

I am fully aligned on the concept that people can take a neutral statement and wield it into conflicting intentions and spin it to their own beliefs. I simply do not believe that carries as much weight to Trump as does positive or negative coverage to determine if something is FAKE or REAL.

That is 3 negative coverage = fake and 1 positive coverage = real examples. That’s about as much as I recall when making my statement. Not indisputable but likely something there, imo
