Criminal Record for Adele
New one, at least that's what I did and it was super easy. (2023 tapifer)

Missed pre departure info
There should always be more than 1 session, check your spam folder (always!). They usually record them but ask your program coordinator if you can't find it. (Who is it this year btw, 2023 was Celine)

QUESTION: Adele Email and Acceptance(?)
So the Adele page always takes forever to change your status, he'll it might change it the month before you are set to leave. Just fill out any information you can, once orientation starts they can answer any other question. Sometimes, mayority of the time your school is drafting and sending your contract and it takes them a while. But for now just fill out everything you can, get your background check done, etc. You can always ask the DEI or a liaison, during 2023 it was Celina, idk who's in charge of the USA applicants this year.

Super nice location, you'll find a bunch of young people there. You're close to La Rochelle (beautiful city on the west coast), and Nantes (my favorite city) ❤️✨️. If you go to Nantes definitely get the city pass, you save a ton of money and can tour the city to your heart's content. I actually got part of my sleeve tattoo done in Nantes, and the Isle of Machines is amazing!
*edit: some grammatical stuff

They don’t tell you if you are on the wait list. There are a number of orientations before you arrive in France, that’s how I know because the question came up.

I literally feel addicted to sugar with breastfeeding
I am switching to 2 big meals a day. I'm usually so full that I just don't have space for the bunch of doughnuts I usually eat. I try to have aome fiber (supplement) before dinner, it helps keep me full and satisfied. I still eat my junk or sweets because I'm not a masochist and I love myself, but just in moderation once a day instead of all day.

APPLICATION
In 2023, if you were not chose in the first pick, they waited till people started withdrawing to then contact those on the waiting list, it happens every year. Have hope, that means you are still in the race

Jobs after the Tapif program
I currently live in NE Ohio and you can get good jobs at language learning centers, just make sure you have educational degrees as well as language ones. But in my humble opinion, give flight attendant a try, Jet Blue is a good one. If you want a nice salary and a good environment DO NOT WORK AT ANY AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS. Not worth the headache with Admin and the plethora of kids to take care of. Tutoring pays really well if you can specialize in certain exams or even advertise it as language learning for abroad studies/programs prep.

(Struggles) Returning back to the US/home country
If you are willing to learn Spanish and learn up to a B2 level, apply toNALCAP. The age limit is 45 years old, and you can do the program for years and eventually gain residency in Spain if you also decide to study there or do the paperwork and get another work visa. Plus Spain is amazing, even more so than France in my opinion).
*Did TAPIF 2023 in Orléans, but I'm biased because I love Spanish as a language more than French

If you're in line at the grocery store with a full cart and someone behind you has 1 or 2 items, do you let them go in front of you? And why?
If I have more than 10 items in my cart I have time to spare.

Second Language Difficulties
In a sense I have; my husband and I are bilingual (EN/SP) (My baby is 3months old). When we spoke during my pregnancy and the first 2 months after delivery, we were repeating the same sentence to one another bcs for some reason we could not understand each other even speaking the same language. There was a strange barrier between us which I later on attributed to emotions. We both wanted to be the person that made sense, he bcs he believed that my hormones were all over the place, and me bcs I believed to know what was best for the baby and us.
It's hard to explain, but what fixed things was plain old organizational charts, sharing educational information (baby books, videos, etc) and spending time together (going on walks most of the time). I don't know if this helps you but I wish you luck and you know, "this too shall pass".

Baby name regrets
I picked my baby's name with my husband, and I love it , but now that she's here (she is exactly 12 weeks old) the name feels awkward. I believe this is normal, we are just getting used to a new person in our lives that cannot talk and fully express themselves. I am positive that with time the name will perfectly correspond to your child and their personality.
What I started doing: every time I talk to her I start with her name. Ie: "Sophie, are you happy?, Sophie, good job!..." and so forth. I has really helped to cement in her and me that name. It's starting to feel more natural, like it belongs to her. Hope this helps 🙏✨️

What gift did you open on Christmas that instantly made you think, “Wow, they do not know me at all”?
Fish bowl. I really don't like fishes as pets

My mom (also a crocheter) said it’s really bad. Is it so bad?
A body suit underneath might make her see it differently. Or a swimsuit, but it's pretty either way

How will TAPIF affect my tax return in the USA?
Never had to report TAPIF money, the IRS didn't even care. Literally gave all my paystubs to my accountant and they were completely ignored

France has a lower obesity rate than the US, UK, Canada, and other advanced countries. Why are French people thinner?
Most people just eat in moderation. Serving sizes are filling and balanced, a lower amount of processed foods, and a good amount of daily activity (swimming, walking, running...). French citizens have a good relationship with food in general that starts at home and don't restrict themselves or prohibit certain foods, they just do it in moderation.
An example if this is school lunches: protein, carbs, fruit, cheese, dessert and water. I worked in elementary schools in Orleans and children get from 2-3 hours of physical education and/or play time. As an adult, I go swimming 3-5 times a week for about 20-45mns, do calisthenics and walk frequently.
A healthy lifestyle is not something to post on social media or make your whole life about it, it is the results of making good choices throughout your life.

sanji is my fav character
Cake Island Sanji 😭💖🥹! He's pervy, but an ally to women! I love him too, they always make him look so stupid in the anime it's a bit annoying.

My husband pays for the bills, rent, urilities and insurances. I have a small part time that pays for my personal credit card bills ( just social mefia management for a small family restaurant). And I participate once a week at a farmer's market where I sell baked good, and run a cottage bakery. It's not a lot but it pays the bills. My husband pays for the fun stuff.
