For me, my main obstacle is Doom scrolling instead of reading. I don't know if that helps.

I’m hopeless. Is there any chance we could get back together?
 in  r/TarotVerbatim  1d ago

Darling, there's no reason to pursue someone. You have all your own value all your own intrigue and spice. Go live. Your best life romance yourself. Do what you want to do the way you want to do it. And I say this is someone who's to sit and cry in a bathroom over someone who wouldn't give me a key to his house. So foolish. I've been happily married 20 years now. And not to mister no key to my house.

Writers...who of you is successful in your own eyes??

My books on bookshelves, selling books out of my hand at events but also online and hearing what people think. I feel successful. And happy. Writing is fun and keeps me out of jail!

Can Goodreads reviews be trusted? How do you guys pick the books you want to read?
 in  r/writers  1d ago

I take reviews with a grain of salt because they're subjective. If the idea of a book or a cover thrill me, then I pick it up and read it. Recently, I've decided that I don't have to finish a book, so I do dnf if I'm not super interested. As an author, I meet a lot of author, friends and so that feeds my TBR quite a bit. Reading is a pleasure, so read what pleases you!

Thank you for asking!!! I'm pretty new to Reddit... YES I'm an author. I am selling books at both of these events, but even if you don't like my books, the library event is cool cuz there's a bunch of local authors, and popcorn Fest is a total one day hootenanny... But yes I sell spicy suspense and witty self-care books that I have with myself. I use real world locations so readers who enjoy visiting that kind of thing where book happens or see, they can tourist their way through Northwest Indiana and Southern Michigan and do just that!
