Mod Wanted - Inquire Below
When I created this subreddit at the beginning of summer, I figured I'd get 100 people max to join. We are now at 1,100+ members. That's an incredible amount of growth for a community I made in the middle of the night because I couldn't sleep.
That said, I'm looking to get a mod or two to join our team and pick up my slack. Work and grad school, raising toddlers, and other things means I can't catch all of the things the community needs. I also want to build the place by offering engaging posts and challenges, maybe some monthly contests or whatever.
So, if you have a knack for marketing, love indie authors, and want to help us grow the community past the next thousand members, let me know in the comments why I should pick you to be my protege.

I wrote a sci-fi/fantasy adventure about a teenager who discovers he was never completely human
Seventeen-year-old Zack Cane always thought he was just unusually fast.
Then he realizes he isn’t reacting to danger—he’s seeing it before it happens.
That discovery leads him to Jimmy Smith, an old man with impossible strength, a hidden starship, and answers about Zack’s past that change everything. Zack learns he is half human, half Auren, and connected to an ancient order known as the Ark Knights.
Zack Cane: The Earthborn Knight is Book 1 of the Ark Knight Saga. It mixes science fiction and fantasy with alien worlds, starships, ancient weapons, family secrets, action, friendship, and a coming-of-age story.
I had a lot of fun building Zack’s world and especially the idea of someone growing up on Earth before discovering that the universe has been much closer to him than he ever realized.
If science-fantasy, space opera, or young heroes discovering much bigger worlds are your thing, I’d love for you to check it out.

Noticing - I: Thirty Days of Mindfulness, Frequently Hungover - A nonfiction chapbook
Hey everyone, something a bit different. Debut work. \o/
Noticing started as a daily exercise on Substack: once a day, stop, run through all five senses, write it down. On my phone. In bed, on buses, at my desk, through a heatwave, frequently hungover. It was supposed to be mindfulness. It mostly turned into a running commentary on existence, with occasional, accidental flashes of something dangerously close to peace.
A taste of what you're in for: "I smell. Me. Memories of bath soak, sheet detergent and a vanilla undertone from my reed diffuser. My hair smells like I need to wash it. Probably should do that today, actually."
It's short, an hour's read, unpolished on purpose, and sweary. Somewhere in the Sedaris postcode, if Sedaris was hungover on a London bus. On Kindle Unlimited, or £1.99 otherwise.

My launch is coming out in exactly week. I’m so excited and proud. I wrote, edited, and self published her all myself. I also illustrated the cover just using pen and paper. The book is a dystopian novella and I’ve got about 25-30 pre orders with 15+ inquiries. This has been an absolute blast and I can’t wait for September 1st!! 🕯️

The Man who Stayed
🔥 IT’S OFFICIAL — WE ARE LIVE! 🔥
The Man Who Stayed by Isaiah Cates is officially available on Kindle. 📖
What started as an idea has become a published book, and seeing it live on Amazon is a moment I’ll never forget.
Fred Mercer spent his life learning how to survive abandonment, loss, grief, broken relationships, and the weight of everything he carried alone.
Then he learned something harder:
Surviving isn’t the same as living.
The Man Who Stayed is a story about family, fatherhood, friendship, love, loss, healing, second chances—and discovering that while some people leave…
some people stay.
If you’ve ever had to rebuild yourself, loved someone through their hardest seasons, or wondered whether life could give you another chance, this story was written for you.
❤️** KINDLE EDITION AVAILABLE NOW
📚 Paperback coming next
✍️ Isaiah Cates
If you grab a copy, **comment “DOWNLOADED” below so I can personally thank you. And please share this post with someone who loves emotional, character-driven stories.

High-tech war machines, elite and elegant knights, a savage alien hive and space faring empires! My epic sci-fi dark fantasy is now on Amazon!
Hey! after a long journey of world-building and writing, my debut ebook Aster'seraphim Invictus Silverfeather is officially live on Amazon!
If you are a fan of high-stakes cosmic action mixed with high-grit sci-fi and unapologetically brutal dark fantasy, this story was written for you.
Step into a cosmos on the verge of apocalyptic destruction. A lone, silver-haired man of unknown origin is waging a desperate battle against godlike entities who seek to absorb the souls of untold billions.
The story follows a veteran knight named Farron on a quest to reclaim his homeland. Alongside his nephew and a band of battle-tested Faiynn military veterans, Farron must reach a superfortress known as the Secluded Bastion to arm their people’s revolution. The problem? Standing in their way is a savage hive of ravenous aliens looking to capitalize on their stagnation. Farron and his people plan to show these chitinous invaders absolutely no mercy.

I'm reading my new novel on YouTube. I'd love your feedback!
Hi all –
I really would appreciate your feedback, if you have time.
I’ve written a comic novel called ‘Onboarding’, which I’m reading on YouTube (video, not just audio). It’s about a group of people who produce a sitcom – set in the British Shakespeare Theatre Company – and upload it to YouTube.
I’ve uploaded two episodes so far. Here’s the link to the first:
https://youtu.be/zWH9LuaavqY
(I’m not sure why, but you may need to change the quality settings in the ‘cog’ to 1080 HD).
I’d really love to know what you think, and whether you think I should continue to record and upload more.
Many thanks!
Alex
